Abstract Let us consider a simple graph . The energy of the graph is defined as the sum of the absolute values of the eigen values of the adjacency matrix [1] & [2]. The energy of , denoted by , is called Skew- Hermitian Randić energy, which is defined as the sum of the absolute values of its eigenvalues of , that is, [9]. The total π electron energy of conjugated hydrocarbon molecules are closely connected with graph invariant[10],[11]. Recently based on the eigen values of graph matrices various energies are computed. For a graph matrix, we can determine the eigen values based on which we can compute the energy of the graph. In this paper, we have determined the Skew-Hermitian Randic Energy of some standard graphs[13],[14],[15]

Delivery of drugs into the brain is one of the most interesting and challenging areas of research. The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is a highly selective semipermeable membrane that separates blood from the brain in the central nervous system. It acts as a barrier to protect the brain from microbes, neurotoxins and other chemical substances and also blocks the entry of many drugs into the brain. An estimated 6.8 billion people die every year from CNS diseases like Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, sclerosis, brain stroke, dementia and others. According to WHO, one billion people are affected worldwide, about 50 million suffer from epilepsy and 24 million suffer from Alzheimer and other dementias. This indicates the importance of the delivery of drugs into the brain for treating various neurological diseases and psychological disorders. In drug targeting, a concept was introduced by Dr. Paul Ehrlich as a ‘magic bullet’ that gave tremendous hope for the researches to deliver drugs into the brain. This review discuses about various drug targeting strategies and applications of nanotechnology in designing drug delivery systems with the ability to cross through the BBB for treating neurological diseases

N‐heterocyclic carbene catalyzed photoenolization/Diels–Alder reaction of acid fluorides

    Get PDF
The combination of light activation and N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) organocatalysis has enabled the use of acid fluorides as substrates in a UVA‐light‐mediated photochemical transformation previously observed only with aromatic aldehydes and ketones. Stoichiometric studies and TD‐DFT calculations support a mechanism involving the photoactivation of an ortho‐toluoyl azolium intermediate, which exhibits “ketone‐like” photochemical reactivity under UVA irradiation. Using this photo‐NHC catalysis approach, a novel photoenolization/Diels–Alder (PEDA) process was developed that leads to diverse isochroman‐1‐one derivatives

    Get PDF
BACKGROUND: Autoreactive B cell (B-1a) may play a role in the pathogenesis of periodontal disease and this study was undertaken to elicit the autoimmune nature of B-1a cell in periodontal health and disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty gingival tissue samples were collected from two groups of patients (periodontal health-Group A and periodontal disease- Group B). The tissue sections were paraffanised and processed. B-1a cell expression in connective tissue was determined using CD5+ as a marker by immunohistochemical analysis. Intensity of staining was assessed and interexaminer error was calculated by kappa analysis. The mean labeling index was statistically analysed using independent ‘t’ test. RESULTS: A good interexaminer agreement was observed between two examiners while assessing intensity. Comparison of mean labeling index between the two study groups was not statistically significant since p value was >0.01 (p value = 0.276). CONCLUSION: An increase in the number of autoreactive B-1a cells (CD5+) has been found in periodontitis as compared to healthy gingival specimens, which was found to be statistically insignificant

Erythema multiforme (EM) is a hypersensitivity reaction characterized by varying degrees of blisters and ulcerations. We report a case of 4 y old girl child born for Non-custodial parents who has a history of seizures and a known case of carbamazepine-induced SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) when treated with anti-inflammatory drugs developed EM. The offending drug was identified and withdrawn. Steroid was given as a part of symptomatic treatment. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are one of the most commonly prescribed groups of drugs for a variety of indications. The patient gradually improved and got discharged

Sea Water Channel for Underwater Communication

    Get PDF
A potential underwater communication technology is water communication. Because of the limited physical scale, testing underwater data transmission in the laboratory differs from testing in a real-world water environment. Albeit fake dispersing specialists have been utilized to reproduce submerged correspondence through water channels under various correspondence climate conditions after the last many years, the comparability between test water and regular water isn’t dependable, for instance, the likeness of recurrence area qualities. It examines a number of distinct substances that precisely alter the water’s coefficients. As a reliability criterion for water recreation, the frequency range of data transmission through the test water’s water channel is then measured and compared. The findings demonstrate that the nature of the substances and the size of the particles have a significant impact on the properties of this water, and that the concentration of substances has an effect on the frequency domain portion of the water communication signal. If the water between the gaps contains a separate tx and rx module. Modules enable us to inform the onboard monitoring manager of marine scientist interactions and biomedical conditions

ABSTRACT: National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC) receives data from different remote satellites like IRS-P6, IRS-P5, Cartosat-2, Cartosat-2a, etc., and processes it depending on the user requirements. The satellite data received in X band is in a particular data format. This data has to be frame synchronized using a special hardware. The receiver hardware setup must be ready at any time to make it ready it"s performance is to be tested continuously. The frequency with which satellite data is coming is also continuously tested . In the proposed project VHDL code has been developed for BER reader with differential encoding and decoding and frequency reader. The external frequency and number of errors in satellite data will be displayed on HP display devices. This project has been implemented and tested using the ALTERA EPLDs. This needs crystal oscillators, thumb wheel switches,7 segment display etc., must be programmed as per the requirement. The hardware required for this has been implemented on the wire-warp board

Beneficial health effects of cumin (Cuminum cyminum) seeds upon incorporation as a potential feed additive in livestock and poultry: A mini-review

    Get PDF
Cumin (Cuminum cyminum Linn) is an annual plant of the family Umbelliferae, with its use dating back to ancient times when it was cultivated for its medicinal and culinary potential. Cumin seeds could contain a wide variety of phytochemicals, including alkaloids, coumarins, anthraquinones, flavonoids, glycosides, proteins, resins, saponins, tannins, and steroids. In particular, linoleic acid, one of the unsaturated fatty acids found in abundance in cumin oleoresin, is credited with promoting good health. Many of cumin's purported biological actions in livestock and poultry have been attributed to flavonoids such as apigenin, luteolin, and glycosides. Cumin has several healthful qualities, such as antibacterial, insecticidal, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant, anticancer, anti-diabetic, anti-platelet aggregation, hypotensive, bronchodilatory, immunological, anti-amyloidogenic, and anti-osteoporotic properties. Cumin supplementation may improve milk production and reproductive function in dairy cows by altering the feeding pattern of bacteria in the rumen, encouraging the growth of beneficial microbes, or stimulating the secretion of certain digestive enzymes. Because of the low price of cumin seed, it could be concluded that its inclusion in the diet might be beneficial to the commercial poultry industry and reduce the overall cost of egg and meat production. In recent years a rise in cumin's popularity has been seen as a result of the herbal movement spearheaded by naturopaths, yoga gurus, advocates of alternative medicine, and manufacturers of feed additives. Animal nutritionists are exploring the use of cumin for its potential to boost growth, improve nutrient usage efficiency, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This mini-review discusses how cumin could be used as a feed ingredient to boost productivity and ensure healthy animal reproduction
