Delving into Ipsilateral Mammogram Assessment under Multi-View Network

In many recent years, multi-view mammogram analysis has been focused widely on AI-based cancer assessment. In this work, we aim to explore diverse fusion strategies (average and concatenate) and examine the model's learning behavior with varying individuals and fusion pathways, involving Coarse Layer and Fine Layer. The Ipsilateral Multi-View Network, comprising five fusion types (Pre, Early, Middle, Last, and Post Fusion) in ResNet-18, is employed. Notably, the Middle Fusion emerges as the most balanced and effective approach, enhancing deep-learning models' generalization performance by +2.06% (concatenate) and +5.29% (average) in VinDr-Mammo dataset and +2.03% (concatenate) and +3% (average) in CMMD dataset on macro F1-Score. An Application of Analytic Network Process (ANP) to Assess Critical Risks of Bridge Projects in the Mekong Delta Region

Risk management is one of the critical factors contributing to infrastructure project success. Risk assessment enables both practitioners and decision-makers to identify and analyze potential risks and quantify risk impacts on project performance in terms of time, cost, and quality. Even though many studies attempt to investigate the risk of construction projects with the consideration of technical, organizational, and legal aspects, only a few studies deeply focus on identifying the critical risks of bridge projects with the examination of climate change impact. The current study concentrates on analyzing risks in bridge construction projects in the Mekong Delta region which has been significantly affected by climate change. An intensive review of previous publications and technical project reports from 2010 to 2021 was conducted to identify the list of potential risks and interviews and discussions with engineers and managers involved in bridge projects were carried out to identify critical risks of bridge projects. Analytic Network Process (ANP) method was introduced to evaluate the impact of such risks on the performance of bridge project implementation. The initial results of this study provide a holistic picture of risk management for bridge projects with the consideration of climate change impact. The findings can help the involved parties including owners, contractors, and project managers to assess particular risks and scheme backup plans to mitigate project delays and cost overruns

Factors affecting paddy farmers to procure farm inputs in debt

The aim of this study deals with reasons that almost paddy farmers in Mekong River Delta have to procure farm inputs in debt. With 216 households interviewed by questionnaires in An Giang province and using regression model, the study has found that the lack of capital for rice production and the cost of farm inputs are key elements to impact positively on paddy farmers who procure inputs in debt. Furthermore, householder’s paddy growing experience, rice selling price, residential area, and value of the property affect negatively inputs procurement in debt of rice farmers. In addition, household size, farm size, and interest of purchase of inputs in debt influence positively on rice farmers when they purchase inputs on credit

ANALYSIS OF THE POPULARITY OF VOCABULARY USED WHEN PERFORMING SPEAKING ACTIVITIES IN THE CLASS OF FIRST-YEAR ENGLISH LANGUAGE STUDENTS IN THE DIRECTION OF DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

Vocabulary learning is extremely important when learning a foreign language. Fluency in a language depends on vocabulary and its use in specific situations. Speaking well is using vocabulary flexibly and speaking fluently. Researching the popularity of vocabulary is analyzing the prevalence of vocabulary used by linguistics students in communication from discourse analysis. This is a topic the research team is working on. This project will help the researchers learn about common vocabulary that students often use to communicate outside or in the classroom. Thereby understanding whether the vocabulary that students use is diverse, rich, and for the right purpose or not. This study will help students have a more comprehensive view of the ways to use words in communication. In addition, it also helps students improve their communication vocabulary, helps in exams and can be useful for later work. In this study, the research team will investigate the students' ability to use spoken vocabulary, i.e., frequency and extent of vocabulary usage.  Article visualizations

Status of the shore area from Tiengiang to Camau: causes of accumulation and erosion

The paper presents some results of the research programs which had been performed during 1996-1999 (“Studying of river-sea interaction in the mouth of Tien river” and KHCN.06.08). Based on these results the morphological schemes of the shore areas from Tiengiang to Camau were compiled; causes and mechanics of accumulation and erosion were also determined. These results may be used as scientific basis for forecasting the development of the shoreline, it will contribute to the management, protection and reasonable exploitation the shore areas
