The role of Zionist movement towards the creation of the state of Israel (Peranan pergerakan zionist terhadap pembentukan negara Israel)
The problem of Palestine has been a subject of much debate not only among scholars but also involved world superpowers as well. As this conflict rages on, there is a need to look at the root cause of the problem which one could argue that, among others, was caused by the ambitions of Zionist Movement. This paper examines the emergence of Zionist Movement and its role in establishing the State of Israel by confiscating Palestinians‟ territory and land. Zionist controls over the territory has resulted in the expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland. This study was conducted as a library research with textual analysis on the sources of Palestine historiography. The result shows that the Zionist Movement had lobbied the world superpowers, especially Britain and United States of America, until they supported the movement and resulting in the creation of the State of Israel on the Palestinian land
Characteristics of Preserving Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School Traditions: Lessons from Indonesia and Malaysia
This study aims to understand the characteristics of preserving traditional values of salafiyah Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia and Malaysia. The research method is ethnographic-phenomenological with data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and interviews. This study found that the tradition of salafiyah Islamic boarding school is still preserved in the Islamic boarding school education system, even though they are geographically in different locations and countries. The system they maintain is the charismatic Kyai Kitab as a leadership model, the yellow book as the core curriculum, syawir (muzakarah) as a learning method, and giving oral diplomas as a form of scientific recognition. This study contributes to a deep understanding that traditional Islamic boarding schools (salafiyah) are the original Islamic education of Indonesia and Malaysia which are still the center of classical Islamic tradition preservation
Konflik selatan Thailand: peranan Malaysia sebagai negara jiran
Dari tragedi Krisek hingga ke tragedi Tak Bai masyarakat selatan Thai masih lagi
dibelenggu dengan permasalahan konflik perkauman. Walaupun tampuk pemerintahan
silih berganti namun pertelingkahan di antara pihak kerajaan Bangkok dengan puak
pemisah yang cuba untuk mendominasi kuasa autonomi dari pihak kerajaan masih
menjadi isu hangat di mata dunia. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konflik di
Selatan Thai yang melibatkan peranan Malaysia dalam menangani isu ini. Kajian ini
adalah kajian kualitatif dengan menggunakan kaedah kajian kepustakaan. Ia turut
menggunakan kaedah kajian sejarah untuk memahami latar belakang isu yang
berlaku. Hasil kajian ini mendapati bahawa pelbagai usaha dan langkah telah diambil
oleh pihak kerajaan Thailand di Bangkok bagi menangani isu tersebut, namun hasilnya
kurang memberangsangkan. Pelbagai pertubuhan dan badan-badan kerajaan lain
cuba untuk membantu seperti ASEAN, PBB dan OIC. Malah tidak ketinggalan juga
Malaysia turut memainkan peranan yang penting dalam menyumbang usaha ke arah
perdamaian antara kerajaan Bangkok dengan puak pemisah. Dari saluran berbentuk
nasihat, bimbingan hinggalah ke bentuk material, dilihat Malaysia begitu prihatin
terhadap negara jirannya yang dilanda kemusnahan. Signifikan penemuan kajian
menunjukkan bahawa peranan Malaysia adalah sebagai memenuhi dasar hubungan dua
hala dan kepentingannya kepada Malaysia sendiri dalam menjaga keamanan negara
The Models of Character and Akhlaq Education for Special Needs Children in An Inclusion School
The law stresses that education is the right of all citizens, including children with special needs. The need for education is the same as school-age children in general, but the training provided is adjusted to the specifics of the children. It is certainly guaranteed that all children need character education and akhlaqul karimah. This research aims to explore how character education and akhlaq in children with special needs in Al-Ghazali Jatinangor Inclusion Elementary School. The method used is phenomenological quality research. The data is collected in by observations, interviews, documentations, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Then, it was analyzed using interactive analysis techniques. The results indicate that the education program at Al-Ghazali Inclusion Elementary School is different from most other elementary schools. It has long hours of activities and most of the time conducted at school activities are filled with daily routines that build consistent characters and akhlaqul karimah for both children
Iqbal’s Philosophy on Islamic Education: A Historical Perspective
Philosophy is science with the facts and data
naturally relating to all aspects of human life
coming into existence. As it throws light onto
the problem of life and human destiny, it
implies and postulates education. From these
two aspects come their respective angles of
vision, with similar issues and problems.
Such are the meaning and purpose of human
life, the relationship of the individual to the
community and to his environment and the
problem of values. Any coherent system of
ideas, which provides guidance in facing these
problems or offers a thoughtful criticism of
existing institutions, culture, social practices
and ways of thought, must necessarily be the
basis of our educational theory and practice.
In this regard, having strong conviction, the
authors present Allama Muhammad Iqbal has
contributed invaluable provision and solution on
the problem of education. This paper intends to
explore his idea on the Educational Philosophy
which had been elaborated by Saiyidain. There
is no doubt that Iqbal is the most versatile genius
that modern Muslim world has produced. It will
be difficult to find many who are his equals as
educators, poets in any languages of the East
or the West. He may not have built any great
system of philosophy like Kant or Hegel, but his
philosophical thinking was extensive as well as
intensive. For, education is, after all, engaged
in the process of critically evaluating and
effectively transmitting the cultural heritage,
knowledge and ideas of a social group to its
young members, thereby securing the continuity
of collective life and culture as well as ensuring
their intelligent, the creative reconstruction
Islamicjerusalem under Muslim rule: a study of the implementation of inclusive vision on the region
This article examines some approaches needed on problems face by Muslims in the context of Islamicjerusalem today. In discussing the related issues, the author tries to present historical facts, the situation of the region and Quranic perspectives on justice as an element to achieve global peace. Apart from that, this article reflects on the future of this disputed region. The author come with the hypothesis "there will be no peace and stability without justice.
