    Enhancement the security of WSN using ALARM protocol to Prevention from Reply Attack

    The wireless Ad hoc network is the self configuring type of network. In self configuring type of networks mobile nodes can leave or join the network when they want .In such type of networks many inside and outside attacks are possible. Inside and outside attacks are broadly classified as active and passive attacks. To prevent inside and outside attacks trust relationship between the mobile nodes must be maintained. The trust relationship between the mobile nodes is provided by mutual authentication. ALARM is the protocol for providing trust relationship between the mobile nodes. In this protocol the clocks of the mobile nodes are weakly synchronized by using GPS. In such case reply attack is possible. To prevent reply attack clocks of the mobile nodes must be strongly synchronized. In our new proposed technique, we are enhancing t the ALARM protocol to provide strong clock synchronization between the mobile nodes.     Convolvulus prostratus Forssk : A Memory Boosting Herb

    Convolvulus prostratus Forssk. aka C. pluricaulis, C. microphyllus commonly known as ‘Shankhpushpi’ has been traditionally used for improvement in memory and cognitive function in cases of dementia, epilepsy, depression, anxiety and central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Studies have shown that this herb has potential to enhance memory recall, increase brain plasticity and boost learning ability. The plant species has several active metabolites including alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic acids and terpenoids that interacts with protein, neurological signaling pathways and demonstrates pharmacological effects, such as, anti-amnesiac, anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic, analgesic, antioxidant, neuroprotective, memory and learning improving, sedative-hypnotic and anticonvulsant activity, which have been linked to brain health and the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases. In the present study, leaf explant of C. prostratus were cultured on MS (Murashige and Skoog’s medium) medium supplemented with 1mgL-1 2, 4-D shows optimum callus induction. Moreover, several biotechnological approaches could be used for better understanding of its memory enhancing mechanism, such as, phytochemical analysis for active compounds, in vitro and in vivo studies for safety and efficacy, metabolomics for potential health benefits and tissue culture for large scale productionof this medicially potent plant species in controlled environment.     Association mapping reveals novel genes and genomic regions controlling grain size architecture in mini core accessions of Indian National Genebank wheat germplasm collection

    Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a staple food crop for the global human population, and thus wheat breeders are consistently working to enhance its yield worldwide. In this study, we utilized a sub-set of Indian wheat mini core germplasm to underpin the genetic architecture for seed shape-associated traits. The wheat mini core subset (125 accessions) was genotyped using 35K SNP array and evaluated for grain shape traits such as grain length (GL), grain width (GW), grain length, width ratio (GLWR), and thousand grain weight (TGW) across the seven different environments (E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E5, E6, and E7). Marker-trait associations were determined using a multi-locus random-SNP-effect Mixed Linear Model (mrMLM) program. A total of 160 non-redundant quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) were identified for four grain shape traits using two or more GWAS models. Among these 160 QTNs, 27, 36, 38, and 35 QTNs were associated for GL, GW, GLWR, and TGW respectively while 24 QTNs were associated with more than one trait. Of these 160 QTNs, 73 were detected in two or more environments and were considered reliable QTLs for the respective traits. A total of 135 associated QTNs were annotated and located within the genes, including ABC transporter, Cytochrome450, Thioredoxin_M-type, and hypothetical proteins. Furthermore, the expression pattern of annotated QTNs demonstrated that only 122 were differentially expressed, suggesting these could potentially be related to seed development. The genomic regions/candidate genes for grain size traits identified in the present study represent valuable genomic resources that can potentially be utilized in the markers-assisted breeding programs to develop high-yielding varieties

