The structure of the title compound, [Cu(C8H7O2)2(C3H4N2)2(C8H8O2)2], consists of centrosymmetric monomeric units, in which the CuII atom has a tetragonally distorted octahedral coordination involving two imidazole N atoms and two carboxylate O atoms in the square plane [Cu—N = 1.964 (3) and Cu—O = 1.960 (2) Å] and 2-methylbenzoic acid O atoms in axial sites [Cu—O = 2.753 (3) Å]. Within the complex, the carboxylic acid forms intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, while the molecules are assembled through N—H⋯O(carboxyl) hydrogen bonds into chains extending along the a-axis direction. These chains are further linked by weak π–π interactions [centroid–centroid separation = 3.930 (2) Å]

Study of market model describing the contrary behaviors of informed and uninformed agents: Being minority and being majority

In this paper we analyze the contrary behaviors of the informed investors and uniformed investors, and then construct a competition model with two groups of agents, namely agents who intend to stay in minority and those who intend to stay in majority. We find two kinds of competitions, inter- and intra-groups. The model shows periodic fluctuation feature. The average distribution of strategies illustrates a prominent central peak which is relevant to the peak-fat-tail character of price change distribution in stock markets. Furthermore, in the modified model the tolerance time parameter makes the agents diversified. Finally, we compare the strategies distribution with the price change distribution in real stock market, and we conclude that contrary behavior rules and tolerance time parameter are indeed valid in the description of market model

Effects of Vanadium doping on BaFe2As2

We report an investigation of the structural, magnetic and electronic properties of Ba(Fe(1-x)V(x))2As2 using x-ray, transport, magnetic susceptibility and neutron scattering measurements. The vanadium substitutions in Fe sites are possible up to 40\%. Hall effect measurements indicate strong hole-doping effect through V doping, while no superconductivity is observed in all samples down to 2K. The antiferromagnetic and structural transition temperature of BaFe2As2 is gradually suppressed to finite temperature then vanishes at x=0.245 with the emergence of spin glass behavior, suggesting an avoided quantum critical point (QCP). Our results demonstrate that the avoided QCP and spin glass state which were previously reported in the superconducting phase of Co/Ni-doped BaFe2As2 can also be realized in non-superconducting Ba(Fe(1-x)V(x))2As2.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figure

Description of variation of genlculate's features of _Phyllodiaptomustunguidus_ shen et Tai and sex-linked inheritance of Calanoida in freshwater

In the present paper, variation of genlculate's features of _Phyllodiaptomustunguidus_ shen et Tai of Calanoida are described. The authors find that the right first antenna of female species has changed into genlculate and first antenna of male species changed into genlculate, which can be explained by X-sex-linked inheritance. This isn't a disease but a genetic characteristic that is better for the living of the species

In the title molecule, C18H16F2O4, the two benzene rings form a dihedral angle of 55.2 (2)°. In the crystal structure, weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains propagating along the c axis

Downramp-assisted underdense photocathode electron bunch generation in plasma wakefield accelerators

    Get PDF
It is shown that the requirements for high quality electron bunch generation and trapping from an underdense photocathode in plasma wakefield accelerators can be substantially relaxed through localizing it on a plasma density downramp. This depresses the phase velocity of the accelerating electric field until the generated electrons are in phase, allowing for trapping in shallow trapping potentials. As a consequence the underdense photocathode technique is applicable by a much larger number of accelerator facilities. Furthermore, dark current generation is effectively suppressed.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

Cloning and Expression Analysis of a PISTILLATA Homologous Gene from Pineapple (Ananas comosus L. Merr)

PISTILLATA (PI)-like genes are crucial regulators of flowering in angiosperms. A homologue of PI, designated as AcPI (Genbank accession number HQ717796), was isolated from pineapple cultivar Comte de Paris by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE). The cDNA sequence of AcPI is 907 bp in length and contains an open reading frame of 594 bp, which encodes a protein of 197 amino acids. The molecular weight was 2.29 kDa and the isoelectric point was 9.28. The alignment showed that AcPI had a high identity with CsPIC2 (78.6%), AoPI (77.4%), OrcPI (75.7%) and HPI2 (72.4%). Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analyses in different tissues showed that the expression pattern of AcPI was different from the B-class genes in eudicots. AcPI was expressed in all the tissues investigated. The expression level was very low in fruit stems, bracts, leaves and sepals, high in petals and carpels, and moderate in apical meristems, flesh and stamens. The qRT-PCR analyses in different stages indicated that the expression of AcPI reached the highest level at 40 days after flower inducement, when the multiple fruit and floral organs were forming. It proved the important role of AcPI in floral organs and fruit development. The 35S::AcPI transgenic Arabidopsis plants flowered earlier and had more inflorescences or branches than wild type plants
