    Asymptotic Safety, Singularities, and Gravitational Collapse

    Asymptotic safety (an ultraviolet fixed point with finite-dimensional critical surface) offers the possibility that a predictive theory of quantum gravity can be obtained from the quantization of classical general relativity. However, it is unclear what becomes of the singularities of classical general relativity, which, it is hoped, might be resolved by quantum effects. We study dust collapse with a running gravitational coupling and find that a future singularity can be avoided if the coupling becomes exactly zero at some finite energy scale. The singularity can also be avoided (pushed off to infinite proper time) if the coupling approaches zero sufficiently rapidly at high energies. However, the evolution deduced from perturbation theory still implies a singularity at finite proper time.Comment: 6 pages, latex. Version to appear in Physics Letters

    Data Mining is a process that uses statistical techniques, mathematics, artificial intelligence, machine learning to extract and identify useful information and related knowledge from large databases. Data mining is the process of finding new patterns in data by filtering large amounts of data. Data mining uses pattern recognition technology that is similar to statistical techniques and mathematical techniques. The patterns found can provide useful information for generating economic benefits, effectiveness and efficiency. Algorithm Naive Bayes Classifier is one method of data mining that can be used to support effective and efficient promotion strategies. The Naive Bayes Classifier algorithm is used to predict the interest of the study based on the calculations performed. The data used are new student registration data from 2014 until 2016 at Bina Darma University. The results of this study are new models that are expected to provide important information can be used to assist the Marketing Team of Bina Darma University Palembang in policy making and implementation of appropriate marketing strategy.     Minimal Uncertainty in Momentum: The Effects of IR Gravity on Quantum Mechanics

    The effects of the IR aspects of gravity on quantum mechanics is investigated. At large distances where due to gravity the space-time is curved, there appears nonzero minimal uncertainty Δp0\Delta p_{0} in the momentum of a quantum mechanical particle. We apply the minimal uncertainty momentum to some quantum mechanical interferometry examples and show that the phase shift depends on the area surrounded by the path of the test particle . We also put some limits on the related parameters. This prediction may be tested through future experiments. The assumption of minimal uncertainty in momentum can also explain the anomalous excess of the mass of the Cooper pair in a rotating thin superconductor ring.Comment: 8 pages, revised version accepted by PR

    Perbedaan Perubahan Lemak Tubuh Dan Berat Badan Atlet Balap Sepeda Pada Berbagai Intensitas Latihan

    Penurunan persen lemak dan berat badan dapat terjadi pada latihan endurance. Salah satuolahraga yang termasuk latihan endurance adalah balap sepeda. Tujuan dari penelitian iniuntuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan berat badan dan persen lemak pada durasilatihan yang berbeda. Sebanyak 9 atlet balap sepeda dengan usia 23±3,2 tahun, tinggi badan168,5±4,2 cm, dan berat badan 60,2±4,6 kg ikut dalam penelitian ini. Perubahan berat badandan persen lemak tubuh diukur dengan menggunakan timbangan CAMRY EF311BWsebelum dan setelah latihan. Intensitas latihan diukur menggunakan alat garmin seri EDG510.Terdapat beda signifikan (p<0,05) pada Perubahan persen lemak tubuh latihan ringandibanding latihan sedang dan latihan berat.
