    An Experiment of Game Promotion and Selling Using Twitter

    — The combination of the internet, social media and mobile phones makes the social mobile game is becoming a huge market with high growth rates from year to year. This trend is attract the game developers/publisher vying to enter this game market including in Indonesia. In other hand, Twitter as one of social media has a major influence on consumer purchase decisions especially in social mobile games. Consumer seeking recommendation about game that they want to download based on their friend recommendation and content that their consume in social media before visit online store. As for Indonesia game developers most of their marketing activities were more to game gathering or events, there is little that effectively use social media as marketing channel. Social media adoption including twitter in Indonesia game developer is at stage of connectivity and proff of company existance. The purpose of this research is to know does using twitter as social media marketing have effect to influence consumer and download mobile game. In this research, experiment methodology was employed. Experiment was choosed because to have real insight about the effect of twitter as social media marketing in building games relationship with consumer and increase the number of game download. Stack The Stuff, game from PT. Nightspade was choosed as research object. The implementation using OASIS frawework as guidance. The results from the experiments in this research measured using Social Model Exposure-Engagement-Influence-Action from Don Bartholomew.Twitter as media marketing executed by carrying experiment 1 (15 August 2012 - 15 September 2012) with buzzing methods first, after it finish, followed by experiment 2 (22 September - 22 October 2012) with tweeting and offering method. Then, both experiment results compared to know which the better Twitter marketing method. The measurement using several tools, namely TweetLevel, Sprout Social, and downloads data. With confidence level 95%, our results suggested that twitter as media marketing with buzzing method have effect to increase game download and tweeting and offering method have effect to increase product engagement and influence in Twitter. Furthermore, in the end of research, there are recommendations to implement twitter as social media marketing for small-middle sized company like Indonesia game developer

    Functional modulation of AMP-activated protein kinase by cereblon

    AbstractMutations in cereblon (CRBN), a substrate binding component of the E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, cause a form of mental retardation in humans. However, the cellular proteins that interact with CRBN remain largely unknown. Here, we report that CRBN directly interacts with the α1 subunit of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK α1) and inhibits the activation of AMPK activation. The ectopic expression of CRBN reduces phosphorylation of AMPK α1 and, thus, inhibits the enzyme in a nutrient-independent manner. Moreover, AMPK α1 can be potently activated by suppressing endogenous CRBN using CRBN-specific small hairpin RNAs. Thus, CRBN may act as a negative modulator of the AMPK signaling pathway in vivo

    We investigate the pathway of thinning process for transient [110] nanowires (NWs) of Ag. The result is in good agreement with experimental observations. An unambiguous identification of the structure of a NW requires at least two views along different directions. In the cases where two views of different NW structures are practically the same for very thin NWs which pose experimental difficulty due to small signal-to-noise ratio, our theoretical analysis helps distinguish these structures. On the basis of conductance (G) calculations vis-a-vis the structure of transient NWs, the puzzling experimental observation of fractionally quantized G values is explained by considering the existence of mixed structures for thin wires.open353

    Application of the Whole Genome-Based Bacterial Identification System, TrueBac ID, Using Clinical Isolates That Were Not Identified With Three Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) Systems

    Background: Next-generation sequencing is increasingly used for taxonomic identification of pathogenic bacterial isolates. We evaluated the performance of a newly introduced whole genome-based bacterial identification system, TrueBac ID (ChunLab Inc., Seoul, Korea), using clinical isolates that were not identified by three matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) systems and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Methods: Thirty-six bacterial isolates were selected from a university-affiliated hospital and a commercial clinical laboratory. Species was identified by three MALDI-TOF MS systems: Bruker Biotyper MS (Bruker Daltonics, Billerica, MA, USA), VITEK MS (bioMerieux, Marcy l'Etoile, France), and ASTA MicrolDSys (ASTA Inc., Suwon, Korea). Whole genome sequencing was conducted using the Illumina MiSeq system (Illumina, San Diego, CA, USA), and genome-based identification was performed using the TrueBac ID cloud system (www.truebacid.com ). Results: TrueBac ID assigned 94% (34/36) of the isolates to known (N=25) or novel (N=4) species, genomospecies (N=3), or species group (N=2). The remaining two were identified at the genus level. Conclusions: TrueBac ID successfully identified the majority of isolates that MALDI-TOF MS failed to identify. Genome-based identification can be a useful tool in clinical laboratories, with its superior accuracy and database-driven operations.

    Avian SERPINB12 Expression in the Avian Oviduct Is Regulated by Estrogen and Up-Regulated in Epithelial Cell-Derived Ovarian Carcinomas of Laying Hens

    Serine protease inhibitors (SERPINs) are involved in a variety of biological processes such as blood clotting, angiogenesis, immune system, and embryogenesis. Although, of these, SERPINB12 is identified as the latest member of clade B in humans, little is known of it in chickens. Thus, in this study, we investigated SERPINB12 expression profiles in various tissues of chickens and focused on effects of steroid hormone regulation of its expression. In the chicken oviduct, SERPINB12 mRNA and protein are abundant in the luminal (LE) and glandular (GE) epithelia of the magnum in response to endogenous or exogenous estrogen. Furthermore, SERPINB12 mRNA and protein increase significantly in GE of cancerous ovaries of laying hens with epithelia-derived ovarian cancer. Collectively, these results indicate that SERPINB12 is a novel estrogen-stimulated gene that is up-regulated by estrogen in epithelial cells of the chicken oviduct and that it is a potential biomarker for early detection of ovarian carcinomas in laying hens and women

    Dietary Antioxidants and the Mitochondrial Quality Control: Their Potential Roles in Parkinson's Disease Treatment

    Advances in medicine and dietary standards over recent decades have remarkably increased human life expectancy. Unfortunately, the chance of developing age‐related diseases, including neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs), increases with increased life expectancy. High metabolic demands of neurons are met by mitochondria, damage of which is thought to contribute to the development of many NDDs including Parkinson’s disease (PD). Mitochondrial damage is closely associated with the abnormal production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are widely known to be toxic in various cellular environments, including NDD contexts. Thus, ways to prevent or slow mitochondrial dysfunction are needed for the treatment of these NDDs. In this review, we first detail how ROS are associated with mitochondrial dysfunction and review the cellular mechanisms, such as the mitochondrial quality control (MQC) system, by which neurons defend against both abnormal production of ROS and the subsequent accumulation of damaged mitochondria. We next highlight previous studies that link mitochondrial dysfunction with PD and how dietary antioxidants might provide reinforcement of the MQC system. Finally, we discuss how aging plays a role in mitochondrial dysfunction and PD before considering how healthy aging through proper diet and exercise may be salutary. © 2020 by the authors.
