    Verification of the Numerical Model of Optimized Bus Body Structure According to UN Regulation No. 66

    Bus rollover is one of the most analyzed cases of accidents, having in mind the number of potential large number of injuries and fatalities. Therefore, this type of traffic accident became the object of numerous national and international standards and regulations. The aim of this paper is to investigate the possibilities of experimental verification of presented simplified model of the bus body section. For that purpose, completely new multifunctional test bench was presented. The methodology applied for the experimental part was explained. The results provided by the numerical simulation and by the experiment were presented, and appropriate analyses were performed. The key parameters needed for the experimental verification were specified. According to the result analysis, a comparative results review was presented, confirming that the experimental verification of the numerical model was fully acceptable. Also, all of the requirements prescribed by the applied methodology for the achieved results acceptance were fulfilled, providing that numerical simulation, with constant improvements, could be a powerful tool for quick and reliable bus structure analysis in design process

    In this paper is presented that base station output power can be decreased by the power control in each channel. In this case very important is the distribution function of users\u27 density in the cell. We present the examples of the cells without power control and the examples of the cells with power control, where the distribution of users\u27 density in the cell is of various types. Some results are compared to the results of measurements, and some to the results obtained by simulation.U radu se pokazuje da se izlazna snaga bazne stanice može smanjiti upravljanjem snage pojedinih kanala. U tom slučaju značajnu ulogu ima funkcija raspodjele gustoće korisnika u stanici. Dati su primjeri stanica bez upravljanja snagom i primjeri stanica s upravljanjem snagom gdje je raspodjela gustoće korisnika u stanici različitog tipa. Neki rezultati upoređeni su s rezultatima mjerenja, a neki sa simulacijskim rezultatima

    A NOVEL METHOD FOR THE CODECS’ PERFORMANCE ANALYSISIN MOBILE TELEPHONY SYSTEMS

    This paper presents a novel method of expressing the quality of service in a mobile telecommunication system when its performance depends on several factors including applied codecs’ characteristics (voice quality and data flow rate) and telecommunications traffic service possibilities. The influence of these factors is unified in one variable - quality of service measure. The proposed method is especially applicable in the cases when two-dimensional systems are analyzed – for example when two codecs with different flow rate and different achievable connection quality are used in a system. As an example, we also studied system with full-rate or mixed full-rate and half-rate codec implementation depending on the offered traffic. The system performances – mean data-flow and mean connection quality as a function of offered traffic are presented graphically and also expressed quantitatively by the novel quality of service measure. The systems with different number of available traffic channels may be compared on the base of this novel evaluation value such that the system with the highest value is the most suitable one for the concrete situation. In this way mobile system design is simplified to the great extent. The developed model is applicable generally for mobile telephony systems defining, but in this paper we studied its implementation for Global System for Mobile communications

    Pomološke karakteristike klonova Oblačinske višnje u leskovačkom području

    This work presents a three-year study of oblacinska sour cherry clones. The studies were carried out at the production plantings of sour cherry of DP '' Porecje'' Vucje laboratories and the Faculty of Technology. The work presents the technology of nine clones of oblacinska sour cherry. Clone 28, which is the most prevalent in productive plantings, was used for comparison. During the performance of experiment, the vegetative and generative potential, important chemical and technological properties of fruits, yield, the content of dry matter and sugar were monitored. The obtained data of oblacinska sour cherries clones were processed by using the statistical methods. Based on all the examined traits, the following three sour cherry clones showed the highest quality properties: 56/21, 34/10 and 62/22.U radu su prikazana trogodišnja istraživanja devet klonova Oblačinske višnje. Ispitivanja su obavljena u proizvodnim zasadima Oblačinske višnje u D.P. „Porečje“ Vučje i laboratorijama Tehnološkog fakulteta. Za upoređenje je korišćen klon 28,koji je najviše rasprostranjen u proizvodnim zasadima. Tokom istraživanja praćen je vegetativni i generativni potencijal, fenologija cvetanja, važnije hemijske i tehnološke osobine plodova, sadržaj rastvorljivih suvih materija i šećera. Dobijeni podaci ispitivanih klonova Oblačinske višnje obrađeni su statističkim metodama. Na osnovu istraživanja najbolje rezultate su pokazala tri klona Oblačinske višnje i to: 56/21, 34/10 i 62/22

    Removal of benzaldehyde from a water/ethanol mixture by applying scavenging techniques

    Abstract A presence of carbonyl compounds is very common in the food industry. The nature of such compounds is to be reactive and thus many products involve aldehydes/ketones in their synthetic routes. By contrast, the high reactivity of carbonyl compounds could also lead to formation of undesired compounds, such as genotoxic impurities. It can therefore be important to remove carbonyl compounds by implementing suitable removal techniques, with the aim of protecting final product quality. This work is focused on benzaldehyde as a model component, studying its removal from a water/ethanol mixture by applying different derivatization agents as the scavengers. Discovery chemistry is performed in the beginning as a screening procedure, followed by the process design of a small-scale continuous process for benzaldehyde removal with in-line real-time monitoring. Applications of tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (TRIS) are found to provide above average removal of benzaldehyde.</jats:p

    CENTRALIZED DETECTION OF PRE-ALARM STATE IN TELEPHONE NETWORK OF ELECTRIC POWER UTILITY

    In this paper we consider the mixed telephone network of electric power utility consisting of IP, ISDN and Power Line Carrier links. Very important demand in the network is high availability. The central detector of IP and ISDN link failure (pre-alarm) is presented. The detector function is based on the prolonged response time of the network in the case of IP and ISDN link failure. We define undesirable events in the detector operation: false pre-alarm and detector miss, and we derive the expressions for their probability calculation. It is indicated that centralization of this detector is merit, which facilitates testing of the whole network from one location

    Izračunavanje granica emisije snage bazne stanice u GSM-u

    This paper compares the influence of various factors on the output power of each GSM channel and connection, and on the output power of whole base transceiver station in GSM network. The considered factors are the influence of sending signal only when speech exists (DTX), implementation of power control in signal sending, influence of users\u27 distribution in the range of coverage of base station, the power of one intra-cell connection and the power of one half-rate connection. It is analyzed how emission power of base station can be reduced by implementing various methods in signal sending.U ovom radu uspoređuje se utjecaj različitih čimbenika na izlaznu snagu svakog GSM kanala i veze te utjecaj na izlaznu snagu cijele bazne stanice u GSM mreži. Promatrani čimbenici su utjecaj predajnog signala samo kada govorni signal postoji (DTX), implementacija kontrole snage pri slanju signala, utjecaj raspodjele korisnika ovisno i području koje pokriva bazna stanica, snaga jedne unutar-ćelijske veze i snaga veze koja koristi pola protoka. Analizirano je kako se emitirana snaga bazne stanice može smanjiti koristeći različite metode za slanje signala

    Perspectives on Resource Recovery from Bio-Based Production Processes: From Concept to Implementation

    Recovering valuable compounds from waste streams of bio-based production processes is in line with the circular economy paradigm, and is achievable by implementing “simple-to-use” and well-established process separation technologies. Such solutions are acceptable from industrial, economic and environmental points of view, implying relatively easy future implementation on pilot- and full-scale levels in the bio-based industry. Reviewing such technologies is therefore the focus here. Considerations about technology readiness level (TRL) and Net Present Value (NPV) are included in the review, since TRL and NPV contribute significantly to the techno-economic evaluation of future and promising process solutions. Based on the present review, a qualitative guideline for resource recovery from bio-based production processes is proposed. Finally, future approaches and perspectives toward identification and implementation of suitable resource recovery units for bio-based production processes are discussed