    Jujube or ber (Ziziphus spp.) is one of the most important fruit crops of India’s arid and semi-arid regions because of its high adaptability to resource constraints hot (semi)arid region. Jujube is a rich source of minerals, vitamins and dietary antioxidants to arid zone dwellers, where it is known as poor man’s apple. Given the present rising trends in discovering and exploiting plant-based health-promoting compounds, it is imperative to know the extent of variability with respect to fruit nutritional compositions present in the jujube germplasms. In this study, we assessed genetic variability for fruit nutritional and functional quality traits in eighteen jujube accessions belonging to three species (Z. mauritiana, Z. rotundifolia and Z. oenoplia) from an ex-situ collection from Indian arid and semi-arid regions in two consecutive fruiting seasons (2020-21 and 2021-22). Results revealed significant variability among eighteen jujube genotypes for important fruits physico-biochemical parameters. The IC 625864 (Z. oenoplia) identified as a superior accession for fruit antioxidant potential with having high levels of total phenols (256.2 mg/100 g dry weight) and total antioxidants (423 mg/100 g in FRAP). Moreover, IC 625849 (Z. mauritiana) and IC 625848 (Z. rotundifolia) were other genotypes containing high levels of phenols and total antioxidant (FRAP). Thus, while aiming for simultaneous improvement for total antioxidants with phenols, IC 625848, IC 625849 and IC 625864 genotypes can be considered as valuable resource for jujube fruit quality improvement program. Further, the high levels of phenotypic variance with high genotypic variance coupled with high heritability and genetic advance particularly for total antioxidants, total phenols, and ascorbic acid contents in fruits, indicating them to be considered as reliable biochemical markers to identify the productive genotypes having higher amounts of dietary antioxidants. Depending on the identified genotypes for their richness in the particular phytonutrients, these can be exploited either for table purpose or biofortification of other products, or using in jujube breeding program for quality improvement

    Child neurodevelopment after multidomain interventions from preconception through early childhood

    ImportanceMultidomain interventions in pregnancy and early childhood have improved child neurodevelopment, but little is known about the effects of additional preconception interventions.ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of a multifaceted approach including health; nutrition; water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); and psychosocial support interventions delivered during the preconception period and/or during pregnancy and early childhood on child neurodevelopment.Design, Setting, and ParticipantsIn this randomized trial involving low- and middle-income neighborhoods in Delhi, India, 13 500 participants were assigned to preconception interventions or routine care for the primary outcome of preterm births and childhood growth. Participants who became pregnant were randomized to pregnancy and early childhood interventions or routine care. Neurodevelopmental assessments, the trial’s secondary outcome reported herein, were conducted in a subsample of children at age 24 months, including 509 with preconception, pregnancy, and early childhood interventions; 473 with preconception interventions alone; 380 with pregnancy and early childhood interventions alone; and 350 with routine care. This study was conducted from November 1, 2020, through February 25, 2022.InterventionsHealth, nutrition, psychosocial care and support, and WASH interventions delivered during preconception, pregnancy, and early childhood periods.Main Outcomes and MeasuresCognitive, motor, language, and socioemotional performance at age 24 months, assessed using the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development 3 tool.ResultsThe mean age of participants at enrollment was 23.8 years (SD, 3.0 years). Compared with the controls at age 24 months, children in the preconception intervention groups had higher cognitive scores (mean difference [MD], 1.16; 98.3% CI, 0.18-2.13) but had similar language, motor, and socioemotional scores as controls. Those receiving pregnancy and early childhood interventions had higher cognitive (MD, 1.48; 98.3% CI, 0.49-2.46), language (MD, 2.29; 98.3% CI, 1.07-3.50), motor (MD, 1.53; 98.3% CI, 0.65-2.42), and socioemotional scores (MD, 4.15; 98.3% CI, 2.18-6.13) than did controls. The pregnancy and early childhood group also had lower incidence rate ratios (RRs) of moderate to severe delay in cognitive (incidence RR, 0.62; 98.3% CI, 0.40-0.96), language (incidence RR, 0.73; 98.3% CI, 0.57-0.93), and socioemotional (incidence RR, 0.49; 98.3% CI, 0.24-0.97) development than did those in the control group. Children in the preconception, pregnancy, and early childhood intervention group had higher cognitive (MD, 2.60; 98.3% CI, 1.08-4.12), language (MD, 3.46; 98.3% CI, 1.65-5.27), motor (MD, 2.31; 98.3% CI, 0.93-3.69), and socioemotional (MD, 5.55; 98.3% CI, 2.66-8.43) scores than did those in the control group.Conclusions and RelevanceMultidomain interventions during preconception, pregnancy and early childhood led to modest improvements in child neurodevelopment at 24 months. Such interventions for enhancing children’s development warrant further evaluation
