Metaphorization of space in a scientific text

The metaphorical sections of the Russian sub-systems and typical models of the semantic derivation in the scientific text are analysed. The scientific metaphor is viewed as an epistemic phenomenon. The cognitive approach lets comprehend the semantic of the space as a language embodiment of the world model which exists in the Russian speakers’ consciousness and expressed by a system of metaphorical nominations. The two concepts of space are introduced on the basis of which the semantic classes “space-container” and “space-construction” are singled out. These classes include several groups which are characterised by the difference of the space relations in the initial meaning and the created metaphorical images. The author analyses the lexical units which are regularly employed for the metaphorical formation of terms. The space meaning of these lexical units becomes the motivation ground for the nomination of the non-space sphere phenomena. The role of the metaphorical transfer axiological components is shown. This role is determined by the reinterpretation of the objects’ spatial characteristics.

Indicators by means of which components of innovative potential can be estimated are considered. On the basis of the carried-out assessment of the key components which are a part of innovative potential the modied formula of calculation of the expected size of the prot got from sale of hi-tech production which the enterprise makes independently is oered

    Synanthropic flora of Kuzbass

The article presents the materials of studies of the adventive flora of the Kemerovo region. For the territory of the Kemerovo region, we identified 244 alien species belonging to 162 genera and 50 families. As a result of the increasing process of invasion of new species into the territory of the region, the need for constant monitoring of alien species for the degree of their naturalization, especially in natural cenoses, is urgent. The problem of synanthropic plant species is becoming increasingly important not only for economically developed territories, but also for the relatively preserved mountain regions of Kuzbass. As a result of the studies, it was found that the synanthropic fraction of the Kuzbass flora, consisting of adventive and apophyte species, accounts for about 18% of the total composition of the flora of vascular plants in the Kemerovo region (60 apophyte species, 244 – advent ones). The revealed heterogeneity in the chorological, ecological and biological terms of the species of the adventive fraction makes it possible to find suitable conditions in various types of ecotopes on the territory of the Kemerovo region. This type of work can serve as a basis for developing a strategy for the preservation of natural phytosystems of Kuzbas

Effect of triazavirine on the outcome of a lethal influenza infection and secondary bacterial pneumonia following influenza in mice

Pneumonia often occurs as secondary infection post influenza disease and accounts for a large proportion of the morbidity and mortality associated with seasonal and pandemic influenza outbreaks. The antiviral drug triazavirine is licensed in Russia for the treatment and prophylaxis of acute respiratory infections, including influenza A and B viruses. In the present study, we investigated the efficacy of triazavirine in a mouse model of secondary Staphylococcus aureus pneumonia following A/California/04/2009 (H1N1)pdm09 influenza virus infection. We also performed a study of the efficacy of triazavirine against the A/California/04/2009 (H1N1)pdm09 lethal influenza infection in mice. In this model, triazavirine at the dose of 25 mg/kg/day significantly enhanced the survival of animals (60% compared to 20%) and the mean survival time to death, prevented weight loss, and reduced viral titer in the lungs of mice infected with influenza virus. At doses of 50 and 100 mg/kg/day, triazavirine was highly effective in the treatment of the secondary bacterial pneumonia following influenza infection in mice. At these doses, triazavirine protected 67-75% of animals against death, increased the mean survival time to death by twofold, and reduced the virus titer by 2.2-3.0 log10TCID50/ml compared to the mice in the control group. These findings suggest the possible benefit of triazavirine treatment in reducing post influenza pneumonia incidence in humans.Pneumonia often occurs as secondary infection post influenza disease and accounts for a large proportion of the morbidity and mortality associated with seasonal and pandemic influenza outbreaks. The article is devoted to the study of evaluative tools used in modern French media in order to form the media image of a representative of the political elite. The techniques used in the creation of a memorial media portrait of Jacques Chirac (1932—2019), President of France from 1995 to 2007 are considered. The research material was the most prestigious French print media of various political orientations, published in late September — early October 2019 in connection with the death of the ex-President of the French Republic. The relevance of the research topic is dictated by the close attention of modern linguistics to axiological phenomena, differently presented in different types of discursive practices. The novelty of the study is due to the appeal to the analysis of the complex of evaluation tools used in the French print media when characterizing the former leader of the state during the nation’s farewell period. The estimated potential of the title of the article and its influence on the formation of the estimated vector of the entire text of the publication are shown. A systematic analysis of the assessment expression means, reflected in the memorial media portrait of the politician, is given. The factors that influenced the peculiarities of their use in this type of media portrait are revealed

Vanadium(V)-containing oxides show superior intercalation properties for alkaline ions, although the performance of the material strongly depends on its surface morphology. In this work, intercalation activity of LiV3_{3}O8_{8}, prepared by a conventional solid state synthesis, is demonstrated for the first time in non-aqueous Li,Na-ion hybrid batteries with Na as negative electrode, and different Na/Li ratios in the electrolyte. In the pure Na-ion cell, one Na per formula unit of LiV3_{3}O8_{8} can be reversibly inserted at room temperature via a two-step process, while further intercalation leads to gradual amorphisation of the material, with a specific capacity of 190 mAhg1^{−1} after 10 cycles in the potential window of 0.8–3.4 V. Hybrid Li,Na-ion batteries feature simultaneous intercalation of Li+^+ and Na+^+ cations into LiV3_{3}O8_{8}, resulting in the formation of a second phase. Depending on the electrolyte composition, this second phase bears structural similarities either to Li0.7_{0.7}Na0.7_{0.7}V3_{3}O8_{8} in Na-rich electrolytes, or to LiV3_{3}O8_{8} in Li-rich electrolytes. The chemical diffusion coefficients of Na+ and Li+ in crystalline LiV3_{3}O8_{8} are very close, hence explaining the co-intercalation of these cations. As DFT calculations show, once formed, the Li0.7_{0.7}Na0.7_{0.7}V3_{3}O8_{8}-type structure favors intercalation of Na+^+, whereas the LiV3_{3}O8_{8}-type prefers to accommodate Li+^+ cations
