    Analyzing the Effect of Consumers Emotions on Consumer Behavior at Matahari Department Store Manado

    Companies have to face all of challenge that happen, utilize all of opportunity and understand all of needs and wants of consumers to get a win in business competition. Development of Department Store in Indonesia showed significant figures in line with the increasing of needs toward fulfillment of a fairly large of consumers needs. Emotions are important factor in studying consumption, consumer decision making and consumer behavior. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of positive and negative emotions simultaneously and partially. The research method is associative with the analysis technic is multiple linear regression. Consumers who buy and visit at Matahari Department Store Manado are the population of this study and researcher collected 100 respondents as a sample. The result showed both positive and negative emotion effect very significantly on consumer behavior simultaneously and partially. Researcher recommended for management of Matahari Department Store Manado to pay attention deeply on consumers emotions. Keywords: emotions, retail management, consumer behavior

    Disiplin Kerja, Motivasi dan Kompensasi Pengaruhnya terhadap Kinerja Karyawan pada PT. Bank Sulut Cabang Calaca

    Perusahaan didirikan untuk mencapai tujuan utama yang telah disepakati, maka Perusahaan perlu mempunyai karyawan yang kinerjanya baik. Untuk menciptakan kinerja yang baik, perlu adanya Disiplin Kerja, motivasi kerja dan pemberian kompensasi yang tepat. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh disiplin kerja, motivasi dan kompensasi terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT. Bank Sulut Cabang Calaca. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survey dan dilaksanakan pada 59 karyawan. Hasil pengembalian kuesioner dari Perusahaan berjumlah 47 kuesioner, jadi data yang diolah berjumlah 47 kuesioner. Teknik sampling yang dipakai metode Sampling Jenuh, dan teknik pengujian data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji validitas, uji reliabilitas dengan Alpha Cronbach. Uji asumsi klasik, analisis regresi linear berganda, uji t, uji F serta uji koefisien korelasi dan determinasi. Data yang terkumpul diuji validitas dan diuji reliabilitas dengan koefisien alpha (Alpha Cronbach), dimana hasilnya seluruh data dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Hasil analisis menunjukkan disiplin kerja, motivasi, dan kompensasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Manajemen Perusahaan sebaiknya lebih meningkatkan motivasi dan kompensasi, sehingga akan tercipta disiplin kerja yang baik untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan.     Reaksi Pasar Modal Terhadap Pemilihan Umum Presiden Tanggal 9 Juli 2014 Di Indonesia

    Indonesia telah melaksanakan Pemilihan Umum Presiden, peristiwa ini tentu saja mengakibatkan fluktuasi harga-harga saham mengingat peristiwa politik ini merupakan momen yang penting di suatu negara. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara abnormal return dan trading volume activity periode sebelum dan sesudah Pemilihan Umum Presiden pada tanggal 9 juli 2014 pada Perusahaan Konstruksi, Infrastruktur dan Utilitas yang terdaftar di BEI. Pengambilan sampel digunakan teknik sampling jenuh, dengan jumlah sampel 21 Perusahaan dari Perusahaan Konstruksi, Infrastruktur dan Utilitas yang Go Public di BEI. Alat analisis yang digunakan adalah uji beda dua rata-rata (paired sample T-test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara abnormal return sebelum dan sesudah Pemilu Presiden. sedangkan pada trading volume activity terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara trading volume activity sebelum dan sesudah Pemilu Presiden. Sebaiknya pemerintah tetap menjaga stabilitas politik dan ekonomi, sehingga faktor psikologis dari para investor tetap terjaga dan tidak menimbulkan reaksi berlebihan pada pasar modal.     A User Loyalty Analysis of Mobile Instant Messaging (Mim) Applications in Manado

    The growth of Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) applications in Indonesia has become a prevalent phenomenon as it gradually has replaced the existence of traditional messaging tools such as SMS. With the emergence of these mobile instant messaging applications, consumers are inundated with choices as to which application should they install on their phones. Therefore, User loyalty is crucial to the survival of MIM application providers. Population of this research is users of MIM applications and/or people who are aware of the development of MIM applications in Manado, under the age of 30. This research employs exploratory method on qualitative research and interview as the tool to collect all data and information with informant as many as 6 informants. The internal factors i.e.: speed of loading, public image, loyalty program, intriguing features, user-friendly, price-friendly, post-installation care, and qualified product. The external factors i.e.: existence of a community, mobile internet network quality, ubiquitous connectedness, age group, and peer influence. This research suggests MIM providers to improve user loyalty by putting the same amount of effort into the advancement of both internal and external factors, as the MIM industry is highly dependent on the external factors as the findings suggested.     Tetraspanin CO-029 Inhibits Colorectal Cancer Cell Movement by Deregulating Cell-Matrix and Cell-Cell Adhesions

    Alterations in tetraspanin CO-029 expression are associated with the progression and metastasis of cancers in the digestive system. However, how CO-029 promotes cancer metastasis is still poorly understood. To determine the mechanism, we silenced CO-029 expression in HT29 colon cancer cells and found that the CO-029 knockdown significantly reduced cell migratory ability. The diminished cell migration was accompanied by the upregulation of both integrin-dependent cell-matrix adhesion on laminin and calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion. The cell surface levels of laminin-binding integrin Ξ±3Ξ²1 and fibronectin-integrin Ξ±5Ξ²1 were increased while the level of CD44 was decreased upon CO-029 silencing. These changes contribute to the altered cell-matrix adhesion. The deregulated cell-cell adhesion results, at least partially, from increased activity of cadherins and reduced level of MelCAM. In conclusion, CO-029 functions as a regulator of both cell-matrix and cell-cell adhesion. During colon cancer progression, CO-029 promotes cancer cell movement by deregulating cell adhesions

    Employee could be a competitive advantage of a company if company manages its employees well. The success of a company could be seen from how a company manages their employees and engages their employees. Most of big companies put their employees in top priority in order to keep their top performance. These big companies manage their employees and try to engage their employees so that their employees could generate high performance. In this study, employee engagement is the factor to examine the company performance. The aim is to examine the influence of employee engagement to employee performance and company performance. Theories that are supporting this research are human resource management and theories of employee engagement from other researchers. This research is a literature review research using qualitative method. From several of researches about employee engagement, this research finds that employee engagement has positive relationship with company performance. The environment of the company, such as the physical space and climate of the environment support the employee engagement process.
