ArticleThe aim of the study was to determine the efficiency of the barley treatment crops with modern retrograde preparations on the background of the mineral fertilizers introduction into the photosynthetic activity of crops and grain yield. The experiments were carried out in 2013 -2017 on the southern black soil in the conditions of the Ukrainian Steppe. On the basis of the study results, it was determined that the introduction of irrigated fertilizer barley in a dose of N30P30 (background) under pre-sowing cultivation and the application of extra-root crop supplements at the phases beginning of the barley outflow straw into the tube and the organoleptic fermentation of Organic D2 and natural microbial complex Escort - Bio creates favorable conditions for the formation at the optimal levels of photosynthetic parameters and grain yield. Thus, on average, over the years of research and by factor variety, grain yield on these experimental variants was 3.37–3.41 t ha-1 , which exceeded its level on uncontrolled control by 0.71–0.75 t ha-1 or 26.7–28.2%. Based on the study results, the use of modern regenerating agents against the background of mineral fertilizers can be recommended as an expedient and effective measure of spring barley raising the productivity

The purpose of this research was to determine the biochemical contents in black (Morus nigra L.) mulberry genotypes grown in Kütahya Province. Total soluble solids content, pH, titratable acidity, total phenolics, vitamin C, DPPH radical scavenging activity, and soluble sugars (fructose, glucose, and sucrose) of black mulberry genotypes were determined at the end of the study. The highest total phenolics value was detected in SIM02 (2995.16 mg GAE g-1). The SIM03 genotype had the highest vitamin C content of 31.34 mg 100 g-1. The study indicated that radical scavenging activity (DPPH) of 19.05 (SIM03) was the highest. In terms of the most valuable chemical composition, the SIM01, SIM02 and SIM03 genotypes can be suggested and used for future breeding reasons. It is desirable to take actions in Turkey to conduct an extensive conservation program for Morus nigra biodiversity

The issue of ascending aortic repair with concomitant aortic valve replacement in pa-tients with ascending aortic aneurysm (AscAA) and aortic valve stenosis is still debatable.Aim. To analyze the dimension changes of the preserved aortic root after simultaneous ascending aorta repair and aortic valve replacement.Material and methods. This retrospective study included 102 patients who, from December 2012 to May 2022, underwent simultaneous aortic valve replacement and ascending aorta repair with hemiarch replacement. Patients were divided into 2 following groups based on the aortic valve morphology: group 1 — patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and AscAA (n=75), group 2 — patients with tricuspid aortic valve (TAV) and AscAA (n=27). Depending on the presence of aortic root dilatation (maximum diameter (d) >40 mm), each of the groups was additionally stratified into 2 more subgroups as follows: patients without aortic root dilatation (d≤40 mm) and patients with its dilatation (d>40 mm). The dynamics of the aortic root diameter was assessed by computed tomography angiography.Results. The mean follow-up period for patients was 36,2±14,6 months. Survival rate in the BAV+AscAA and TAV+AscAA groups was 96% and 100%, respectively (p=0,380). Freedom from aortic root resurgery was 100% in both study groups. In patients with dilated and non-dilated aortic root of the BAV+AscAA group, an increase in aortic root dimension was noted at a rate of 0,65±0,51 mm/year and 0,32±0,27 mm/year, respectively. In patients of the TAV+AscAA group, a regression in dilated and non-dilated aortic root diameter was observed as follows: 0,93±0,48 mm/year and 0,56±0,43 mm/year, respectively.Conclusion. In patients with AscAA in combination with BAV stenosis after a singlestep surgical intervention, a weak negative dynamics of non-dilated and dilated aortic root is observed in the mid-term follow-up period. In patients with AscAA and TAV, there is involutive alterations of the aortic root dimension during 3-year follow-up

The aim of the study was to investigate the prevalence of acute viral hepatitises A, B and C in the Volgograd region; the range and identification of the most frequently prescribed pharmacological groups to be used in hospital environment; and analyzing the price dynamics of medicines. These factors will make it possible to assess the state of the medicine provision for the patients with this disease in hospital environment. Materials and methods. In the study, the following methods have been used: comparison, a method of grouping indicators and a structurallogical method. The materials were the hepatological department patients’ treatment sheets (Volgograd Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital N1).Results. Acute hepatitis A is the most common (46.9%), acute hepatitis B occupies the second position (27.4%), and acute hepatitis C – the third one (25.7%), where in 46.2%, 23.5% and 14.7%, respectively, are accounted for by icteric viral hepatitis. Hepatoprotectors, symptomatic medications and rehydration and detoxification medicinal preparations are prescribed for all forms and degrees of the disease severity.Conclusion. The study has revealed a decreased morbidity of acute viral hepatitises A, B and an increased morbidity of acute viral hepatitis C in the Volgograd region. Among all the types of hepatitises, the prevailing one is the icteric form of moderate severity. The range of medicinal preparations prescribed for the treatment of acute viral hepatitises has been studied. Most often, doctors prescribe hepatoprotectors, rehydration and detoxification medicinal preparations. The study of price dynamics, showed a predominant increase in hepatoprotectors and a decrease in medicines for rehydration and detoxification. The results obtained indicate a tendency towards the improvement of drug provision in the Volgograd Region, for the patients with acute viral hepatitises. Besides, the results of the study give an opportunity to consider the ways of its further optimization

Motor and sensory alalia: diagnostic difficulties

No full text
Alalia is a speech disorder that develops due to organic brain damage in children with normal hearing and intelligence during the first three year of life. Systemic speech underdevelopment in alalia is characterized by violations in the phonetic, phonemic, lexical, and grammatical structure. Patients with alalia can also have non-speech related impairments, including motor (impaired movement and coordination), sensory (impaired sensitivity and perception), and psychopathological disorders. There are three types of alalia: motor, sensory, and mixed. Children with motor alalia have expressive language disorders, speech praxis, poor speech fluency, impaired articulation, and other focal neurological symptoms; however, they understand speech directed to them. Patients with motor alalia are often left-handed. Regional slowing and epileptiform activity are often detected on their electroencephalogram. Children with sensory alalia are characterized by poor speech understanding (despite normal hearing) resulting in secondary underdevelopment of their own speech. These patients have problems with the analysis of sounds, including speech sounds (impaired speech gnosis), which prevents the development of association between the sound image and the object. Therefore, the child hears, but does not understand the speech directed at him/her (auditory agnosia). Differential diagnosis of alalia is challenging and may require several months of observation. It also implies the exclusion of hearing loss and mental disorders

Background: In the Russian Federation, newborn screening comprises thyroid stimulating hormone determination to exclude primary congenital hypothyroidism. Screening is carried out throughout Russia. Neonatal TSH can be used to assess iodine deficiency and monitor iodine prevention programs. Objective: To assess and compare official statistical data on congenital hypothyroidism, the prevalence of hypothyroidism and iodine deficiency syndrome in children, as well as urinary iodine in the Russian regions.Materials and methods: The level of neonatal TSH was determined in 97.69% of children born in the Russian Federation in 2017. This article represents the results on the prevalence of hypothyroidism in the regions with various iodine availability. The correlation analysis was used to assess the relationship of CH incidence in newborns and iodine availability. Results: The calculated correlation coefficient, which was 0.2, reflects a weak relationship between the degree of iodine deficiency in the region and the number of newborns diagnosed with congenital hypothyroidism. Conclusions: In the Russian Federation, a law on universal salt iodization does not exist, and many regions are still in conditions of moderate or severe iodine deficiency. To assess the iodine status in these particular regions, we could use the results of newborn TSH screenin
