Considering the importance of destination market segmentation as an influential marketing effort for identifying and understanding segments’ psychological characteristics, the present study investigates the differences of inbound visitors' who attend to the grand bazaar of Tehran city. Factor analysis of the data extracted fifteen motivation and lifestyle factors, which the process was perfect by using cluster analysis. The findings indicated four types of inbound visitors: ‘Ideal-sense seekers’, ‘Special aspiring visitors’, ‘Middle want vacationers’, ‘Principled behavior enthusiasts’. A chi-square test was applied to compare four groups for independence analysis based on the types as well as the visitors' socio-demographic profiles. The socio-demographic profiles of respondents indicated statistically significant differences between the four clusters in terms of gender, age, travel companions, and previous trips to Tehran grand bazaar. Since the motivations and lifestyle would potentially influence their decision-making style in particular holiday destination and its related products and services, the study investigated the distribution of the decision-making style dimensions to every classified segment to understanding the decision-making styles of groups. Combining motivation and lifestyle dimensions in the form of segmentation analysis allows researchers and managers to identify specific types of tourists groups for targeted marketing campaigns specifically directed promotion programs in the context of cultural tourism

International audienceAs one of the most ancient and attractive tourism destinations in the Middle East and South Asia, Iran seeks to maximize its competitive identity to compete more effectively at international level. This study examines the major factors influencing Iran’s competitive identity as a tourism destination from a supply-side perspective. The paper is divided into two phases using qualitative and quantitative techniques. First, we determined Iran’s major competitiveness factors using thematic content analysis. Second, we examined the relationships between the identified factors, Iran’s competitive identity, and its international tourism market development. The findings of this study suggest that factors including information technology, politics, products and services, spatial and infrastructure, structure and organization, economic and sociocultural factors significantly impact the destination’s competitive identity. This paper also outlines the key theoretical and practical implications of this study

Background: Seas and oceans have been recognized as a rich source of metabolites and bioactive compounds with biodiversity and drug activity. These compounds have accumulated in various organisms. Bioactive compounds can be extracted from various animal groups, such as coral, crabs, moss animals, Echinodermata, case-bearers, fishes, and sponges. Objectives: Antimicrobial extracts of the sea cucumber body wall (Stichopus variegatus), collected from Chabahar Bay, were tested for four bacterial, fungal, and yeast species. Methods: The disk diffusion method was used in this study. The McFarland 0.5 standard was used in the preparation of suspensions of the mentioned microorganisms under a hood. Next, the species were cultured with a swab on a Mueller-Hinton agar for bacteria and on a Sabouraud dextrose agar for fungi. Subsequently, the disks, with appropriate concentrations, were placed on microbiological growth media. Results: The results of the study showed that the best effect belonged to the aqueous methanol extract of the sea cucumber body wall, with an 8 mg/mL concentration on E. coli, with an inhibition zone diameter of 12.26 mm. The lowest inhibition zone diameter belonged to the methanol extract of white strands, with a 2 mg/mL concentration on C. albicans and an inhibition zone diameter of 1.16 mm. The n-hexane and chloroform extracts had no effect. Conclusions: Comparison of these tests indicates that sea cucumbers have an innate immunity system, which can be considered a potential source for discovering antimicrobial peptides
