Towards the development of a smart flying sensor: illustration in the field of precision agriculture

Sensing is an important element to quantify productivity, product quality and to make decisions. Applications, such as mapping, surveillance, exploration and precision agriculture, require a reliable platform for remote sensing. This paper presents the first steps towards the development of a smart flying sensor based on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The concept of smart remote sensing is illustrated and its performance tested for the task of mapping the volume of grain inside a trailer during forage harvesting. Novelty lies in: (1) the development of a position-estimation method with time delay compensation based on inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors and image processing; (2) a method to build a 3D map using information obtained from a regular camera; and (3) the design and implementation of a path-following control algorithm using model predictive control (MPC). Experimental results on a lab-scale system validate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology

Modeling of a Variable-BVR Rotary Valve Free Piston Expander/Compressor

The concept of a free-piston expansion/compression unit with a variable Built-in Volume Ratio (BVR) is proposed. This device has no crankshaft mechanism which provides a possibility to optimize the expansion process free of mechanical limitations. An additional degree of freedom is used, namely the rotation to control the in- and the outlet ports timing. Further, the operation in the expander mode will be described. In most of the existing linear expanders/compressors, bouncing chambers or devices are used to reverse the piston movement at extreme positions. This approach is characterized by relatively high energy losses due to irreversibility of such a process. As an alternative, a fully controlled movement of the piston is proposed. This paper is focused on the control algorithm based on rules, which have been obtained and based on the insight in the system. Including the rotation timing, resulting in an optimal expansion process with an outlet pressure matching with the required one

Evaluación de diferentes niveles de amino-vit en la alimentación artificial de abeja europea ( apis mellifera) y su efecto en la cosecha de polen.

Se evaluó el efecto nutritivo de diferentes niveles de Amino-Vit, (2, 4, 6 ml/lt de jarabe de azúcar) en la alimentación artificial de abeja (Apis mellifera), frente a un grupo control, esta investigación se la realizó en la comunidad Tunshi San Javier del cantón Riobamba, provincia de Chimborazo. Se utilizaron un total de 12 unidades experimentales, constituidas por una colmena tipo Langstroth de un piso y medio totalmente pobladas y listas para la producción, mediante un Diseño Completamente al Azar. Las variables estudiadas fueron: peso inicial y final de las colmenas (kg), peso de las colmenas cada 15 días (kg), número de marcos con cría al inicio. (N.º), número de marcos con cría al final. (N.º), producción de polen (g), consumo de alimento (ml), costo de los tratamientos ($). Al finalizar el experimento las mejores respuestas en la cosecha de polen se obtuvieron con las colmenas alimentadas con Amino-vit 4 ml/lt de jarabe de azúcar, alcanzando una producción semanal promedio de 1063,67 g de polen por colmena, esto debido a los nutrientes que posee este producto como los aminoácidos y vitaminas que aseguran una buena postura, manteniendo así una población fuerte que logra recolectar grandes cantidades de polen en el pecoreo. El mejor beneficio/costo se lo obtuvo con el tratamiento Amino-vit 4 ml/lt de jarabe de azúcar, con$1.39, lo que significa que por cada dólar invertido se obtienen 39 centavos de ganancia. De esta manera se determinó que el Amino-vit tiene un efecto positivo sobre la producción de las colmenas, por lo tanto, se recomienda alimentar a los enjambres utilizando Amino-vit en dosis de 4 ml/lt de jarabe de azúcar en colmenas de un piso y medio, a intervalos de 15 días, para maximizar la cosecha de polen y aumentar los ingresos económicos en beneficio de los productores.The nutritional effect of different levels of Amino-Vit, (2,4,6 ml / lt of sugar syrup) in the bee feeding (Apis mellifera), compared to a control group was evaluated. This research was carried out in the Tunshi San Javier community of Riobamba canton, Chimborazo province. A total of twelve experimental units were used, consisting of a Langstroth hive of a floor and a half fully populated and ready for production, through a Completely Random Design. The variables studied were initial and final weight of the hives (kg), weight of the colonies every fifteen days (kg), number of frames with breeding at the beginning (No), number of frames with breeding at the end (No), production of pollen (g), food consumption (ml), cost of treatments ($).At the end of the experiment, the best responses in the pollen harvest were obtained with the hives fed with Amino-Vit 4 ml / l of sugar syrup, reaching an average weekly production of 1063.67 g of pollen per hive. Due to the nutrients, this product has such as amino acids and vitamins, that ensure proper posture, thus maintaining a healthy population that manages to collect large amounts of pollen in the foraging. The best benefit/cost was obtained with the Amino-Vit 4 ml / lt sugar syrup treatment, with$ 1.39, which means that for every dollar invested, 39 cents of profit are collected. It was determined that Amino-Vit has a positive effect on the production of hives. Therefore, it is recommended to feed the swarms using Amino-Vit in doses of 4 ml / l of sugar syrup in colonies of a floor and a half, at intervals of fifteen days, to maximize pollen harvest and increase economic income for the benefit of producers

