    Elektrodijaliza predstavlja suvremenu membransku metodu koja se u svijetu sve više koristi za demineralizaciju sirutke radi ostvarivanja njene veće primjene u proizvodnji hrane za ljude. Slatko-slani ukus sirutke u prahu i visoki sadržaj mineralnih tvari naročito ograničavaju njeno učešće u proizvodima konditorske industrije i proizvodnji dječje hrane. Na laboratorijskom uređaju vršena je elektrodijaliza svježe, slatke surutke pri različitim gustoćama struje.Elektrodialysis represents a modern contemporary membrane process which beside many other recent applications finds increasing uses in whey desalinization.     THE STUDY OF THE AGE-RELATED DYNAMICS OF THE REACTION TIME TO VISUAL STIMULI IN SCHOOLCHILDREN

    A fast reaction to visual stimuli is important for the success of any athlete. A fast reaction time enables a quick response in key situations. We have studied how age, sport engagement, moderate physical activity and lateralization affect the simple reaction time to visual stimuli in schoolchildren between the ages of 9 and 13. The reaction time to visual stimuli was statistically significantly shorter in older children compared to younger ones. The sport club basketball players who had been training and playing basketball for several years had a statistically significantly shorter reaction time to visual stimuli compared to schoolchildren of the same age from a rural environment who did not engage in sports. Moderate physical activity and lateralization did not significantly affect the reaction time values. The simple reaction time to visual stimuli was used in this study to evaluate the speed and explosive abilities of young basketball players. By training certain movements, we managed to improve their reaction time and thus influence the quality of their game. Integrating training of these skills into sport clubs and schools would affect the improvement of basketball performance and the prevention of injury

    Proizvodnja kvalitetnog grožđa i visokokvalitetnog vina tipičnog za određeno vinogradarsko područje, temelji se na ekološkim, odnosno abiotičkim i antropogenim faktorima terroir-a. Ovaj proces započinje optimalnim korišćenjem zemljišta, a sve u skladu s konkretnim, odnosno lokalnim uslovima sredine. Budući da je vinova loza višegodišnja, dugovečna biljka, optimalno korišćenje zemljišta u vinogradarstvu je posebno važno u cilju dobijanja stabilnih prinosa i grožđa odgovarajućeg kvaliteta. S obzirom na to da ova plemenita biljka razvija moćan korenov sistem, zemljišnim uslovma mora se pristupiti planski. Iz tog razloga, pri podizanju vinograda, veoma je važno optimizovati sve neophodne uslove uređenja zemljišta za gajenje, počevši od drenaže zemljišta, đubrenja, protiverozionih mera, kalcizacije, pa sve do izbora odgovarajuće sorte i (često zaboravljene) podloge vinove loze. Izbor lozne podloge, zajedno sa sortom vinove loze kao antropogenog faktora terroir-a, zasniva se na konkretnim karakteristikama abiotičkih faktora terroir-a vinogradarskih mikropodručja, agrobiološkim svojstvima nakalemljenih sorti i drugim ljudskim faktorima uključujući i zahteve tržišta

    Nanofabrikacija planarnih split ring rezonatora za metamaterijale sa negativnim indeksom prelamanja u infracrvenom opsegu

