Diabetes is a non-communicable disease among the highest causes of death worldwide, including in Indonesia. Factors that cause diabetes include pancreatic β-cell damage, genetic factors, and an unhealthy lifestyle. Diabetes is characterized by high blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) beyond normal limits. Hyperglycaemia can be treated using synthetic chemical drugs or insulin therapy, which has adverse long-term effects. The community believes herbal medicine is an alternative diabetes treatment. Melastoma sp is a plant that has the potential as an antidiabetic agent. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of ethanol extract of Bhee fruit (Melastoma sp) on blood glucose levels of diabetic mice. This study is a laboratory experiment using laboratory animals. The mice were divided into seven treatment groups with three replicates: KN (normal control), KP (treatment control), KD (diabetes control), KO (drug control), P1 (treatment dose of 100 mg/kgBB extract), P2 (treatment dose of 200 mg/kgBB extract), and P3 (treatment dose of 400 mg/kgBB extract). The study's results, the administration of doses of ethanol extract of the fruit 100, 200, and 300 mg /kgBB for 14 days reduced glucose levels in diabetic mice. However, they could not exceed the ability metformin at a dose of 500 mg/kgBB

Unhealthy lifestyle is one of the leading causes to Diabetes Mellitus (DM) disorder which is characterized by beyond normal limits of high blood glucose levels. Seawed (Ulva lactuca) is one type of natural material that is potentially to be anti-DM. Unfortunately, it is not familiar yet to the wider community, especially in Aceh. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving Ulva lactuca water extract to the body weight of DM rats. The research is an experimental completely randomized design (CRD). Rats were grouped into 5 treatments with three replications, namely: KN = normal control (only fed and distilled water), Ka = STZ control (rat induced STZ 65 mg), P1 = rat DM + extract dose 200 mg / KgBB, P2 = DM rats + extract dose 300 mg / KgBB, P3 = DM rats + extract dose 400 mg / KgBB. Measurement of body weight (BB) of rats was carried out for 28 days. Data analysis was performed statistically (ANOVA). The results showed that the water extract of Ulva lactuca affected the changes in body weight of DM rats. The treatment groups of P1, P2 and P3 gained weight after being given Ulva lactuca water extract. The highest percentage of weight increase was found in the P2 and P3 treatment groups.   Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Weight, Sea Lettuce (Ulva lactuca)Pola hidup tidak sehat merupakan salah satu penyebab munculnya penyakit Diabetes Mellitus (DM) yang ditandai oleh tingginya kadar glukosa darah melebihi batas normal. Nutrition problems in Indonesia are already classified as multiple nutritional problems, namely the problem of undernutrition and overweight obesity. In 2010 the prevalence of overweight and obesity in Aceh province was 11.2 percent and in 2013 was 14.8 percent (8.9 percent fat and 5.9 percent very fat) resulting in an increase of 3.6 percent. Food intake is one factor that can cause cause overweight and obesity. This study wanted to analyze the factors of food intake in children aged 7-12 years become the cause of overweight and obesity. This study was an observational analytic study with cross sectional design aimed at assessing relationship of food intake on obesity-related weight status in first-fifth grade elementary school children aged 7-12 years at Kabupaten Aceh Barat. The sample size is 289 students. Determination of child obesity status using Body Mass Index based on Age (IMT/U), that is overweight and obesity if IMT/U>1.0 SD. Data of food intake was obtained through interview using 24-hour food recall form for 3 days. From 289 respondents, 51.90% were overweight and obesity. Factors related to the incidence of overweight and obesity are energy and fat intake (OR = 4.56 and 4.03)

Indonesia is a maritime country and produces a lot of fish, but according to BPS data, the average protein consumption, including Indonesian fish consumption, is 64.64 grams per capita a day, while Aceh is only 58.99 grams per capita a day. This service activity aims to educate students at Islamic boarding schools about the importance of fish consumption, invite students to eat processed fish so that it is hoped that they will be able to increase knowledge and change fish consumption behavior. The participants of this activity were 40 students of the Babul Fikri Islamic Boarding School. The method used is the Role Play method and also uses PPT tools about the importance of fish consumption. Educational results obtained an increase in students' knowledge related to fish consumption as seen from the average value of the level of knowledge, namely (2,625-4.725 = 2.1 points), so we can conclude that the love of eating fish education carried out can increase students' knowledge and will be able to change adolescent behavior behavior that is able to overcome the problem of fish consumption. In addition, it was also seen that there was an increase in fish consumption which was better than before education, from 42.5% to 63.5%

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease characterized by high blood glucose levels caused by damage to the pancreas, which cannot produce insulin. Antidiabetic drugs and insulin injections in the long term have specific side effects, so herbal medicine is considered safer to use. Sea lettuce (Ulva lactuca) is one of the herbal medicines that have the potential as an antidiabetic. Methods: Experimental using a completely randomized design. Rats were divided into five groups with three replicates, namely: Kn = normal control, Ka = STZ control, P1 = DM rats + 200 mg/KgBB extract dose, P2 = DM rats + 300 mg/KgBB extract dose, and P3 = DM rats + 400 mg/KgBB extract dose. The stages of this study began with the preparation of tools and materials, phytochemical tests, the preparation of test animals and testing extracts on test animals, and the measurement of blood glucose levels in rats before and after they were given extracts. Blood glucose levels were measured using a glucometer. Data analysis was performed statistically (ANOVA). The results of the phytochemical tests detected were steroids, saponins, and phenols/tannins, while alkaloids, terpenoids, and flavonoids were not. The most effective blood glucose level measurement result is at a dose of 400 mg/KgBB
