Research on entrepreneurship intention has and continues to be of interest to researchers due to its importance to the development for many countries. The literature on entrepreneurship intention has examined various issues with many focusing on the factors that influence entrepreneurship intention. However, most of these studies were conducted in a non-Malaysian setting. This study examines entrepreneurship intention among Malaysian Business Students. Using a questionnaire survey on undergraduate business students in a Malaysian public university, this study examines whether business students have an intention to pursue entrepreneurship. It also examines whether personality traits and environmental factors influence the students to become entrepreneurs. The results indicate that more than half of the respondents have an intention to become entrepreneurs and their decisions are attributed by the influence from their family members, academics and attending courses on entrepreneurship. The results also show that out of the two factors: personality traits and environmental, personality traits play an important role in influencing the students’ decision to become entrepreneurs. The findings implicate that academics need to play a significant role in encouraging more students to become entrepreneurs by providing more awareness on the benefits of becoming entrepreneurs and in turn, contributing to the growth of the country’s economies and global competitiveness.

Despite the government’s effort to eradicate corruption, it is still impossible to combat it as long as individuals with no integrity and sense of responsibility exists in organizations. ca This study is to investigate the relationship between several macroeconomics variables with corruption. The macroeconomics variables include government spending, human capital, investment and trade openness. This study uses time series data from the year 1994-2016. The data were obtained from Political Risk Service (PRS) and World Development Indicator from World Bank. Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method is used to examine the relationship between all the macroeconomic variables and corruption. The macroeconomic variables found to be significantly related to corruption in Malaysia were human capital and trade openness. However changes in the corruption in Malaysia may not necessarily be influenced by government spending and investment. Furthermore, all variables are found to have a positive relationship with corruption. The general findings of this paper strongly suggested that corruption in Malaysia is increasing continuously. Therefore efforts by the Malaysian government and policy makers are badly needed to fight corruption in order to foster better economic growth through improved business operations, employment and investments

Internationalization provides various strategic benefits to the SMEs. It might increase the firm’s sales and revenue and be able to sustain in the economy for a longer period. However, the lack of information may become a challenge to the business, thus it is not easy to carry out the internationalization successfully due to limited resources and capabilities. On the other hand, influential factors on SMEs internalization have been discussed in developed countries, yet some developing countries are still struggling for empirical evidence. Some SMEs are facing difficulties in entering the global market as they have zero or less information on it while some of them successfully entered the market and can compete internationally. This indicates that every SMEs has the opportunity to internationalize their goods or services with proper understanding and better information about the global market. Prior studies have been carried out on factors influencing internationalization of SMEs however this study has been done specifically on internationalization of the SMEs in Malaysia. The determinants of internationalization investigated are internal factors, external factors, and networking, using partial least square method. The outcome of this study indicated that external factors, internal factors, and networking do not have any significant relationship with SMEs decision to internationalize

AbstractThe main aim of the study is to investigate the approaches to learning, motives and strategies of the business students at the Faculty of Business Management, UiTM. The study is also to explore the impact of age, gender, academic programmes, working experience and CGPA on the learning approaches. All these variables are selected because they bring quality of the learning outcomes on a more realistic basis. Today, there is an increasing emphasis on quality of learning in higher education. The literature identifies the approaches to learning as a significant factor affecting the quality of student learning. It is necessary to look at approaches to learning practiced by students because students might rote learn and therefore not be engaged in meaningful learning. This involves students acquiring skills and strategies, which allow them to learn effectively throughout their lives and become lifelong learners. It is important for educators to understand student learning in order to achieve the desired high quality learning outcomes. A survey is conducted in this study and the sample of this study consists of the business students (N=477) enrolled at the Faculty of Business Management, UiTM Shah Alam. Data are obtained using the Biggs’ Study Process Questionnaire (SPQ) as a diagnostic tool for measuring students’ self-reported study processes in terms of six subscales (Surface Motives and Surface Strategies, Deep Motives and Deep strategies, and Achieving Motives and Achieving Strategies), three derived Scales (Surface Approaches, Deep Approaches and Achieving Approaches) and a composite derived Scale (Deep-Achieving Approaches). The key findings provide inputs to the current scenario on the learning process specifically for the Faculty of Business Management, UiTM and will act as a basis for improvement in learning approaches of students