    Experimental nanofabrication of planar structures for one-dimensional metamaterials designed to achieve a negative effective refractive index in the mid-infrared range (5-10 micrometers) was performed. Double split ring and complementary double split ring resonators (SRR and CSRR) with square and circular geometries, were chosen to be fabricated since these are the basic building blocks to achieve a negative effective dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability. Scanning probe nanolithography with z-scanner movement was used to fabricate straight-line and curvilinear segments with a line width of 80-120 nm. The geometries were delineated in 20 nm thin silver layers sputter-deposited on a positive photoresist substrate spin-coated on polished single crystal silicon wafers, as well as on polycarbonate slabs. The morphology of the structures was characterized by atomic force microscopy. The feature repeatibility was 60-150 nm, depending on the process conditions and the feature complexity. The nanolithographic groove depth in different samples ranged from 4 nm to 80 nm.Vršena je eksperimentalna nanofabrikacija planarnih struktura za jednodimenzionalne metamaterijale projektovane da dostignu negativnu vrednost efektivnog indeksa prelamanja u srednjetalasnom infracrvenom opsegu (5-10 mikrometara). Napravljeni su dvostruki split ring i komplementarni split ring rezonatori (SRR i CSRR) sa kvadratnom i kružnom geometrijom, pošto se oni mogu koristiti kao osnovni gradivni blokovi za dostizanje negativne efektivne dielektrične permitivnosti i magnetske permeabilnosti. Korišćena je nanolitografija skanirajućom sondom u režimu z-pomeraja skanera da bi se napravili pravolinijski i zakrivljeni segmenti sa širinom linije 80 - 120 nm. Geometrija je delineirana u 20 nm debelim slojevima srebra deponovanim spaterovanjem na podlogu od fotorezista nanetu spinerom na polirane pločice monokristala silicijuma, kao i na polikarbonatnim pločicama. Morfologija struktura karakterisana je "atomic force" mikroskopom. Ponovljivost detalja bila je 60-150 nm, zavisno od procesnih uslova i složenosti detalja.     Dvogodišnji poljski eksperimentalni dvofaktorijalni ogled bio je postavljen po dizajnu spli-plot sa dve sorte pasulja i pet tretmana sa organskim dubrivom i mikrobiološkim preparatima. Cilj je bio da se utvrdi uticaj faktora ispitivanja na morfološke osobine — broj bočnih grana i visinu biljaka koje indirektno utiču na prinos u organskom sistemu gajenja. Sorta Zlatko u proseku je formirala 7,80% više bočnih grana i 2,05% veću visinu biljaka u odnosu na sortu Maksa.The biennial two-factorial field experiment was set by split-plot design with two bean varieties and five treatments with organic fertilizer and microbiological preparations. The aim was to identify the influence of the examination factors on the morphological characteristics — number of side branches and plant height which indirectly affects the yield in an organic system of production.     Staphylococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) is typically detected in newborns and children but can be seen in adults occasionally. In such a case, it points out usually on some immune system dysfunction. We present a case of a critically-ill adult male with STSS and symptoms and signs of serious systemic infection (hemodynamic instability, acute renal failure, mental confusion). After the completion of applied treatment (antistaphylococcal antimicrobials, hemodialysis, vasopressor, supportive, and symptomatic therapy), complete restoration of presented patients' derangements was achieved. Timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment is the mainstay in the management of STSS in adults.Stafilokokni toksični šok sindrom (STŠS) se obično javlja kod novorođenčadi i dece, ali se povremeno može javiti i kod odraslih. U tom slučaju, obično ukazuje na disfunkciju imunog sistema. Prikazan je slučaj kritično-obolelog odraslog muškarca sa STŠS i simptomima i znacima životno-ugrožavajuće sistemske infekcije (hemodinamska nestabilnost, akutna insuficijencija bubrega, konfuzija). Nakon završenog lečenja (anti-stafilokoni antibiotici, hemodijaliza, vazopresori, suportivna i simptomatska terapija), postignuta je potpuna remisija kod obolelog.     The International Research Centre for Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages prepared a Festschrift in honour of one of its founders, Igor Fisković on the occassion of his 70th birthday. The Festschrift  includes works addressing the periods that Igor Fisković has dealt with most, thus reflecting the diversity of his interests, ranging from Late Antiquity to contemporary art, with key emphasis on the Late Middle Ages and early modernity. Due to the diversity and the broad period of time the texts are covering, they have been arranged more or less chronologically. The works focus mainly on the Late Middle Ages and the early modern period, Fisković’s forte and the topic of some of his best writings. There are also several texts addressing the baroque period, which was not one of the honouree’s interests, but they were written by some of his closest friends and members of the generation of his former students who have had prestigious careers.
