The research conducted on the topic ‘Viewership analysis of News channels with special reference to Asianet news is basically a comparative analysis of 4 leading News channels in the region.. The research  comprises of the response obtained out of a sample of news channel viewers and a study on the various aspects of the news channels that are preferred by viewers with an investigation on the reasons for the same. Here, primary data was obtained by methods of Direct interviews, Telephonic Interviews and also by mail using a well-designed and structured questionnaire. Dichotomous scale, Semantic differential scale and Likert scale are the commonly used scales of measurement for the topic under study. The study focuses on finding out the reasons behind the comparatively lower rating of Asianet news in the city of Cochin. Simultaneously, it also tends to investigate on various attributes such as the news viewership pattern in the region, the core competencies of each news channel, the approximate time a viewer spends watching news a day, the opinion on the content of news programs, the preference of the viewers towards the presentation styles, news readers, graphic content and the like and also the category of news most preferred by the viewers. Random and convenience sampling techniques were used for the data collection procedure. The result ultimately suggests that Asianet News is  preferred by  majority of the viewers followed by Manorama News which leads in certain attributes like credibility of News content, accuracy of reports, Unbiased reporting of news, deep analysis and detailing, presentation styles and latest news updates . Certain key factors such the attitude and presentation style of the News Reader, unbiased analysis of the news content and strong preference towards political satires are also found to be influential in driving higher rating and viewership for the channels

Background: India was the first country in the world to formulate the national family planning programme in the year 1952 with the objective of “reducing the birth rate to the extent necessary to stabilize the population at a level consistent with requirement of national economy. The objective of this study was to study contraceptive use among married women of reproductive age group in a rural area of Tamilnadu. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted from December 2014 to January 2015 in Sree Mookambika institute of medical Sciences, Kulasekharam among the married women in eligible couples group attending the hospital. Sample size was calculated to be 84. Inclusion criteria: married couple with female in age group of 15 - 45 years and sexually active and having the ability to communicate in local language. Results: The mean age was 30.95 years (SD = 6.421). Formal education was received by 100% women. Majority are Christians (48.8%) followed by Hindu (46.4%) and Muslim (4.8%). Among the respondents (n = 84), 33.7%, 41.7%, 2.4% and 22.6% had parity of 1, 2, 3 or more and none respectively Most of the women (71.4%) belonged to middle class group. 94% of women were aware of sterilization. This study shows a significant association between number of children and contraception usage (p<0.05). As parity increases contraception usage rate increases. Similar association is seen between number of male children and contraception practice (0.006). Also acceptance for permanent method of family planning increased with increasing parity (0.00) and number of male children (0.04).Conclusions: The study reveals good knowledge and favorable attitude of rural couples towards contraception. Contraceptive knowledge and practice was influenced by exposure to family planning messages

ENZYMOSOMES: A RISING EFFECTUAL TOOL FOR TARGETED DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM

The study aims to develop enzymosomes as an emerging novel drug delivery system for site-specific action. Enzymosomes utilises the specific nature of an enzyme, which is binding to a specific substrate at a controlled rate and catalysing product production step. An enzyme is encapsulated by coupling covalently to the surface of liposomes/lipid vesicles to form enzymosomes. Enzymes links through acylation, direct conjugation, physical adsorption, encapsulation methods to prepare enzymosomes with targeted action. Such novel drug delivery systems prove effective drug release and concomitantly reduces undesirable side effects of conventional treatment methods and hence showcase improvement in the long-term therapy of the disease. They are a promising substitute to conventional treatment therapies of gout, antiplatelet activities etc. Enzymosomes are newly designed supramolecular vesicular delivery systems to be useful as a tool in pharmaceutics for the raising of drug targeting and physicochemical properties and hence bioavailability. It shows beneficial effects of drugs with a narrow precision because targeting of these drugs to their site of action improves the drugs overall pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetic profile. It also minimizes alterations in the normal enzymatic activity, thus enhancing half-life and achieve enzyme activity on targeted sites such as cancerous cells
