    AbstractIn this paper we intend to present a review of the National Curriculum continuity in mathematics, in terms of content, from the primary to the secondary. The issues on which we have committed are related to “outputs” learning mathematics fourth class and “inputs” appropriate grade. Because a complete analysis of mathematics curricular content can not be included in an article like this, we summarize only the learning content “fraction”.     NoAt the 2005 British Academy of Management conference several well-known economic geographers, including Neil Wrigley, Gordon Clark, and Susan Christopherson, called for management researchers to engage with economic geographers on interrelated geographical and managerial issues in the study of (retail) firms. In this commentary we reflect upon the present geography -management interface.We begin by considering the term `interdisciplinary research' and its relationship to any management - geography interface. This is followed by a context-specific discussion of international retailing and the role of research on the retail transnational corporation (TNC) in developing an interdisciplinary agenda. This commentary represents an initial more business and management focused response to the call from geography academics for more/better interdisciplinary research at the geography - management interface

    Edge- and Node-Disjoint Paths in P Systems

    In this paper, we continue our development of algorithms used for topological network discovery. We present native P system versions of two fundamental problems in graph theory: finding the maximum number of edge- and node-disjoint paths between a source node and target node. We start from the standard depth-first-search maximum flow algorithms, but our approach is totally distributed, when initially no structural information is available and each P system cell has to even learn its immediate neighbors. For the node-disjoint version, our P system rules are designed to enforce node weight capacities (of one), in addition to edge capacities (of one), which are not readily available in the standard network flow algorithms.Comment: In Proceedings MeCBIC 2010, arXiv:1011.005

    Analytic parametrizations of the non-perturbative Pomeron and QCD-inspired models

    We consider several classes of analytic parametrizations of hadronic scattering amplitudes, and compare their predictions to all available forward data (proton- proton, antiproton-proton, pion-proton, kaon-proton, photon-proton, photon- photon, sigma-proton).     Analytic Amplitude Models for Forward Scattering

    We report on fits of a large class of analytic amplitude models for forward scattering against the comprehensive data for all available reactions. To differentiate the goodness of the fits of many possible parametrizations to a large sample of data, we developed and used a set of quantitative indicators measuring statistical quality of the fits over and beyond the typical criterion of the X2/dof\Chi^2 /dof.     Forward observables at RHIC, the Tevatron run II and the LHC

    We present predictions on the total cross sections and on the ratio of the real part to the imaginary part of the elastic amplitude (rho parameter) for present and future pp and pbar p colliders, and on total cross sections for gamma p -> hadrons at cosmic-ray energies and for gamma gamma -> hadrons up to sqrt(s)=1 TeV. These predictions are based on a study of many possible analytic parametrisations and invoke the current hadronic dataset at t=0.     Liver resections in hepatocarcinoma – preliminary results

Carcinomul hepatocelular (CHC) este forma dominantă de malignitate hepatică primitivă şi este diferită histologic şi etiologic de alte forme de cancer hepatic. Incidența în lume variază între 2 şi 30 de cazuri/ 100000 locuitori/an, iar în România după ultimele date este de 4-10/100000 locuitori/an. Carcinomul hepatocelular este o cauză importantă de deces prin cancer în întreaga lume, iar incidența sa este de aşteptat să crească în continuare în următorii ani. Rezecția chirurgicală a tumorii este cea mai bună metodă de tratament și are șansa de vindecare cea mai mare. Material și Metodă. Am efectuat un studiu prospectiv în perioada 01.04.2009-30.06.2011 pe 17 pacienți cu hepatocarcinom tratați în Clinica I Chirurgie. Au fost incluși doar pacienții la care s-a practicat rezecție hepatică. Rezultate. Din numărul total de pacienți au predominat bărbații reprezentând 64,7%. Vârsta medie a fost de 59,6 ani cu extreme între 25 ani și 78 ani. În 14 cazuri CHC s-a dezvoltat pe hepatită virală cronică. La 58.8% din pacienți localizarea a fost în lobul drept, iar în lobul stâng la 41,2%. Am avut complicații postoperatorii la 4 pacienți și un deces. Concluzii. Rezecția hepatică se poate efectua la pacienții cu CHC în condiții sigure chiar și la cei cu ciroză hepatică. Această metodă de tratament trebuie efectuată de fiecare dată când este posibil deoarece are complicații minime și cel mai bun prognostic.Introduction. The hepatocarcinoma (HCC) is the dominant type of primary liver malignant tumors, with a different etiology and histology comparing to others liver malignancies. The worldwide annual incidence varies between 2 and 30 cases/100000 inhabitants. The incidence of hepatocarcinoma in Romania is 4 to 10 cases/100000 inhabitants per year. The hepatocellular carcinoma represent an important cause of death through malignancies, with a predictive raising in the next years. The liver resection is the rational and potentially curative therapy. Material and methods. This paper is based on a prospective study between 01.06.2009- 30.06.2011; we included 17 patients with hepatocarcinoma treated in 1st Surgical Clinic of St. Spiridon Hospital, considering only the patients with liver resection. Results. The males represented 64,5% of all the patients included in our study, the medium age was 54,7 years, with age limits between 25 and 78. In 14 of the cases the HCC developped on chronic viral hepatitis. In 58,5% of the cases the tumor was localised in the right liver, in the left liver the percentage being 41,5%. We had 4 postoperative complications and 1 death. Conclusions. The liver resection is a safe procedure for the patients with hepatocarcinoma, even the liver cirrhosis developped. This treatment procedure should be considered in all the selected cases, the resection having the best prognosis and minimally complications

    Spin asymmetries for elastic proton scattering and the spin dependent couplings of the Pomeron

    This paper serves as a report on the large amount of analysis done in conjunction with the polarized proton program at RHIC. This comprises elastic scattering data of protons on protons in colliding beam or fixed target mode and proton beams on carbon targets. In addition to providing a model for the energy dependence of the analyzing power of elastic scattering needed for proton polarimetry, it also provides some significant information about the spin dependence of dominant Regge poles. Most notably, the data indicates that the Pomeron has a significant spin-flip coupling. This allows the exploration of the double spin flip asymmetry A_{NN} for which some data over a wide energy range is now available, along with a concrete realization of a proposed Odderon search.Comment: final reference modife
