Trace Element’s Role in Male Infertility; Review Article

    Get PDF
Background: Trace elements are the basic components of biological enzyme system or the structural components of very low concentration bioactive components. There are a number of trace elements in foods, such as iron, iodine, fluorine, copper and zinc, as well as chromium and cobalt. Other trace elements include tin and vanadium. Nickel and silicon are two examples of metals. Some of the trace elements are toxic to reproductive health at high doses. Trace amounts of these substances are rarely used for various physiological functions of the body. Many metal ions (copper, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, nickel, lithium vanadium, lead, and mercury) have many adverse effects on reproduction and development, fertility of men and women, abortion, and deformity. Exposure timing and duration, metal ions' distribution and accumulation in various organs, and interference with specific developmental processes; all have an impact on the consequences of metal ions. Objective: To assess the trace element’s role in male infertility especially the role of zinc. Conclusion: Trace elements are very important for the sperm production and quality and could affect the male fertility by one way or another

The aim of this study was to investigate the behavioral and emotional problems of children with and without learning disabilities. The study  sample consisted of 15 teachers and 424 primary school children  with and without  learning disabilities were selected from two governmental primary  schools at Beni-Suef City, using case –control research design. Data were collected by the teachers using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) for children and adolescents aged 4-16 years. The results conducted that the  prevalence of total difficulties scores among primary school children with learning disabilities was 98.1% abnormal difficulties compared to 79.7% of normal children. Results also found that statistical significant differences were found between children with and without learning disability in all sub domains of emotional and behavioral disorders. This study documents that the high prevalence of difficulties among primary school children is an alarming condition that needs attention and early intervention. The study recommended that a periodic screening test should be provided  for early detection of emotional and behavioral problems for children with learning disabilities.          Key words: Primary school children, learning disabilities,  emotional and behavioral problem

WEIBULL SEMIPARAMETRIC REGRESSION MODELS UNDER RANDOM CENSORSHIP

Semiparametric regression is concerned with the flexible combination of non-linear functional relationships in regression analysis. The main advantage of the semiparametric regression models is that any application benefits from regression analysis can also benefit from the semiparametric regression. In this paper, we derived a consistent estimator of parametric portion and nonparametric portion in Weibull semi-parametric regression models under random censorship

Background: Asthma is a heterogeneous disease, usually characterized by chronic airway inflammation. The Pediatric Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (PAQLQ) is one of the most widely used instruments for measuring health-related QOL in children with asthma. Objective: to evaluate health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in children with bronchial asthma to identify the most important determinants adversely affecting their QOL.Patients and methods: This study was conducted on 72 asthmatic children over six months period. They were recruited from The Outpatient Clinic of Pediatrics Pulmonology Unit, Zagazig University Hospitals. All study patients were subjected to complete history taking, clinical examination, determination of level of asthma symptom control and filling PAQLQ.Results: About 58% of patients had partially controlled asthma and one quarter of them had well controlled asthma (Symptoms domain was the most affected domain ranged from 3 to 5.2 with mean 4.056). There was statistically significant relation between sex and physical, emotional and overall score of PQLQ. There was statistically significant relation between residence & social class and QOL scores. There was statistically significant relation between BMI and QOL scoresConclusion: Asthma significantly adversely affects the QOL of the affected children. Control of the main determinants of QOL scores might improve the QOL of these patients

The thesis evaluates the efficiency of various autoencoder neural networks for image compression regarding satellite imagery. The results highlight the evaluation and implementation of autoencoder architectures and the procedures required to deploy neural networks to reliable embedded devices. The developed autoencoders evaluated, targeting a ZYNQ 7020 FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and a ZU7EV FPGA
