Rate and Mechanism of the Oxidative Addition of Benzoic Anhydride to Palladium(0) Complexes in DMF

The rate constant of the oxidative addition of the benzoic anhydride (PhCO)2O to [Pd0(PPh3)4] has been determined in DMF and compared to that of phenyl halides and phenyl triflate. The following reactivity order has been established: PhI >> (PhCO)2O > PhOTf > PhBr. The oxidative addition of (PhCO)2O proceeds by activation of one C−O bond. Two acyl-PdII complexes are formed: a neutral complex trans-[(PhCO)Pd(OCOPh)(PPh3)2] and a cationic complex trans-[(PhCO)PdS(PPh3)2]+ (S = DMF) showing that the decarbonylation process is highly endergonic. The exchange of PPh3 by the bidentate ligand dppp does not favor the decarbonylation process.

How do we perceive the Eye Intrinsic Parameters ?

We discuss here how to identify how a visual system deals with the intrinsic calibration parameters of the visual sensor, i.e. the eye, in the case of motion perception. In computer vision, such an approach is already well developed, from both a geometric and algebraic points of view. It is now well established in this field that calibration mechanisms related to the camera intrinsic parameters allow to adapt such a perceptual system to incoming information and obtain a robust and significant estimation of the structure and motion parameters of the system itself and the scene. The assumption of this work is that the biological visual perception must also be based on such mechanisms and we have implemented the protocols which allow to verify this hypothesis

Ilegitimidade da comissão processante disciplinar frente às garantias constitucionais da ampla defesa e do contraditório

The present research was objective to verify and evaluate through bibliographic research the precepts of the brazilian Disciplinary Administrative Process, which observed which parameters should be followed for the guarantee of the rights of the accused and the due legitimacy of the Processing Commission, through the method of logical-deductive reasoning, based on the doctrinal and normative construction. Searching the resolution of the following question: Does failure to observe the principles of broad defense and contradictory imply the illegitimacy of the acts of the Processing Commission in a disciplinary administrative process? It is concluded that the legitimacy of the Commission depends not only on the observance of the precepts established by law, but also on the interpretation and application of the norm on the basis of constitutional principles, as well as the understanding of the matter by both administrators and those indicted for broad defense and the contradictory are guaranteed.O presente trabalho teve como objetivo constatar e avaliar mediante pesquisa bibliográfica os preceitos do Processo Administrativo Disciplinar brasileiro, em que se observou quais parâmetros devem ser seguidos para a garantia dos direitos do indiciado e da devida legitimidade da Comissão Processante, mediante o método de raciocínio lógico-dedutivo, baseando-se na construção doutrinária e normativa. Buscando-se a resolução do seguinte questionamento: A inobservância dos princípios da ampla defesa e do contraditório implica na ilegitimidade dos atos da Comissão Processante em um processo administrativo disciplinar? Conclui-se que a legitimidade da Comissão não depende tão somente da observância das regras estabelecidas em lei, mas também com a interpretação e aplicação da norma com base nos princípios constitucionais, assim como a compreensão da matéria tanto pelos administradores quanto pelos indiciados, para que a ampla defesa e o contraditório sejam garantidos

Low Q^2 Jet Production at HERA and Virtual Photon Structure

The transition between photoproduction and deep-inelastic scattering is investigated in jet production at the HERA ep collider, using data collected by the H1 experiment. Measurements of the differential inclusive jet cross-sections dsigep/dEt* and dsigmep/deta*, where Et* and eta* are the transverse energy and the pseudorapidity of the jets in the virtual photon-proton centre of mass frame, are presented for 0 < Q2 < 49 GeV2 and 0.3 < y < 0.6. The interpretation of the results in terms of the structure of the virtual photon is discussed. The data are best described by QCD calculations which include a partonic structure of the virtual photon that evolves with Q2.Comment: 20 pages, 5 Figure
