Decays of bottom mesons emitting tensor meson in final state using ISGW II model

In this paper, we investigate phenomenologically two-body weak decays of the bottom mesons emitting pseudoscalar/vector meson and a tensor meson. Form factors are obtained using the improved ISGW II model. Consequently, branching ratios for the CKM-favored and CKM-suppressed decays are calculated.Comment: 32 pages, to be published in Phys. Foreign banks, profits, market power and efficiency in PICs: some evidence from Fiji

    Get PDF
Studies on bank profitability vis-Ć -vis market power and efficiency span a number of years, many countries, regions and methods. Yet, the experiences of the Pacificā€™s small states ā€“ where foreign banks are widespread and bank profits relatively high ā€“ remain unknown, leaving policy-makers ill-informed regarding relevant policy development. This study fills a huge gap in literature by providing some evidence on the issue in a Pacific Island context. Two market power hypotheses ā€“ the structure-conduct-performance (SCP) and the relative market power (RMP) hypotheses together with two measures of the efficient structure (ES) hypothesis ā€“ X and scale efficiencies are estimated. The nonparametric data envelopment analysis (DEA) technique is used to estimate efficiency scores for banks in Fiji over the period 2000 to 2010 and the dynamic GMM to estimate the relationships between market power and efficiency vis-Ć -vis profitability. Results show that the RMP and ES hypotheses might hold, but not the SCP. Profits appear to persist over time. Policy implications are considerable including that any suggestions to limit further mergers and acquisitions of banks in the region may have to be properly debated

Branching ratios of Bc Meson Decays into Tensor Meson in the Final State

Two-body hadronic weak decays of Bc meson involving tensor meson in the final state are studied by using Isgur- Scora-Grinstein-Wise (ISGW II) model. Decay amplitudes are obtained using the factorization scheme in the Spectator Quark Model. Branching ratios for the charm changing and bottom changing decay modes are predicted.Comment: 18 pages. accepted in Physical Review

An Efficient Technique for Color Image Classification Based On Lower Feature Content

Image classification is backbone for image data availableĀ Ā  around us. It is necessary to useĀ  a technique for classified the data in a particular class. In multiclass classification used different Classifier techniqueĀ  for the classification of data, such as binary classifier and support vector machine .In this paper we used an efficient classification technique as radial basis function.Ā  A Radial Basis Function (RBF) neural network has an input layer, a hidden layer and an output layer. The neurons in the hidden layer contain Gaussian transfer functions whose outputs are inversely proportional to the distance from the center of the neuron. For classification of data support vector machine (SVM) is used as binary classifier.Ā  The someĀ  approaches commonly used are the One-Against-One (1A1), One-Against-All (1AA),and SVM as Ant Colony Optimization(ACO). SVM-ACO decrease unclassified data and also decrease noise with outer line of data. Here SVM-RBF reduce noise with outer line data and complexity more than SVM-ACO. Keywords-- Image classification; feature sampling; support vector machine; ACO; RBF

Trade Credit Policies for Supplier, Manufacturer, and Retailer: An Imperfect Production-Inventory System with Rework

    Get PDF
In this study, we developed a trade credit policy for a three-layer supply chain consisting of a supplier, a manufacturer and a retailer. We propose an optimal production rate and selling price for the manufacturer and the retailer under an imperfect production system. The suggested coordination policy optimizes the profit of each supply chain member. Two models were formulated for two real-life strategies respectively. The first one is a collaborative (integrated) system and the second one is a Stackelberg leadership system. Both strategies were analyzed for various credit periods, respectively offered by the supplier to the manufacturer, by the manufacturer to the retailer, and by the retailer to the customers, by considering price-sensitive demand and a certain replenishment rate. Finally, we concluded which strategy will be better for inventory management under the given restrictions in the form of propositions. The concavity property for the net profit function was established with respect to the selling price and the production rate, which was also described graphically and analyzed by numerical examples

Učinci prenatalne i postnatalne izloženosti perfluorooktanskoj kiselini na ekspresiju glavnih gena povezanih s reprodukcijom u miŔjem hipotalamusu i spolnim žlijezdama

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a ubiquitous environmental pollutant reported to be an endocrine disruptor, is used in many industrial and consumer products. Although the adverse effects of PFOA on the reproductive health of animals and humans have been widely reported, most studies have focused on assessing the anatomical features and conventional histology of adult gonads. Therefore, the molecular mechanisms activated in the hypothalamus and gonads following PFOA exposure during the pre- and postnatal periods are not clear. This study used a mouse model to evaluate the effects of PFOA exposure on the alteration of molecular mechanisms in the hypothalamus and gonads during the prenatal and postpartum periods. Changes in gene and protein expression following PFOA exposure were evaluated by quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting, respectively. Kisspeptin 1 and gonadotropin-releasing hormone expression in the hypothalamus of female and male mouse pups was significantly decreased. Additionally, Cyp17a1 expression was upregulated in male offspring testes, while Cyp17a1 and Cyp19a1 expression was downregulated in female offspring ovaries. Changes at the molecular level due to PFOA exposure in the early stages of development did not show sex-related differences in the hypothalamus; however, such differences were confirmed in the gonads. These results could be used as basic data to study the molecular mechanisms underlying the reproductive dysfunction caused by PFOA exposure in the early stages of embryonic development.
