The Effect of Oral Microbes on Human
The goal of the current study is the effect of oral microbes on humans. What are the microbes that are present in the mouth area, and what is the extent of their impact on the upper area of humans (mouth, teeth, upper and lower jaw)? The questionnaire was created electronically via the Google Drive program, and then distributed via mobile phone to Social Media Program (The target population is residents of the city of Makkah, who are between the ages of 25-55 years. The social network WhatsApp was used to distribute 450 questionnaires, and the researcher received electronic responses to 440 questionnaires via email
An Iterative Learning Control Technique for Point-to-Point Maneuvers Applied on an Overhead Crane
An iterative learning control (ILC) strategy is proposed, and implemented on simple pendulum and double pendulum models of an overhead crane undergoing simultaneous traveling and hoisting maneuvers. The approach is based on generating shaped commands using the full nonlinear equations of motion combined with the iterative learning control, to use as acceleration commands to the jib of the crane. These acceleration commands are tuned to eliminate residual oscillations in rest-to-rest maneuvers. The performance of the proposed strategy is tested using an experimental scaled model of an overhead crane with hoisting. The shaped command is derived analytically and validated experimentally. Results obtained showed that the proposed ILC control strategy is capable of eliminating travel and residual oscillations in simple and double pendulum models with hoisting. It is also shown, in all cases, that the proposed approach has a low sensitivity to the initial cable lengths
Coordinated program between primary care and sleep unit for the management of obstructive sleep apnea
The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a work model in the primary health-care setting for identifying patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) based on clinical variables and an ambulatory sleep monitoring study. After screening, patients with mild-moderate OSAHS could be managed by primary care physicians, whereas those identified with severe OSAHS would be referred to specialists from sleep units for starting specific treatment. The proposed model does not move the entire health-care process to a generally overburdened primary care level and favors the coordinated work and the necessary flexibility to adapt the model to challenges and perspectives of OSAHS
