Counterexamples to C∞ C^{\infty} well posedness for some hyperbolic operators with triple characteristics

In this paper we prove that for a class of non-effectively hyperbolic operators with smooth triple characteristics the Cauchy problem is well posed in the Gevrey 2 class, beyond the generic Gevrey class $3/2$ (see e.g. \cite{Bro}). Moreover we show that this value is optimal

Dans cet article publié deux ans après la parution de son maître ouvrage, Qu’est-ce que la religion ? (1961), auquel il est fait allusion dans les dernières lignes, Nishitani jette un regard rétrospectif sur son parcours philosophique. Plutôt que de rédiger un essai autobiographique, l’auteur y adopte une perspective analytique sur sa propre démarche et s’efforce d’expliciter la position philosophique (articulée autour de la question du nihilisme) qui est la sienne, qu’il a forgée très tôt dans sa carrière et à partir de laquelle il faut comprendre sa pratique de la philosophie. Tout l’intérêt de ce texte réside dans la jonction qu’il établit entre les préoccupations du jeune Nishitani pour la question du nihilisme et ses réflexions de maturité, imprégnées de l’héritage spirituel du bouddhisme.In this essay, published two years after his masterpiece Religion and Nothingness (1961), to which he alludes in the last lines, Nishitani ponders over his own philosophical odyssey. Rather than offering an autobiographical sketch, the author tries to expound analytically his own philosophical standpoint (articulated around the question of nihilism), which he forged early in his career and from which his practice of philosophy is to be understood. The interest of this essay lies in the fact that it connects his early preoccupations for the question of nihilism to his later reflections, which bear the spiritual legacy of Buddhism
