Malostonski je zaljev od davnina poznat po uzgoju europske plosnate kamenice Ostrea edulis. Taj je školjkaš, cijenjen na tržištu kao poslastica, i danas jedan od osnovnih izvora prihoda stanovništva toga područja. Zbog sve veće konkurencije na trržištu, u interesu je proizvođača zaštititi ovaj izrazito cijenjeni proizvod. Oznaka zemljopisnog podrijetla, oznaka izvornosti, oznaka tradicionalnog ugleda ili žig mogući su oblici zaštite proizvoda na tržištu, koji ujedno proizvođačima omogućuju ostvarivanje većeg profita. Usklađivanje zakonskih propisa Republike Hrvatske s propisima Europske unije postavilo je nove zahtjeve i pred hrvatsku školjkarsku industriju. U radu su navedeni zahtjevi kojima treba udovoljiti kako bi se živi školjkaši mogli plasirati na tržište. Limits of Property Rights Regarding Real Estate Built on the Seacoast of the Republic of Croatia

Članak govori o pravnom statusu morske obale u Republici Hrvatskoj; o tome kako je on na temelju pozitivnoga zakonodavstva uređen s pomoću instituta pomorskog dobra, uz kraći povijesni prikaz zaštite pomorskog dobra. Zatim se izlažu propisi kojima se uređuje gradnja, evidencija građevina, te posebni uvjeti gradnje na morskoj obali. Naposljetku, autorice razmatraju uređenje i evidenciju ovlaštenja na građevinama na pomorskom dobru.The article deals with the legal position of sea coast in Croatia. The authors mention how the status of the sea coast is regulated in the current laws and legislations as maritime domain, and the way it was protected by legislation in the past. Building legislation, registration of buildings, and special conditions of building on the sea coast is also being analyzed. In conclusion the questions of regulation and registration of rights on the buildings built on the maritime domain are discussed
