Rational engineering of semiconductor nanowire superstructures

Semiconductor nanowire synthesis provides a promising route to engineer novel nanoscale materials for applications in energy conversion, electronics, and photonics. The addition of methylgermane (GeH₃CH₃) to standard GeH₄/H₂ chemistry is demonstrated to induce a transition from to oriented growth during the vapor-liquid-solid synthesis of Ge nanowires. This hydride-based chemistry is subsequently leveraged to rationally fabricate kinking superstructures based on combinations of and segments with user defined angles and segment lengths. The addition of GeH₃CH₃ also eliminates sidewall tapering and enables Ge nanowire growth at temperatures exceeding 475 °C, which greatly expands the process window. User-programmable diameter modulation is demonstrated without kinking using tetramethyltin (Sn(CH₃)₄) or trimethylsilane (SiH(CH₃)₃) reacting directly on the sidewalls of growing nanowires to either block or allow conformal deposition. Catalyst modification with tetramethyltin is demonstrated to tune growth kinetics and provides further control over nanowire design. Morphological markers, generated via user-defined changes to diameter along the nanowire axial direction, enable a new approach to rapid, accurate, and facile extraction of growth rate information from electron microscopy images. The ability to engineer nanowire structure by tuning chemistry either at the nucleation point or on the sidewall is demonstrated in this work, thus enabling the rational fabrication of complex superstructures.Ph.D

Spaces of generalised smoothness in summability problems for Phi-means of spectral decomposition

Let GsubsetBbb R^n be an arbitrary domain. The authors introduce a non-negative function phi on Bbb R with some special properties on (0,1] and then with the help of its Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of order s (s>0) define the notion of Phi-means of spectral decomposition of the space L_2(G) with respect to a self-adjoint non-negative extension of the Laplace operator in G. The problem of localization of Phi-means of spectral decomposition is considered in the article. For Riesz means a similar problem has been studied by V.~A. Ilʹin [Differencialʹnye Uravnenija {bf 7} (1971), 670--710; [msn] MR0284867 [/msn]] and S.~A. Alimov and Ilʹin [Differencialʹnye Uravnenija {bf 7} (1971), 851--882; [msn] MR0284868 [/msn]]

We show that methylgermane (GeH3CH3) can induce a transition from ⟨111⟩ to ⟨110⟩ oriented growth during the vapor–liquid–solid synthesis of Ge nanowires. This hydride-based chemistry is subsequently leveraged to rationally fabricate kinking superstructures based on combinations of ⟨111⟩ and ⟨110⟩ segments. The addition of GeH3CH3 also eliminates sidewall tapering and enables Ge nanowire growth at temperatures exceeding 475 °C, which greatly expands the process window and opens new avenues to create Si/Ge heterostructures

Assessment of recreational forests by stages of recreational digression

    No full text
The paper suggests standards of maximum permissible recreational loads specified for republics and regions of the Middle Volga region, characterized by specific forest-growing conditions according to dominant rocks and age groups. The sequence of determining the stages of digression is corrected through the attendance of recreational facilities and the critical number of visitors according to the given model. Based on actual recreational accounting it is possible to model factors to adjust the recreational capacity of the forest area to critical number of visitors. The study of forest areas for mass recreation is based on the method of recreational load evaluation. The use of refined standards of maximum permissible recreational loads will allow considering the peculiarities of recreational forest exploitation for the zone of southern taiga and coniferous-broadleaf forests

Differentiated assessment of the recreational potential of forests in the management of recreational forests

    No full text
The assessment of the recreational potential is the primary basis for forest cadaster, which contains reliable information on natural, economic and legal conditions of the forest fund and forest users. Depending on the role and importance of diagnostic features in landscape formation, they receive a differentiated assessment. Differentiated assessment of recreational potential criteria is a critical basis of cadastral land assessment, which promotes optimal decisions to improve recreational properties of landscapes and ensures protection and rational use. It allowed some neighborhoods to be excluded from the recreational use, others – to limit this use, third – to identify additional opportunities for forest land leasing. On the same basis, options have been proposed to redistribute the flow of recreational people by forming forest parks on the basis of existing forests and forest landscapes
