On default priors for robust Bayesian estimation with divergences

This paper presents objective priors for robust Bayesian estimation against outliers based on divergences. The minimum $\gamma$-divergence estimator is well-known to work well estimation against heavy contamination. The robust Bayesian methods by using quasi-posterior distributions based on divergences have been also proposed in recent years. In objective Bayesian framework, the selection of default prior distributions under such quasi-posterior distributions is an important problem. In this study, we provide some properties of reference and moment matching priors under the quasi-posterior distribution based on the $\gamma$-divergence. In particular, we show that the proposed priors are approximately robust under the condition on the contamination distribution without assuming any conditions on the contamination ratio. Robustness against outliers in ordinal response model via divergence approach

This study deals with the problem of outliers in ordinal response model, which is a regression on ordered categorical data as the response variable. ``Outlier" means that the combination of ordered categorical data and its covariates is heterogeneous compared to other pairs. Although the ordinal response model is important for data analysis in various fields such as medicine and social sciences, it is known that the maximum likelihood method with probit, logit, log-log and complementary log-log link functions, which are often used, is strongly affected by outliers, and statistical analysts are forced to limit their analysis when there may be outliers in the data. To solve this problem, this paper provides inference methods with two robust divergences (the density-power and $\gamma$-divergences). We also derive influence functions for the proposed methods and show conditions on the link function for them to be bounded and to redescendence. Since the commonly used link functions satisfy these conditions, the analyst can perform robust and flexible analysis with our methods. In addition, and this is a result that further highlights our contributions, we show that the influence function in the maximum likelihood method does not have redescendence for any link function in the ordinal response model. Through numerical experiments using artificial and two real data, we show that the proposed methods perform better than the maximum likelihood method with and without outliers in the data for various link functions.Comment: 30 page

Redox Imbalance Induced by Contact Sensitizers Triggers the Maturation of Dendritic Cells

Although p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) play a crucial role in the activation of monocyte-derived dendritic cells (MoDC) by contact sensitizers, the upstream signals of p38 MAPK remain undetermined. To examine whether sensitizers induce redox or oxidative stress in dendritic cells (DC), which subsequently stimulate p38 MAPK, we measured the ratio of the oxidized (GSSG) versus reduced (GSH) form of cellular glutathione in MoDC stimulated with five sensitizers including NiCl2 and 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) and three non-sensitizers including sodium dodecyl sulfate using colorimetric assays. All the sensitizers, but none of the non-sensitizers at sublethal concentration, reduced the GSH/GSSG ratio, which was accompanied by phosphorylation of p38 MAPK. Treatment with the antioxidant, N-acetyl-L-cysteine, which suppressed the reduction of the GSH/GSSG ratio, abrogated both the phosphorylation of p38 MAPK and the augmentation of CD86 expression. A similar response pattern was observed in THP-1 macrophage-monocyte cells. Unexpectedly, however, formaldehyde (HCHO) reduced the GSH/GSSG ratio in MoDC, but not in THP-1. This finding, in conjunction with the observation that DNCB and NiCl2 reduced the GSH/GSSG ratio at different kinetics, indicated that the sensitizers reduced the GSH/GSSG ratio by a different mechanism. These data suggest that the GSH/GSSG imbalance plays a crucial role in triggering DC maturation by sensitizers

教育実習における実習記録を通して見る保育者としての成長

本論の目的は,教育実習における実習記録及び指導案への実習生と指導担当保育者の記述内容について,両者のずれに着目して質的に分析し,保育者としての成長に必要な諸要素とその構造を仮説的に提示することである.実習生と保育者の記述内容を分析した結果,(1)発達過程の理解,(2)状況を把握する際の視点(1.子どもの視点の考慮,2.子どもの個性の考慮,3.子どもの内面の考慮,4.行為の過程の考慮),(3)意識する時間の範囲(1.過去の経験の考慮,2.未来に繋がる現在の経験の考慮),に関して,実習生と保育者との間に存在する相違を指摘することができた.それらの分析をもとに,実習生と保育者との相違の要因となる構造を仮説的に提示し,実習前の指導における利用について言及した

1歳児クラスにおける「かみつき」行動の実態と要因の検討 : 或る保育所における1年間の記録の分析を通して

本論は，或る保育所の1歳児クラスにおける「かみつき」行動の記録の分析を通して，保育所保育における「かみつき」行動の実態とその要因を検討するものである．具体的には，12ヶ月にわたる「かみつき」行動の状況を明示するとともに，「かみつき」行動と曜日や月齢との関係，子ども同士の関係等について検討した．その結果，当該保育所の1歳児クラスでは，(1)1年間を通して「かみつき」行動を全く受けない子どもは1名もいなかった，(2)1年間を通じて子どもの約85％が「かみつき」行動を示した，(3)「かみつき」行動は月曜日に最も多く見られ，週末にかけて減少傾向にあった，(4)「かみつき」行動は月齢22～26ヶ月に最も多かった，(5)「かみつき」行動を頻回に受けるのは活発に遊ぶ子どもであり，逆に受ける回数が少ないのは友達との関わりが少ない子どもであったことなどを明らかにした．また，先行研究や保育所で聴取した内容を交えて，子どもの生活リズムの調整や活動時の子どもの密度を減らす工夫の重要性について指摘した．今後の課題として，子どもの発達と行動との関係に関する丁寧な記録の蓄積と，受動児の特徴にも目を向けた調査研究の必要性が示唆された

保護者像の分類と家庭の教育力向上との関連

本論は,保護者像が人々の認識に与える影響を検証し,家庭の教育力向上を目指した保護者支援を検討することを目的とする研究の端緒とするものである.本論では,保護者像の概念を整理するとともに,保護者像を介して保護者の認識に働きかけることの意義を考察した.先ず,保護者像を,自身の保護者に対する心象,理想とする保護者像,社会に存在する保護者像の3種に分類し,それぞれの関係について示した.次に,保護者のもつ保護者像と実際の保護者としての行動との関連を指摘し,保護者像を介して保護者の認識に働きかける意義について述べた.最後に,文部科学省の家庭教育支援事業を取り上げ,その取組の中で保護者の認識への働きかけが重視されていることを示し,保護者像に関する研究の必要性と今後の課題について述べた

幼稚園教諭養成課程における教材研究力の育成に関する一考察 : 『幼児期から児童期への教育』の分析を通して

本論は，幼稚園教育における教材及び教材研究の方法について考察し，幼稚園教諭養成課程における教材研究の力量を向上させる方途を検討するものである．具体的には，国立教育政策研究所教育課程研究センターによる『幼児期から児童期への教育』を幼稚園教育における教材及び教材の研究に焦点を当てて分析した．その結果，幼稚園教育における教材研究には，(1)指導内容との関連における教材の選定・構成，(2)実際の活動における指導案，(3)指導内容・教材に関する文化・特性，(4)一般的な幼児の発達，(5)園に在籍する幼児の特徴・個性，(6)幼児に即した柔軟な対応，の観点が重要となることを示した．また，幼稚園教育における教材研究の複雑さについて明示した．最後に，幼稚園教諭養成課程における教材研究の力量を向上させるための方策について検討した．今後の課題として，演習に利用し得る教材の開発と，その教育効果の確認の必要性を指摘した
