The evolution of facilitation of board game practices in France

International audienceIn the last 50 years, there has been a significant evolution of play and games practices in society. With the valuing of play for children's development, there has been a social and professional concern about the facilitation practices to encourage play and allow access to toys and games for all children. However, the new paradigm of board games as an adult leisure activity changed the representation of play and games and brought some confusion about why and how these practices make sense, in a useful way for the community

Original unsaturated sulfoniums : synthesis and evaluation of their inhibition properties of mannosidases

Le développement de nouveaux inhibiteurs de glycosidases est un sujet très étudié depuis plusieurs décennies pour des applications dans le domaine de la conception de médicaments. Parmi les inhibiteurs, les thiosucres et leurs dérivés sulfoniums intéressent les chercheurs depuis la découverte du salacinol. Mes travaux ont consisté à mettre au point une méthode d’accès simple et rapide à des thioglycals, et, par extension, à une série de sulfoniums insaturés. Ces molécules ont été synthétisées en vue d’inhiber des mannosidases, et plus particulièrement l’α-mannosidase de type II de l’appareil de Golgi (GMII), dont l’inhibition spécifique peut présenter une activité anti-cancer. A partir d’un aldofuranose simple, une synthèse comprenant deux étapes clés (oléfination de Peterson et substitution nucléophile intramoléculaire) a mené à la synthèse d’un dithioacétal de cétène cyclique. Sa fonctionnalisation et l’élimination du groupement thiométhyle conduisent alors à la synthèse de 5-thioglycals fonctionnalisés, qui ne sont que rarement décrits dans la littérature. La fonctionnalisation sur le soufre de ces 5-thioglycals mène à des composés originaux de type sulfoniums insaturés, très prometteurs dans l’inhibition de la GMII d’après des études in silico utilisant des outils quantiques menées en parallèle. L’évaluation biologique de ces composés envers l’α-mannosidase de Canavalia ensiformis a permis de montrer que les sulfoniums insaturés peuvent être des inhibiteurs de mannosidases et pourraient ainsi être utilisés pour créer de nouveaux principes actifs.The development of novel glycosidase inhibitors represents a challenging task since decades for therapeutic applications and drug design. Among the reported inhibitors, thiosugars and their derivative sulfoniums drew the searcher’s interest since the discovery of salacinol. My work consisted in the development of a simple and efficient method to synthesize thioglycals, and, by extension, a series of unsaturated sulfoniums. These molecules were synthesized in order to inhibit mannosidases, and more specifically the Golgi α-mannosidase II (GMII) since its inhibition could lead to anti-cancer activities. A cyclic ketene dithioacetal has been prepared from a simple aldofuranose through two key steps (Peterson olefination and intramolecular nucleophilic substitution). Its functionalization and the elimination of the thiomethyl moiety lead to functionalized 5-thioglycals, which are poorly described in literature. Functionalization of these molecules at the sulfur atom leads to original compounds: unsaturated sulfoniums. These molecules showed a promising activity towards GMII in in silico studies using quantum docking. The biological evaluation of these compounds towards Canavalia ensiformis α-mannosidase showed these unsaturated sulfoniums could be mannosidase inhibitors for the development of new bioactive molecules

Man, Play and games : an epistemological perspective

L’ambiguïté de la notion de jeu n'est plus à démontrer. Le concept recouvre en effet des phénomènes aussi divers que le développement de l'enfant, certains comportements animaux, les loteries et le PMU, les jeux vidéos et de société, les sports, le théâtre, etc. L'objet de notre propos est alors d'analyser ce qui est en cause quand il est question de jeu. Le traitement du problème du jeu s'est en effet souvent heurté à des « obstacles épistémologiques », selon le terme de Gaston Bachelard, qu'il nous appartient d'identifier et de surmonter, en recourant pour cela à une méthodologie rigoureuse que nous trouvons dans la théorie épistémologique de l'Anthropologie générale de Jean Gagnepain.Il s'agit alors de procéder à une déconstruction de l'objet qui mette en évidence les processus humains les plus déterminants dans la question du jeu. Il faut donc renoncer à parler de jeu de manière générique pour traiter plus spécifiquement de ce que nous appellerons « l'autocinèse du vivant » et le « jeu choral ». Cette dissociation entre ce qui tient à la nature même du vivant d'une part, et à une esthétique sociale rationnelle de l'autre, nous permet alors de proposer une modélisation de la question qui apporte un nouvel éclairage au traitement scientifique, technique, historique et critique du jeu, et renouvelle l'analyse des jeux eux-mêmes.The ambiguity of the question of Play is now well-known. The concept includes such various phenomena as child development, animal play, gambling, board and video games, sports, acting, etc. The object of the present work is to attempt a disambiguation of what is at work when Play is in cause, avoiding the « epistemological obstacles » that have constantlty muddled the question. This implies a strict methodology that we find in Jean Gagnepain epistemological theory of General Anthropology.We can then procede to a deconstruction of Play, revealing two majors process at work in the situations of play. « Autocinesis of the living » deals with the inherent spontaneity of the living beings while « choral play » referes to a rational form of social aesthetics. The identification of these two process allows us to establish an original pattern of Play and games, thus bringing new lights to the scientifical, technical, historical and critical approaches of the question, and a new way of analysing games
