Assessment of the risk of osteosarcoma recurrence in canine long bone replants
This paper presents data on the risk of recurrence of osteosarcoma in the tissue exposed to radiation and freezed bone replants, used for replacing of bone defects in organ-preserving surgical operations on canine long bones. The best option of reconstructive surgery during replacement of bone graft in patients with bone tumors is obtaining of graft directly during the operation from the resected bone after pretreatment. One way of anticancer treatment of replanted bone is its single-phase exposition to radiation in vitro at the dose of 200 Gray (Gy) after preliminary freezing in liquid nitrogen vapor. Influence of the βActive Mixβ supplement with separate administration of antagonistic components on the structure of the mice internal organs
The question of the need for separate administration of feed additivesβ components that are antagonistic from the point of view of their chemical properties and physiological effects has long been debated among researchers. The authors have proposed a new supplement based on chelate compounds, which componentsβ effect on the organism of laboratory animals has been partially considered earlier. However, the assessment of the componentsβ effects on the morphology of the excretory and reproductive systemsβ organs has not been studied. In this regard, the work considered the effect of feed additive components with separate introduction of chemically and physiologically antagonistic components on the pathoanatomical picture, as well as the microstructure of the kidneys and testes of laboratory mice to assess potentially negative effects on the excretory and reproductive systems. The supplement was administered orally at various dosages. The organ structure was assessed after 1, 2 weeks and 1 month. The microstructure of the kidneys and testes was histologically studied in the experiment and control. The negative influence absence of the supplement components in the entire range of applied dosages is shown. The absence of visible deviations of the pathoanatomical picture during autopsy of experimental animals was noted
Assessment of the risk of osteosarcoma recurrence in canine long bone replants
This paper presents data on the risk of recurrence of osteosarcoma in the tissue exposed to radiation and freezed bone replants, used for replacing of bone defects in organ-preserving surgical operations on canine long bones. The best option of reconstructive surgery during replacement of bone graft in patients with bone tumors is obtaining of graft directly during the operation from the resected bone after pretreatment. One way of anticancer treatment of replanted bone is its single-phase exposition to radiation in vitro at the dose of 200 Gray (Gy) after preliminary freezing in liquid nitrogen vapor. The main goal of the present work was the analysis of peripheral blood in case of surgical pathology in dogs with gastric dilation and volvulus as well as correction of post-operative state by RBC transfusion. Scientific supplies of domestic and foreign authors that influenced the use of blood transfusion and control of various types of correction in life-threatening conditions served as methodological basis of the scientific study. The studies used methods of clinical examination characterizing the pathogenetic aspects of the problem being studied. During the period of post-op observation of the animals anemia was detected on Day 1-7, thrombocytopenia on Day 1-3, as well as severe immunosuppression caused by the development of anesthesia and splenectomy, which was confirmed by lymphopenia and thrombocytopenia on Day 1-3. The study has shown that the use of packed red blood cells in the early post-op period reduces the severity of anemia, and the severity of the inflammatory process. Administration of donor red blood cells reduces immunosuppressive effect of splenectomy and effects of general anesthesia, triggers the production of platelets, reticulocytes, thereby stimulating cell proliferation to the reparative processes. The use of packed red blood cells in case of severe abdominal pathology in dogs in the post-op period is a promising direction for the development of hemotransfusion in the veterinary surgery
