A abordagem é qualitativa.
Health and wellness tourism in the European context - supply and demand trends
No
recente pandemia mundial. O principal objetivo deste trabalho é explorar a
especializados focados no bem-estar físico e psicológico.
a outros destinos. In recent decades, health and wellness have become important motives for
consumption, attracting the interest of researchers from different disciplines. However,
one of the current challenges in academic research and in the wellness tourism industry
is the conceptual development related to the key term wellness. In recent years in
Europe, classical thermalism, focused essentially on the 'cure' dimension, has been
replaced by modern thermalism, which is particularly based on the 'wellness' dimension,
and the offer is more focused on preventive therapeutic motivations, combined with
recreational and tourism aspects. Following this trend, spas are starting to regain some
dynamism in betting on a diversified offer, which not only considers the therapeutic
assumptions but also a holistic perspective, which simultaneously includes the
assumptions of health and wellness.
This dissertation aims to analyze the main European thermal destinations in order to
trace the demand profile and the main challenges of this sector, also characterized by the
recent global pandemic. The main goal of this work is to explore the transformation and
evolution of the concept of Thermal Tourism in the wellness area, and to understand its
importance today. In order to meet this objective, a qualitative approach methodology
was used, using semi-structured interviews.
In the main conclusions, it is possible to highlight a change in the consumer profile in
Europe, which is moving towards a younger demand, with more specialized services
focused on physical and psychological well-being. The impact of Covid-19 confirmed the
need to re-evaluate products and services, with offers that combine nature, sports, and
nutrition, among others. The importance of partnerships and modernization of services,
arises to combat the usual treatments of thermal waters and offer more opportunities for
consumers to enjoy a better-quality experience, with other options, beyond the so-called
"classic" ones. Currently, thermalism is based particularly on a more directed aspect to
well-being, with increasingly qualified professionals from different areas, such as
nutrition, sports, psychology, among others.
The main limitations highlighted in the present study relate to the scarce studies in the
area, nationally and internationally, and the geographical dimension of the study. For future research, is suggested the continuation of this study, exploring other
perspectives, using other methodological approaches, or even applying it to other
tourism destinations
Social commerce: how should portuguese companies invest in it?
JEL: L81; M31The massification and globalization of the internet and social media democratized the
access to information and changed behaviours and consumption habits.
In this context, this thesis pretends to evaluate the impact and degree of acceptance of
social commerce in Portugal, by focusing on a sample of 521 consumers who were
surveyed through an online survey administered via internet, to which they
voluntarily responded. The majority of the surveyed was male young adults, working
for others and with a monthly income higher than 1,000€.
Since social commerce is still in its infancy stage, there is a huge potential for growth
and expansion, and therefore, Portuguese companies should take it in consideration in
their future marketing plans and strategies.
One of the main findings of this study was that the habit of using daily social
networks does not seem to be much valued at the time of the purchase decision, as the
great majority of those surveyed affirmed that they never bought anything with direct
influence of social networks or directly through these.
Furthermore, after publishing a post on the social networks expressing interest or
doubts about a brand, most respondents admitted to be fully open to be addressed by a
responsible or manager of that brand for customer care purposes.
Additionally, about one third of the respondents confessed to have already bought or
would like to purchase products or services directly from an online store on
Facebook.A massificação e globalização da internet e redes sociais democratizou o acesso à
superior a 1000 €.
Telecommunication is one of the most dynamic and strategic areas in the world. Many technological innovations has modified the way information is exchanged. Information and knowledge are now shared in networks. Broadband Internet is the new way of sharing contents and information.
This dissertation deals with performance indicators related to maintenance services of telecommunications networks and uses models of multivariate regression to estimate churn, which is the loss of customers to other companies. In a competitive environment, telecommunications companies have devised strategies to minimize the loss of customers.
Loosing customers presents a higher cost than obtaining new ones. Corporations have plenty of data stored in a diversity of databases. Usually the data are not explored properly. This work uses the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) to establish rules and new models to explain how churn, as a dependent variable, are related to a diversity of service indicators, such as time to deploy the service (in hours), time to repair (in hours), and so on. Extraction of meaningful knowledge is, in many cases, a challenge. Models were tested and statistically analyzed. The work also shows results that allows the analysis and identification of which quality services indicators influence the churn. Actions are also proposed to solve, at least in part, this problemA área de telecomunicações é uma das mais estratégicas e dinâmicas do mundo atual.
Steroids in the dental implant osseointegration: literature review.
Osseointegration of dental implants (OID) comprises the direct contact between bone and implant surface. Cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes are essential in healing and cell regulation during bone repair and remodeling, being important in OID. Considering that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are COX inhibitors and commonly prescribed for relief of undesirable signs and symptoms in the postoperative period in implant dentistry, the present review aimed to study the influence of the use of these drugs in OID. For this purpose, the keywords Dental implantation, bone-implant interface and Anti-inflammatories, combined with each other and in the English language, were used in the Pubmed database. In all, 24 articles were found and, after reading their abstracts, 10 studies of pre-clinical (n = 6) or clinical (n = 4) scientific research were selected, which were read in full. Studies of literature reviews that did not use NSAIDs specifically were excluded. Among the 10 selected manuscripts, 5 studies found that NSAIDs interfere negatively in OID and all of these referred to selective or preferential COX 2 inhibition. Meanwhile, 2 studies found the opposite result, but using non-selective inhibitor NSAIDs and, therefore, of COX 1. The remaining 3 articles reported neutrality in the referred result. Thus, despite the lack of data in the literature, it is suggested that NSAIDs may interfere negatively in OID, especially as a result of COX-2 inhibition and in direct association with the dose of use.Osseointegration of dental implants (OID) comprises the direct contact between bone and implant surface. ACTOR CENTRALITY IN NETWORK PROJECTS AND SCIENTIFIC PERFORMANCE: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY
This study analyzed the relationship between actor centrality of Network Projects and scientific productivity performance using a method known as Social Network Analysis (SNA). SNA and its respective properties are able to analyze actors´ positions in the structure and existing social interactions in networks. Thus, this method generates indicators to understand the format of collaborative structures of projects and their respective performances in scientific productivity. In order to carry out this proposal, models for multimodal analysis were used, taking into consideration different centrality measures. The behavior of centrality metrics has proven to be significantly different for analyses. Furthermore, the correlations between these metrics and scientific productivity performance have shown to be important in achieving project goals. This shows that the more centrality there is, the greater the chance the project has to achieve its goals
