Medical services are unique type of industry in which measurement, evaluation and improvement of quality is not evident. This is due to the fact that the final results, even fully correct and consistent with the current medical knowledge of the treatment process, are not always predictable. In the medical profession, the quality of services provided is largely based on the subjective perceptions of the patients, that is why the field requires a different approach than other services. Objective. The aim of the study was to elitic and hierarchize elements that are the most important and most displeasing for patients in the process of using medical services as those factors determine the perceived level of medical services' quality. Material and method. The research method used in the study was a diagnostic survey, the technique was author's questionnaire. The study was conducted from January to May 2016. During this period 185 surveys were completed for statistical analysis. Surveys were filled in by respondents who declared active use of services provided by Polish public health care institutions. Results and conclusions. Regardless of the age and gender of the respondents, responses were very similar and clearly indicated that the most important element that determines the assessment of services is competence of the staff (education, knowledge, experience but also respect for patients) and availability and waiting times. In turn, the most displeasing elements are: long waiting times for health services, long queues, difficulties with availability of health services, hasty medical visits (short, superficial visit without thourough medical interview). Results of the study show, that patients' expectations are reasonable and possible to meet by health care institutions

The meaning of the word health takes on a different connotation in relation to certain individuals or groups. The trend is visible when taking under consideration the health of elderly individuals or the entire population in this age category. Even more, there has been noticed a great spread in individuals belonging to this age group, given that the elderly person is considered to be one that completed 65 years of life untill the diversified its end. Therefore, such a wide age range covering approximately 20 - 30 years demands diverse criteria for persons aged 70 years and the ones aged 90 years.            The purpose of the study was to identify predictors influencing the health behaviors of people over 65 years of age in Poland.            On the one hand, older age allows a sense of satisfaction, fulfillment and understanding for the meaning of the whole past life. On the other hand, it can be a source of physical and mental pain, the cause of dissatisfaction and frustration. All in all, the manner in which this period is experienced depends on numerous factors. These include both genetic and individual factors as well as social aspects. However, the most important ones are considered to be health behaviors of seniors. For that reason, taking into account the perspective of aging Poland, joint preparation for old age should become a priority undertaking

Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death globally. The recommended clinical management in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases is the immediate initiation of high-qual-ity cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Training mannequins should be combined with technology that provides students with detailed immediate feedback on the quality of CPR performance. This study aimed to verify the impacts of the type of feedback (basic or detailed) the responders receive from the device while learning CPR and how it influences the quality of their performance and the motivation to improve their skills. The study was conducted at the Medical University of Lublin among 694 multi-professional health students during first aid classes on basic life support (BLS). The students first practiced on an adult mannequin with a basic control panel; afterward, the same mannequin was connected to a laptop, ensuring a detailed record of the performed activities through a projector. Next, the participants expressed their subjective opinion on how the feedback provided during the classes, basic vs. detailed, motivated them to improve the quality of their CPR performance. Additionally, during the classes, the instructor conducted an extended observation of students’ work and behavior. In the students’ opinion, the CPR training with detailed feedback devices provided motivation for learning and improving CPR proficiency than that with a basic control panel. Furthermore, the comments given from devices seemed to be more acceptable to the students, who did not see any bias in the device’s evaluation compared to that of the instructor. Detailed device feedback motivates student health practitioners to learn and improve the overall quality of CPR. The use of mannequins that provide detailed feedback during BLS courses can improve survival in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest

Materiła i metoda. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w klubie senior w Wąwolnicy (40 osób) oraz w sanatorium uzdrowiskowym w Nałęczowie (60 osób). Razem przebadano 100 osób po 65 r.ż. Metodą badawczą był sondaż diagnostyczny, zaś narzędziem badawczym autorski kwestionariusz ankiety audytoryjnej. Wyniki. Większość ankietowanych (67%) stanowiły osoby pomiędzy 65 a 69 r.ż., następnie 23% osoby w wieku 70-79 lat.
