    The title mol­ecule, C19H18N2O2, is built up from three fused rings, viz. phenyl, pyrrole and cyclo­hexane, linked to a nitro­benzyl group. The C atom bearing the nitro­benzyl group is chiral and the compound is a racemate (R/S). The dihedral angle between the nitro­benzyl and indole rings is 57.49 (5)°. The cyclo­hexane ring adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation

    広島大学デジタル自然史博物館は,広島大学の開学以来長年にわたって蓄積された教育・研究に関する知的資産を外部に公開し,生涯学習や学校教育のために活用することを目的として設置されている。デジタル自然史博物館には生物学や地学とそれに関係する資料が含まれる。特徴のあるコンテンツとしてはコケ植物や世界遺産宮島に関するものがあげられる。コンテンツの大部分は日本語であり,アクセス数は2015年度以降増加傾向にある。今後,現在進めているMediaWiki を使ったシステムへの移行を進めるとともに,コンテンツの充実やICT を使った学習への対応,運用母体の強化などを通じて,教育・研究のためだけでなく地域貢献のためのリソースとして発展させる計画である。The Digital Natural History Museum of Hiroshima University is a cluster of web sites for dissemination and practical use of educational and research resources for lifelong learning as well as school education in collaboration with laboratories and centers of Hiroshima University, Japan. The museum site includes contents on biological, environmental and earth sciences, mainly in Japanese with some English, especially bryophytes and the world heritage listed Itsukushima (Miyajima) Island, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Online site access has increased since 2015. The museum site is now transferring the html based system to the MediaWiki system which is a free and open-source wiki software. For regional studies we plan to expand significantly the content of available resources to enable greater use and ease of access through information and communication technology (ICT)

    Inhibition of invasion and metastasis in oral cancer by targeting urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor

    金沢大学医学部附属病院There have been reports of strong correlations between poor prognosis in various cancers and concomitant expression of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and its surface receptor (uPAR). We and others have previously shown that the uPA system plays a significant role in a subset of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. In the present study, we found that uPAR is required for invasion and metastasis of highly malignant oral cancer cells (OSC-19). Treating OSC-19 cells with antisense oligonucleotides (AS) targeting uPAR resulted in a dramatic decrease of uPAR mRNA expression. Furthermore, pretreatment with AS or siRNA targeting uPAR inhibited progression of OSC-19 cells in experimental models. These results suggest that overexpression of uPAR increases the invasiveness and metastasis of OSC-19 cells, and that uPAR is a promising therapeutic target for regulation of progression of oral cancer

    In this research, we built and administered a syllabus registration system, a course registration system, and a portal system for Shikoku University. These are server-side applications using HTTP server. For this reason users can use them regardless of their OS, browser, or hardware. Browing information about the campus is easier now than it\u27s ever been.We think that these systems will be of great benefit to students. In this paper, we give an outline of the system and explain how it works

    White clover mosaic virus-induced gene silencing in pea

    Double-stranded RNAs formed in secondary structures and replicative intermediates of viral genomes are thought to strongly elicit RNA silencing. This phenomenon is known as virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS). VIGS is a powerful tool for modifying gene expression in host plants. We constructed a virus vector based on White clover mosaic virus (WClMV) and demonstrated VIGS of phytoene desaturase (PDS) in pea. Photobleaching of tissues, caused by VIGS of PDS, was observed in restricted areas of upper leaves and stems. We confirmed that the PDS mRNA and subgenomic RNAs of WClMV were reduced in the photobleached tissues
