Self-assembled nanostructured resistive switching memory devices fabricated by templated bottom-up growth

    Get PDF
Metal-oxide-based resistive switching memory device has been studied intensively due to its potential to satisfy the requirements of next-generation memory devices. Active research has been done on the materials and device structures of resistive switching memory devices that meet the requirements of high density, fast switching speed, and reliable data storage. In this study, resistive switching memory devices were fabricated with nano-template-assisted bottom up growth. The electrochemical deposition was adopted to achieve the bottom-up growth of nickel nanodot electrodes. Nickel oxide layer was formed by oxygen plasma treatment of nickel nanodots at low temperature. The structures of fabricated nanoscale memory devices were analyzed with scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscope (AFM). The electrical characteristics of the devices were directly measured using conductive AFM. This work demonstrates the fabrication of resistive switching memory devices using self-assembled nanoscale masks and nanomateirals growth from bottom-up electrochemical deposition.11109Ysciescopu

Common Replenishment Strategies in Supply Chain under Uncertainty Demand Environment

    Get PDF
This paper is based on the model proposed by Viswanathan and continue to analyze the benefit of supply chain inventories through the use of common replenishment epochs. We studied a one-vendor, multi-buyer supply chain for a single product under uncertainty demand environment. The vendor specifies common replenishment periods and asks all buyers to replenish only at those time period and the price discount to be offered by the vendor are determined by the solution to a Stackelberg game. A numerical study is conducted to evaluate the benefit of the strategy by simulation

In the monomeric title complex, [CoCl2(C3H5N3S)2], the CoII atom is tetracoordinated by two chloride anions and two N atoms from two monodentate 2-amino-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole ligands, giving a slightly distorted tetrahedral stereochemistry [bond angle range about Co = 105.16 (12)–112.50 (10)°]. In the complex, the dihedral angle between the 1,3,4-thiadiazole planes in the two ligands is 72.8 (1)°. There are two intramolecular N—H⋯Cl interactions in the complex unit, while in the crystal, intermolecular N—H⋯N and N—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link these units into a two-dimensional layered structure parallel to (011)

Flightless-I Controls Fat Storage in Drosophila

Triglyceride homeostasis is a key process of normal development and is essential for the maintenance of energy metabolism. Dysregulation of this process leads to metabolic disorders such as obesity and hyperlipidemia. Here, we report a novel function of the Drosophila flightless-I (fliI) gene in lipid metabolism. Drosophila fliI mutants were resistant to starvation and showed increased levels of triglycerides in the fat body and intestine, whereas fliI overexpression decreased triglyceride levels. These flies suffered from metabolic stress indicated by increased levels of trehalose in hemolymph and enhanced phosphorylation of eukaryotic initiation factor 2 alpha (eIF2??). Moreover, upregulation of triglycerides via a knockdown of fliI was reversed by a knockdown of desat1 in the fat body of flies. These results indicate that fliI suppresses the expression of desat1, thereby inhibiting the development of obesity; fliI may, thus, serve as a novel therapeutic target in obesity and metabolic diseases

Effects of acupuncture on rheumatoid arthritis: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture for treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Materials and Methods: The literature were searched using 6 databases, including Pubmed, Embase, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP and Wanfang database up to December 2013, without language restrictions. All randomized clinical trials (RCTs) comparing acupuncture treatment with non-acupuncture treatment of RA was considered. Methodological quality was assessed using the Jadad score. Results: After strict screening, a total of 21 studies containing 1772 participants were included. The meta-analysis indicated that a significant benefit of acupuncture compared with non-acupuncture on improving the symptoms of RA (pooled RR = 1.19, 95% CI 1.08–1.31, Z = 3.47, P = 0.001). In the subgroup analysis, 9 RCTs showed significant effects of acupuncture for response rate compared with western medicine (RR = 1.26, 95% CI 1.02–1.55, Z = 2.19, P = 0.028); 5 RCTs showed significant effects of acupuncture plus traditional Chinese drug compared with traditional Chinese drug (RR = 1.17, 95% CI 1.07–1.29, Z = 3.31, P = 0.001); 5 RCTs showed beneficial effects of acupuncture plus western medicine compared with western medicine (RR = 1.27, 95% CI 1.06–1.53, Z = 2.56 P = 0.01).Conclusion: This meta-analysis demonstrates that acupuncture may have a favorable effect on treating RA. However, the evidence was limited by the small sample size and the low methodological quality. Considering the potential of acupuncture, more researches and well-designed, rigorous and large clinical trials are needed.Key words: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Rheumatoid arthritis, Meta-analysi

Efficient hybrid organic-inorganic light emitting diodes with self-assembled dipole molecule deposited metal oxides

    Get PDF
We investigate the effect of self-assembled dipole molecules (SADMs) on ZnO surface in hybrid organic-inorganic polymeric light-emitting diodes (HyPLEDs). Despite the SADM being extremely thin, the magnitude and orientation of SADM dipole moment effectively influenced the work function of the ZnO. As a consequence, the charge injection barrier between the conduction band of the ZnO and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital of poly(9,9(')-dioctylfluorene)-co-benzothiadiazole could be efficiently controlled resulting that electron injection efficiency is remarkably enhanced. The HyPLEDs modified with a negative dipolar SADM exhibited enhanced device performances, which correspond to approximately a fourfold compared to those of unmodified HyPLEDs.open442

Public Transportation Service Evaluations Utilizing Seoul Transportation Card Data

AbstractThis study evaluated transit service performance in Seoul using data collected from the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system in Seoul. The distance-based fare system in Seoul allows a maximum of four transfers with no additional charges to encourage transit ridership. In order to analyze the transit transfers, this study developed quantitative indicators for public transportation evaluations differentiated from those of previous studies by the fact that it utilizes data mining techniques which incorporate massive amounts of data (over 10 million transits per day) derived from the smart card system. This study not only carried out an evaluation to improve public transportation quality but provided comparative analysis of the mobility handicapped and an evaluation of public transportation users’ regional equity. This evaluative analysis of Level of Services (LOS) for various items is expected to be adopted for analyzing LOS status and generating improvement priorities and to be utilized as an objective database for public transportation policy decisions
