    Defect-Mediated Emulsification in Two Dimensions

    Get PDF
We consider two dimensional dispersions of droplets of isotropic phase in a liquid with an XY-like order parameter, tilt, nematic, and hexatic symmetries being included. Strong anchoring boundary conditions are assumed. Textures for a single droplet and a pair of droplets are calculated and a universal droplet-droplet pair potential is obtained. The interaction of dispersed droplets via the ordered phase is attractive at large distances and repulsive at short distances, which results in a well defined preferred separation for two droplets and topological stabilization of the emulsion. This interaction also drives self-assembly into chains. Preferred separations and energy barriers to coalescence are calculated, and effects of thermal fluctuations and film thickness are discussed.Comment: revtex4, 13 pages, 12 figure

DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES OF THE RUSSIAN TOURIST-RECREATIONAL COMPLEX

    Get PDF
The main tasks facing the tourist and recreational complex of Russia with a view to making it a highly profitable branch of the national economy of Russia were revealed: developing the infrastructure component of the Russian tourist complex, improving the quality of hotel and tourist services, and promoting Russia as a tourist center on the world tourism market. The example of a number of tourist and recreational clusters shows what has been done to date through the use of a program-targeted method that involves the use of federal budget funds, the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the attraction of extrabudgetary sources. Further opportunities for the development of domestic and inbound tourism based on structural market changes that began in 2014 are outlined. The principles for the development of a tourism development strategy for the long-term period are formulated

    Broadband SHF Direction-Finder

The original design of the compact broadband direction-finder is presented in this paper. The cylindrical monopole antenna serves as a primary source of the reflector- type antenna. \"Zero-amplitude\" technique is used for bearing the SHF sources. The model experiments with the proposed direction-finder prototype in the frequency band 6 GHz – 11 GHz have been carried out

Quantum Noise for Faraday Light Matter Interfaces

    No full text
In light matter interfaces based on the Faraday effect quite a number of quantum information protocols have been successfully demonstrated. In order to further increase the performance and fidelities achieved in these protocols a deeper understanding of the relevant noise and decoherence processes needs to be gained. In this article we provide for the first time a complete description of the decoherence from spontaneous emission. We derive from first principles the effects of photons being spontaneously emitted into unobserved modes. Our results relate the resulting decay and noise terms in effective equations of motion for collective atomic spins and the forward propagating light modes to the full atomic level structure. We illustrate and apply our results to the case of a quantum memory protocol. Our results can be applied to any suitable atomic species, and the general approach taken in this article can be applied to light matter interfaces and quantum memories based on different mechanisms

In the modern period of competition size and nature change, becoming international in nature, the sustainable development of Russia is of high priority. The most important factor in ensuring sustainable development of the country is the increase of economic entities efficiency and competitiveness through the use of innovative management tools.Aaldersom R., E. Andersonom, S. Wilson, M. Donnellan, E. Jordan, B. Trinkl, JB Heywood and a number of other foreign theorists and practitioners considered outsourcing problems as an innovative tool to improve the efficiency of entities operation. Despite the fact that outsourcing is a relatively new subject of research in the Russian management literature, comprehensive works by B. Anikin, S. Baranenko, S. Kalendzhyan, N. Lyasnikova, E.Platonovoy, I. Rudoy, V. Sinyaeva, etc. have been developed. The abundance of research denotes the importance and topicality of the problem. The article deals with the theoretical and methodological aspects of outsourcing, identifies opportunities of outsourcing use as a tool for the development of strategic competitiveness and sustainability of the national economic entities. The features of efficient interaction between the customer and the contractor in the process of business workflow process delivery for outsourcing are examined and the sequence of relations formation and development between outsourcing subjects is justified