El objetivo principal de este informe es presentar, explicar las herramientas y técnicas disponibles que ayudan a los equipos red y blue. Uso de la moringa oleifera para infección respiratoria aguda (covid-19). Revisión sistemática

La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), en cabeza del doctor Tedros Adhanom declaro el 11 de marzo de 2020 la pandemia por Sars-cov-2, conocida como la pandemia por covid-19; diferentes instituciones y organismos de salud trabajaron para ayudar y generar soluciones que resolvieran el problema de salud, esto motivó a algunas personas con conocimientos en Medicina alternativa, boticarios y yerbateros a buscar en las plantas medicinales una opción para el tratamientos síntomas relacionados al Covid-19, entre las muchas plantas medicinales que afirmaban poder aliviar los síntomas, mejorar defensas e inclusive evitar la propagación e infección del virus sirviendo como antiviral natural, la Moringa oleifera ganó notoriedad y esto aumento su consumo, al punto de estar agotado durante un tiempo en las plazas de mercado y tiendas naturistas de Colombia, por esta razón se decide investigar sobre las propiedades medicinales de la Moringa y verificar cuál es su papel en la prevención y tratamiento del covid-19.The World Health Organization (WHO), at the head od Dr. Tedros Adhanom, declare on March 11, 2020, the pandemic by Sars.cov-2, know as Covid-19 pandemic, different health institution and organizations worked to help and generate solution to solve the heat problem. Identification and path following control of an AR.drone quadrotor

This paper describes the process of identification and closed-loop control of an Parrot AR. Drone Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) as well as a path following application based on IMC position controllers. The research issue is to achieve position control of the AR.Drone quadrotor movement via its on-board sensory equipment and external webcam video stream. Firstly, transfer functions are detailed for pitch and altitude movements and a comparison is made between implemented PID and IMC controller performance for both simulation and practice. Furthermore, using IMC controllers, a path following application exhibits controller behavior from a practical point of view. It is concluded that the dynamic model and the controllers implemented on the quadrotor can serve as a reliable basis for more advanced applications

Impacto que ha generado el Régimen Impositivo Simplificado Ecuatoriano (RISE), en las actividades de los pequeños comerciantes del cantón Milagro, periodo 2010-2013

La recaudación tributaria efectuada mediante el Servicio de Rentas Internas (SRI), conforma la mayor fuente de ingresos del presupuesto general del estado; por esta razón es importante que todos los contribuyentes cancelen el impuesto que le corresponde de acuerdo a la naturaleza de su actividad, de ahí, la relevancia de la presente tesis, ya que tiene como objetivo: “Determinar como el Régimen Impositivo Simplificado Ecuatoriano (RISE) influye en las actividades de los pequeños comerciantes del cantón Milagro”. Esta investigación busca fortalecer la cultura tributaria de los contribuyentes, de tal forma que las obligaciones de los mismos sean tomadas con más responsabilidad, y así se logre disminuir los niveles de evasión tributaria. Para el efecto, se ha realizado encuestas a los contribuyentes del Régimen Simplificado, entrevista a una experta. Como alternativa de solución se ha planteado la elaboración de una guía tributaria del Régimen Impositivo Simplificado Ecuatoriano, para el correcto procedimiento en las actividades de los pequeños comerciantes del Cantón Milagro
