    Get PDF
There is a need for the establishment of regional benches of the Supreme Court. By the analysis of various statistical data, the paper puts forward the urgent need for widening the reach of the Supreme Court and also to rejuvenate and reestablish the tarnishing reputation of the Supreme Court as an ordinary court of appeal. The paper explores the essential reasons for the establishment of benches of Supreme Court that can be broadly divided into three heads namely (i) wide access to justice (ii) Supreme Court reduced to an ordinary court of appeal (iii) litigation as a measure of well-being. The paper also analyses the recommendations laid out in the 95th, 120th, 125th and 229th Law Commission reports and analyses problem in hand, on the basis of analysis and the immediate need for the reform of the judicial system

The term surfactant is derived from the words surface active agent. Surfactants provide remarkable benefits in many textile wet processes. A surface active chemical is one which tends to accumulate at a surface or interface. An interface is the area of contact between two substances. Where the interface is between two substances not in the same phase, the interface is usually called a surface

An Interactive Game with Virtual Reality Immersion to Improve Cultural Sensitivity in Healthcare

Purpose: Biased perceptions of individuals who are not part of one’s in-groups tend to be negative and habitual. Because health care professionals are no less susceptible to biases than are others, the adverse impact of biases on marginalized populations in health care warrants continued attention and amelioration. Method: Two characters, a Syrian refugee with limited English proficiency and a black pregnant woman with a history of opioid use disorder, were developed for an online training simulation that includes an interactive life course experience focused on social determinants of health, and a clinical encounter in a community health center utilizing virtual reality immersion. Pre- and post-survey data were obtained from 158 health professionals who completed the simulation. Results: Post-simulation data indicated increased feelings of compassion toward the patient and decreased expectations about how difficult future encounters with the patient would be. With respect to attribution, after the simulation participants were less inclined to view the patient as primarily responsible for their situation, suggesting less impact of the fundamental attribution error. Conclusion: This training simulation aimed to utilize components of evidence-based prejudice habit breaking interventions, such as learning more about an individual’s life experience to help minimize filling in gaps with stereotyped assumptions. Although training simulations cannot fully replicate or replace the advantages that come with real-world experience, they can heighten awareness in the increase of increasing the cultural sensitivity of clinicians in health care professions for improving health equity

Use Of Virtual Reality Technology In Medical Training And Patient Rehabilitation

Coaching patients to follow the rehabilitation routines correctly and timely after surgery is often a challenge due to the limited medical knowledge of patients and limited availability of clinicians. Similarly, it is also a challenge to train medical professionals with both the technical and communication skills required in their practices. The recent emergence of VR technologies shines the light on improving the current training practices. In this thesis research, I will look at the development and application of VR-based immersive training games for two particular cases: 1. Post hand surgery rehab; and, 2. Training for Social determinants of health (SDOH) for medical professionals. Particularly, I have developed two training modules. One will help patients to carry out their rehabilitation independently without having to run around to different clinics after their surgery. Assessing, coaching, progress tracking and reporting can be effectively carried out by the artificial intelligence enabled virtual coaching module based on the evidence collected and produced through its sensory system. The progress can be observed remotely by their doctor and therapists and further treatment recommendation can be provided accordingly. Secondly, I have developed an immersive VR game module that focuses on providing training for medical professionals on social determinants of health. It provides a first-person view immersive experience for the doctors to better understand their patients with significantly different social and economic backgrounds, leading to better healthcare quality for these patients
