The article considers the issues of the advantages of using an active teaching method for the formation of professional competencies of a future pediatrician The introduction of a business game into the educational process of teaching the discipline Fundamentals of the formation of children's health in the 3rd year of the pediatric faculty is analyzed. An increase in the number of students who entered the test on time, an increase in the average score in the discipline in groups where an active form of education was used is shown. All students who received experience in such imitation games noted full involvement in the learning process, increased motivation in preparing for classes of this format and better assimilation of the material. Imitation of a real clinical situation in the course of conducting classes in the form of a business game contributes to the formation of professional competencies of the future pediatrician, including communication skills, the ability to reasonably answer questions and work with objections.

The most common cause of asthma-like conditions is the pathology of the upper gastrointestinal tract, clinically manifesting difficulty breathing (sometimes in combination with dysphagia) and the presence of cough. The given clinical observation of the disease of a 17-year-old patient with a combination of bronchial asthma and esophageal achalasia allows to focus on the features of diagnosis and optimal treatment of such patients.

Considerations and strategies in L2 vocabulary acquisition among Japanese 1st year university students.

This article proposes a framework of strategies1) for L2 vocabulary acquisition among low-to-mid level L2 learners in their first year at Kansai University. The framework relies upon considerations posited by Kudo (1999), as well as, Hunt and Beglar’s (2005) model for developing EFL reading vocabulary, although the objective for our target learners is tofacilitate vocabulary acquisition in a learner-centered communicative context, where possible. This paper firstly underlines the critical role of vocabulary in second language acquisition, while raising awareness of the surrounding pedagogic climate in Japanese secondary education.

The article considers the possible accessible forms of presenting information on the prevention of helminthiasisand other parasitic infection when citizens of the Russian Federation visit popular tourist countries. In order to select possible forms of presenting preventive information, a survey of 142 respondents was conducted, and the market for such proposals was analyzed. The best forms are mobile applications, Internet site and brochures provided by travel agencies.

the article presents the results of clinical, laboratory and instrumental examination of 46 school-age children with bronchial asthma and gastroesophageal reflux disease. The absence of significant features of bronchial asthma against the background of gastroesophageal reflux disease was revealed. The importance of including fibrogastroduodenoscopy in the examination plan of a patient with bronchial asthma is shownв статье представлены результаты клинико-лабораторного и инструментального обследования 46 детей школьного возраста с бронхиальной астмой и гастроэзофагеальной рефлюксной болезнью.

Human adipose-derived stem cells stimulate neuroregeneration

© 2015, Springer-Verlag Italia.Traumatic brain injuries and degenerative neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s dementia, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and many others are characterized by loss of brain cells and supporting structures. Restoring microanatomy and function using stem cells is a promising therapeutic approach. Among the many various sources, adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) are one of the most easily harvested alternatives, they multiply rapidly, and they demonstrate low immunogenicity with an ability to differentiate into several cell types. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of xenotransplanted human ADSCs on post-traumatic regeneration of rat sciatic nerve. Peripheral reconstruction following complete sciatic transection and autonerve grafting was complemented by intra-operative injection of hADSCs into the proximal and distal stumps. The injury caused gliosis and apoptosis of sensory neurons in the lumbar 5 (L5) ganglia in the control rodents; however, animals treated with hADSCs demonstrated a smaller amount of cellular loss. Formation of amputation neuroma, which hinders axonal repair, was less prominent in the experimental group, and immunohistochemical analysis of myelin basic protein showed good myelination 65 days after surgery. At this point, control groups still exhibited high levels of microglia/macrophage-specific marker Iba-1 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen, the mark of an ongoing inflammation and incomplete axonal growth 2 months after the injury. This report demonstrates that hADSCs promote neuronal survival in the spinal ganglion, fuel axonal repair and stimulate the regeneration of peripheral nerves

The introduction of modern learning technologies is the way of rising the quality of professional training of graduates of medical universities. The article presents a positive experience of using effective teaching methods in the clinical department, such as distance learning technologies, e-learning, analysis of test control results and final certification of students during study the discipline of propaedeutics of childhood diseases. We have registered the increasing the number of students successfully certified in the discipline (83.0%) and the number of students who received "excellent" and "good" marks (85.2%).
