Hybrid wireless mesh network (WMN) consists of twotypes of nodes: Mesh Routers which are relatively static andenergy-rich devices, and Mesh Clients which are relativelydynamic and power constrained devices. In this paper we presenta new model for WMN end-to-end security which divideauthentication process into two phases: Mesh Access Point phasewhich based on asymmetric cryptography and Mesh Client phasewhich based on a server-side certificate such as EAP-TTLSand PEAP

The current study aims to know to what level teachers of students with intellectual disabilities have educational efficiency in the governorate of Kerak. To achieve the targets of this study, both researchers used the descriptive curricula, and the study tool was prepared to reveal how much teachers of students with intellectual disabilities have educational efficiency; whereas the tool consisted of (four) main dimensions that include (57) paragraph, both researchers developed it and extracted the necessary evidences of validity and stability, where they are distributed on (82) teachers of students with intellectual disabilities; where expected value, standard deviation and analysis of variance were used. Results of the study indicated that the level of educational efficiency of teachers for all dimensions of the study, was above average, and it was found that there are differences in the experience and qualification variables, but sex and sector did not have any statistical indicating effect

Acute myocardial infarction and pulmonary embolism in a young man with pernicious anemia-induced severe hyperhomocysteinemia

A 27 year-old man who presented to the hospital with progressive lower extremity weakness, developed an acute ST elevation myocardial infarction on his second hospital day. Primary angioplasty to the left anterior descending coronary artery was performed. Due to persistent dyspnea, the patient underwent a diagnostic chest computed tomography which confirmed multiple small pulmonary emboli. Laboratory analysis revealed a megaloblastic anemia with a reduced vitamin B12 level and positive titers for antibodies against intrinsic factor, establishing a diagnosis of pernicious anemia. Screening for hypercoaguable markers documented an isolated severely elevated homocysteine levels (105 μmol/l). No other significant risk factors for coronary artery disease including a family history of premature atherosclerosis were identified. This case illustrates the importance of testing for hyperhomocysteinemia as part of a workup for atherothrombotic disease, especially in patients without other significant risk factors. The severity of hyperhomocysteinemia found in our patient is unusual for patients with vitamin B12 malabsorption and raises the question of whether the widely practiced folic acid fortification in the United States may mask or even worsen vitamin B12 deficiency over time, leading to more severe cases of vitamin B12 deficiency and hyperhomocysteinemia than seen in the past

The development of high field magnets utilizing Bi-2212 wind & react insert coils

    No full text
Wind & react Bi-2212 inserts have been manufactured and tested inside a wide-bore NbTi-Nb3Sn magnet providing a background field up to 20T at 4.2K. A pair of six-layer concentric coils both achieved critical currents of 350 A (JE = 200 A/mm2) in a 20T background field. A thicker 14-layer insert made from 119m of round wire had a critical quench current IQ of 287A (JE = 162 A/mm2) at the same field and contributed to a combined central field of 22.5 T. This is a record for a fully superconducting magnet at 4.2 K. The 14-layer coil, equipped with an external protective shunt, was used for an extensive series of quench measurements and endured >150 quenches without damage. Minimum quench energies were found to be in the range of 200-500mJ in background fields of 15-20T when the coil carried 70-95% of its critical quench current

The Predictive Ability of the Dimensions of the Future Time Perspective in Self-regulated Learning among Yarmouk University Students

The study aimed to identify the most common dimensions of the future time perspective and to know the level of self-regulated learning among Yarmouk University students. It also aimed to investigate the predictive ability of the dimensions of the future time perspective in self-regulated learning. The study sample consisted of 704 students, 335 males and 369 females, who were selected based on a convenience sample method from among the students enrolled in the compulsory university requirements during the summer semester of the academic year 2017/2018. To achieve the objectives of the study, the Zimbardo and Boyed’s (1999) measure was used to measure the future time perspective, and Purdie’s scale for measuring self-regulated learning. The results showed that the future dimension was the most common among the sample of the study, and that the level of self-regulated learning was moderate, whether at the total score or the various dimensions. The study concluded that the dimensions of the future time perspective explained 18.8% of the variance in self-regulated learning
