    Science process skills structure and activity of inorganic compounds reviewing from knowledge of prospective chemistry teachers

    The purposes of this study is to make it easier for students to understand a material and improve students' process skills, thus making students more interactive. The learning process is carried out in groups, interactively, formulates problems, and evaluates gaps in their knowledge, studies and searches for materials related to problems and solutions to these problems. Then students can ask questions, and determine answers to questions that are excluded from everyday experience. Then they also have the ability to describe, explain and predict natural phenomena in the structure and reactivity of inorganic compounds. This study is a quantitative-research with pre-experimental One-Shot Case Study research with the research target of 7th semester students of chemistry education study program who are prospective chemistry teachers. This study uses a rubric test in the form of description questions. The results showed that the results of students' sciences process skills on the structure and reactivity of inorganic compounds had reached the percentages obtained by students on the criteria of observing, classifying, measuring, communicating, predicting, and drawing verbal conclusions, namely 87.50%, 88.75 %, 83.75%, 93.75%, 85%, and 91.25%. So that the average percentage of these criteria is 87.75% with a score of 3.51. With the results obtained, prospective chemistry teachers can improve the learning of science process skills and increase mastery of basic concepts of inorganic chemistry, especially on the material structure and reactivity of inorganic compounds

    Implementasi Pembuatan Bahan Ajar Pocket Book sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Pemahaman Konsep dan Kreativitas Mahasiswa

    This study aims to explain how creativity and conceptual understanding and their effects on chemistry education students through the assignment of a pocket book project. The method used was an experiment with a one shot case study design. This implementation was carried out for 20 even semester students of the 2018 Malikussaleh University Chemistry Education study program. The instruments used in this study were the student's creativity assessment sheet (conducted by the observer) and the conceptual understanding test questions (the form of an individual essay at the end of the lesson). The data obtained were then analyzed using a percentage formula and interpreted into a value interval. Based on the results obtained, the average student creativity was 81,33 categorized as good and understanding of the concept was 86. Creativity had an effect on students' conceptual understanding, because through the pocket books provided students could explore all their potential to complete the task. So that it can improve understanding of the concept of each student. For advanced researchers who want to do the same, to further expand the aspects assessed for the assessment of student creativity

    Pelatihan Pengembangan Soal Matematika dan Sains Berbasis Numerasi pada Guru untuk Menunjang Asesmen Nasional

    Kegiatan PKM yang dilaksanakan untuk guru SMP di kabupaten Aceh Utara ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru dalam menyusun dan mengembangkan soal matematika dan sains berbasis numerasi, sebagai persiapan guru dalam membimbing siswa menghadapi Asesmen Nasional (AN). AN mulai diterapkan sebagai sistem evaluasi di Indonesia pada tahun 2021 yang bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran. Kegiatan ini didasari oleh permasalahan mitra yaitu:(1) Belum adanya pelatihan khusus untuk penyusunan dan pengembangan soal matematika dan sains berbasis numerasi. (2) Minimnya pemahaman guru dan keterbatasan ide dalam penyusunan soal berbasis numerasi. (3) Guru belum menggunakan soal matematika dan sains berbasis numerasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, pertama analisis pemahaman awal guru terkait tujuan dan instrumen yang digunakan dalam AN. Tahap kedua pemaparan materi mengenai strategi penyusunan soal matematika dan sains berbasis numerasi serta penerapan di sekolah. Selanjutnya, tahap ketiga penyusunan soal matematika dan sains berbasis numerasi. Soal-soal yang sudah disusun oleh peserta, kemudian dievaluasi dan dianalisis berdasarkan kriteria soal numerasi. Di akhir kegiatan pelatihan, peserta mengisi angket respon untuk mengetahui efektifitas dan keberhasilan kegiatan pelatihan ini. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan ini sangat bermanfaat, dapat meningkatkan motivasi, sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru, pemateri sangat responsive terhadap pertanyaan peserta, dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan peserta dalam menyusun dan mengembangkan soal berbasis numerasi, serta perserta bersedia untuk ikut berpartisipasi jika kegiatan ini diselenggarakan kembali

    Hubungan Self-efficacy dan Kemampuan Literasi Numerasi Siswa: Ditinjau Berdasarkan Gender

    Students with high self-efficacy mean having high motivation, awareness and self-regulation so that it is expected to have a positive effect on learning outcomes including numeracy skills, self-efficacy can be influenced by internal factors such as gender. This study aims to analyze differences in self-efficacy students' and numeracy literacy skills based on gender, the relationship between self-efficacy and students' numeracy literacy skills based on gender and the effect of self-efficacy on students' numeracy literacy skills. The method used is descriptive method. The sample of this study was 88 students consisting of 44 male students and 44 female students of VIII SMP from four schools in North Aceh and Lhokseumawe who were participants in the 2021 national assessment. Data collection used questionnaire instrument self-efficacy containing 45 statement items and 36 numeracy literacy questions that are already valid and in accordance with the AN question grid. The results showed that the significance value was 0.288 > 0.005 indicating that there was no significant difference between the self-efficacy of male and female students, (2) the significance value was 0.652 > 0.05, meaning that there was no significant difference between literacy abilities numeracy men and female (3) self-efficacy and literacy numeracy students have a relationship with the degree of correlation is high and positively related (4) the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.489 explains that the influence of self-efficacy with literacy numeracy student is 48.9%

    Penguatan Konsep Stoikiometri sebagai Dasar Pemecahan Masalah Soal Perhitungan Kimia : Persiapan Ksn-k Kimia 2022 di Sman Modal Bangsa Arun Kota Lhokseumawe Aceh

    Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menguatkan konsep stoikiometri sebagai dasar pemecahan masalah pada soal perhitungan kimia untuk persiapan Kompetisi Sains Nasional (KSN) dengan harapan siswa-siswa SMAN Modal Bangsa Arun dapat menjadi perwakilan Kota Lhokseumawe ke tingkat Provinsi maupun perwakilan Provinsi Aceh ke tingkat Nasional. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pada 26 Februari – 19 Maret 2022 dengan peserta adalah 5 siswa perwakilan sekolah yang akan mengikuti ajang KSN-K bidang kimia. Langkah-langkah kegiatan yang dilakukan antara lain (1) tes pengetahuan dasar terkait stoikiometri (2) persiapan analisis silabus KSN serta soal-soal KSN-K materi stoikiometri 4 tahun terakhir (3) melakukan penguatan terhadap materi stoikiometri yang terdiri dari: persamaan reaksi kimia, perhitungan stoikiometri (konsep mol), perhitungan massa dan volume (termasuk densitas), rumus empiris dan rumus molekul, bilangan Avogadro dan perhitungan konsentrasi (4) pembinaan penyelesaian soal KSN-K untuk materi stoikiometri (5) evaluasi penilaian kemajuan siswa dalam hal pemahaman materi stoikiometri pada level soal KSN-K. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi stoikiometri. Siswa mampu menyelesaikan soal-soal topik stoikiometri dengan benar dan sistematis. Hasil posttest siswa termasuk kriteria sangat tinggi dengan persentase rata-rata 86% jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan tes awal dengan rata-rata 38% dengan kriteria sangat rendah. Siswa merasa percaya diri untuk mengikuti KSN-K bidang kimia 2022
