Re-Separating the Powers: The Legislative Veto and Congressional Oversight after Chadha
This Note will initially trace the historical setting in which Chadha v. Immigration and Naturalization Service was decided. In light of the staunch defense of and radical opposition to the veto, the Court\u27s decision will then be analyzed in terms of its scope as well as its potential ramifications. The major focus will concern the future of existing laws which presently embody legislative vetoes, whether they are valid despite these provisions, and how the future of congressional oversight may be affected by the potential demise of the legislative veto. Finally, this Note will recommend a proposal by which the legislature may monitor delegated power in the wake of this landmark decision

Photolytic Hazes in the Atmosphere of 51 Eri b
We use a 1D model to address photochemistry and possible haze formation in
the irradiated warm Jupiter, 51 Eridani b. The intended focus was to be carbon,
but sulfur photochemistry turns out to be important. The case for organic
photochemical hazes is intriguing but falls short of being compelling. If
organic hazes form, they are likeliest to do so if vertical mixing in 51 Eri b
is weaker than in Jupiter, and they would be found below the altitudes where
methane and water are photolyzed. The more novel result is that photochemistry
turns HS into elemental sulfur, here treated as S. In the cooler
models, S is predicted to condense in optically thick clouds of solid
sulfur particles, whilst in the warmer models S remains a vapor along with
several other sulfur allotropes that are both visually striking and potentially
observable. For 51 Eri b, the division between models with and without
condensed sulfur is at an effective temperature of 700 K, which is within error
its actual effective temperature; the local temperature where sulfur condenses
is between 280 and 320 K. The sulfur photochemistry we have discussed is quite
general and ought to be found in a wide variety of worlds over a broad
temperature range, both colder and hotter than the 650-750 K range studied
here, and we show that products of sulfur photochemistry will be nearly as
abundant on planets where the UV irradiation is orders of magnitude weaker than
it is on 51 Eri b.Comment: 24 pages including 11 figures and a tabl
CHALLENGES AND SUCCESS DRIVERS OF MOTORCYCLE SPARE-PARTS PRIVATE LABEL BRANDS IN SOUTHEAST NIGERIA.
The motivation of this study is the observed increase of
motorcycle spares parts private labels (PLs) in the
southeast Nigeria, therefore warranting empirical
probing to identify success factors and major challenges to
motorcycle spare parts PL in Nigeria. The study is guided by
three objectives and three hypotheses formulated to address the
objective. Four point likert scale questionnaire was designed and
primary data were drawn from 23 PL managers or owners at
Nnewi, Southeast Nigeria. Principal component analysis and tstatistics
were adopted for data reduction and for hypothesis
testing respectively. The major finding of this study is that to
gain control is the major reason for development of private label;
self-gratification is the key success factor of PLs; and piracy or
absences of regulation is the main challenge of PLs survival.
Accordingly, this led to the conceptualization of the Private
Label Survival Triangle. Key recommendation is the urgent need
for government to regulate the motorcycle spare parts PL sector
Evaluation of the Factors that Impede Women Entrepreneurs' Full Participation in Industrialization in Nigeria
Entrepreneurship offers tremendous opportunities for women across the -
world by opening doors to greater self-sufficiency, self-esteem, education,
and skills required for industrialization. Hence, women are changing the
face of business ownership both locally and internationally. Their
involvement in industrialization is becoming significant especially in the
area of entrepreneur ship. However, their active participation in
industrialization in Nigeria has been militated by several factors. This
paper is, therefore, aimed at evaluating these factors so as to proffer
possible solutions that will enhance women entrepreneurs' participation in
industrialization in Nigeria. Both primary and secondary sources were
used in gathering the data required for the paper. The study surveyed four
hundred and .fifty (450) women entrepreneurs from three states (Lagos,
Ogun and Oyo) in the South-West Nigeria. Questionnaire as the research
instrument was administered to the respondents who were randomly
selected from the registered list of women entrepreneurs obtained from
NA CIMMA and some of the Local Government Areas of these States. The
findings revealed that among other factors, financial factor and
government legal and regulatory policies were identified as the major
factors that impede women's full participation in Nigerian
industrialization. Based on these findings, the study recommends that the
government, NGOs and international agencies should be committed to the
cause of strengthening and encouraging Nigerian women entrepreneurs so
as to enhance their active participation in industrializatio
