    A watchdog timer is a computer hardware timing device that triggers a system reset if the main program, due to some fault condition, such as a hang, neglects to regularly service the watchdog (writing a “service pulse” to it, also referred to as “petting the dog”). The intention is to bring the system back from the hung state into normal operation. Such a timer has got various important applications, one of them being in ATMs (Automated Teller Machine) which we have studied and designed in our project

    Facial pain due to elongated styloid process

    Pain is the most frequent cause of suffering and disability. The etiology of orofacial pain is still elusive. However, the etiology has to be ascertained for definitive treatment. Only after a systematic and careful evaluation can a treating surgeon be aware of the underlying cause. Though dental causes predominate in the diagnosis of orofacial pain, the rare cause of facial pain have to be excluded, which would prevent unnecessary and fruitless dental treatment. The present case is an example of a rare condition that may be overlooked during examination. This paper will describe a case of vague unilateral orofacial pain, the diagnosis of which zeroed down to an elongated styloid process

    Adaptive Motion Detection for Image Deblurring in RTS Controller

    Abstract: An Adaptive method for Image Deblurring is presented here. Processing of image data collected from both surveillance camera and on road traffic control motor vehicle camera is a big issue because often the objects are in motion and sometimes both the objects and camera are not steady. This leads to Blurring of the image and further image processing is not possible due to the degradation of received image. So Image Deblurring techniques are applied before enhancement or further processing. But it needs proper data for Deblurring like the frequency characteristics (Point Spread Function (PSF)) and Noise characteristics (Noise-to-Signal Power Ratio(NSR)). The method presented here gives the above information along with the motion information. The information about motion detection is very important because in the Deblurring process the noise estimation cannot be done without knowing actual pixels of the sensor noise present in the image. So to get a deblurred image with proper noise reduction that can be further processed in the RTS (Road Traffic & Safety) controller required information are provided sequentially according to the motion detection and Deblurring algorithm. This method uses some good Deblurring methods like Blind Deconvolution and Regularization filtering along with proper motion detections and characteristics estimations to get an image close to the true image which is sufficient for further processing

    Insight into the Effect of Submicellar Concentrations of Sodium Deoxycholate on the Structure, Stability, and Activity of Bovine and Human Serum Albumin: An Interesting Comparison between Single and Double Tryptophan Proteins

    The progressive escalation in the applications of bile salts in diverse fields has triggered research on their interaction with various biological macromolecules, especially with proteins. A proper understanding of the interaction process of bile salts, particularly in the lower concentrations range, with the serum albumin seems important since the normal serum concentration of bile salts is approximately in the micromolar range. The current study deals with a comprehensive and comparative analysis of the interaction of submicellar concentrations of sodium deoxycholate (NaDC) with two homologous transport proteins: bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human serum albumin (HSA). HSA and BSA with one and two tryptophans, respectively, provide the opportunity for an interesting comparison of tryptophan fluorescence behavior on interaction with NaDC. The study suggests a sequential interaction of NaDC in three discrete stages with the two proteins. A detailed study using warfarin and ibuprofen as site markers provides information about the sites of interaction, which is further confirmed by inclusive molecular dynamics simulation analysis. Moreover, the comparison of the thermodynamics and stability of the NaDC–serum albumin complexes confirms the stronger interaction of NaDC with BSA as compared to that with HSA. The differential interaction between the bile salt and the two serum albumins is further established from the difference in the extent of decrease in the esterase-like activity assay of the proteins in the presence of NaDC. Therefore, the present study provides important insight into the effect of submicellar concentrations of NaDC on the structure, stability, and activity of the two homologous serum albumins and thus can contribute not only to the general understanding of the complex nature of serum albumin–bile salt interactions but also to the design of more effective pharmaceutical formulations in the field of drug delivery and biomedical research
