    Locating Tests and Measurement Instruments for Assessment

    Extension educators, staff, and specialists need to use surveys and other measurement instruments to assess their programming and conduct other research. Challenges in locating tests and measurement tools, however, include lack of time and lack of familiarity with techniques that can be used to find them.     TEEAL and AGORA: Off-and online access to the scientific literature of agriculture for the developing world

    TEEAL (The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library) and AGORA (Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture) are digital collections of scientific agricultural literature for the developing world. Through both, the agricultural research cycle in the developing world functions more effectively, including in areas where access to the internet is limited, slow, or unreliable, thanks to TEEAL's offline access. This paper discusses the programs' training, outreach, and usage and barriers to it, and the international partnerships that make them possible. Also profiled is the new AgriKnowledge database, which provides access to key unpublished agricultural content, including reports from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's programs and projects

    Graduate students in CALS and CHE affiliated programs were contacted by email the first week of October 2005 and asked to participate in a fifteen question web survey about how they typically find out about events on campus & at Mann and what types of library news they would be interested in hearing about. The survey ran online from the beginning of October 2005 until the beginning of November 2005; by the time it closed, 237 graduate students had responded

    This report presents the findings of a qualitative assessment of the research practices of agricultural faculty and research staff in Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. This work was carried out as part of a larger project led by Ithaka S&R, conducted at numerous land grant institutions nationwide.
