Knowledge sharing and transfer through Tableeghi Jamaat among Muslims in India
Having had a humble beginning with the efforts
in a small region known as Mewat in India,
Tableeghi Jamaat had now make the presence
felt in almost all the continents. In the absence of any publicity material this is indeed a remarkable achievement. The present paper attempts to describe the efforts of Jamaat in the most populous state of India namely Uttar Pradesh. It is unfortunate that not enough material has been produced related to Tableeghi Jamaat. Furthermore, whatever has been written, most of it, is not free from malice and prejudice. As a matter of fact, this kind of study needs participation on the part of any author to present a balance picture. The present author has spent a considerable amount of time to get familiarity with the ideology of Jamaat. Besides outings, the author also participates in the local activities concerning the daily and weekly programmes. The present paper is thus an outcome of this indoor and outdoor participation. It states that how the Jamaat played significant role in the knowledge sharing and transfer and to what extent the Muslim community had been benefitted in India
Predictors of Sustainability Research Internalization in HEIs as a Service Ecosystem: An Empirical Study in Taiwan
This study aims to investigate the influence of human agency and contextual factors on sustainability research internalization (SRI) among faculty in higher education institutions (HEIs), in which HEIs are treated as a service ecosystem. Data from 410 faculty in Taiwan’s HEIs, randomly selected from the authors of SDGs-related papers in international journals ranked in SCOPUS database, were analyzed. Results reveal that human agency and university sustainability practices positively influence SRI. A mediation model based on Self-Determination Theory indicated that human agency, university sustainability practices, participative goal setting, and perceived government control on SRI are mediated by the faculty\u27s autonomous motivation. However, participative goal setting shows a negative effect on SRI when mediated through a sequence from controlled to autonomous motivation, as externally motivated faculty find sustainability research cumbersome unless supported by rewards. This study is a progress towards a theory of SRI for faculty in HEIs and offers insights for practitioners in realigning research service systems for sustainable development
Usage of electronic Information resources among the lawyers of Delhi High Court Bar Association
Abstract
Purpose - The purpose of this study was to know the use of electronic information resources among the lawyers of Delhi High Court Bar Association.
Design/methodology - A survey, based on a questionnaire was conducted by the researcher and received data was used for the study.
Findings - It is found that the most frequently used among the e-resource is journals with a percentage of 84.69. To keep updating knowledge is the main purpose of using the electronic information resources i.e.38.27%. The users of the library give preferences to e-resources for keeping them up-to-date with subject knowledge and to keep abreast with current information for consulting documents. The main purpose of using e-resources is to find relevant information in the area of specialization. The main problems faced by the library users in accessing the e-resources is lack of knowledge.
Research limitations/implications - Only a Bar Association of Delhi High Court was surveyed; thus, the outcomes can\u27t be summed up for the whole Bar Association of the country.
Practical implications - The findings will help the library administration to perceive what the prime areas of concern are so far as the search instruction and access to electronic information resources are concerned
PLATE FIN AND TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER
The main objective of the present work is to investigation of optimum design of plate fin tube heat exchanger using Computational fluid dynamic approach and maximizing thermal performance. There are total five designs of plate fin and tube heat exchanger are used in present work and CFD analysis have been performed in it to get maximum heat transfer. It has been observed from CFD analysis that the maximum heat transfer can be achieved from plate fin and tube heat exchanger with elliptical tube arrangement inclined at 30o with 23.22% more heat transfer capacity as compared to circular tube plate pin heat exchanger. So that it is recommended that if the plate fins and tube heat exchanger with inclined elliptical tube used in place of circular tube arrangement, batter heat transfer can be achieved
Building Public Library Collection in India: A Study of Book and Non-book Material
India is the second most populous country in the world. It has 29 states and 7 union territories. The state of West Bengal with nineteen districts has a well-established public library system. The present study covers the district of Murshidabad which has 160 public libraries, in total. Significantly, three categories of public libraries namely rural library, town/sub-division library and district library exists in whole district. Covering 21 public libraries with representation of all categories of libraries, the present work aims to study the collection development of material. Data for the present study has been collected through well-structured questionnaire. Study also highlights the various aspects which contributed in building collection in studied libraries. Precisely, these are donation from Member of Legislative Assembly, donation from Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation, complimentary copies from the authors, etc. Findings suggest that no-uniform growth has been witnessed in surveyed libraries
Curriculum Framework of Library and Information Science Education In the United States, the United Kingdom and India
In the present study researchers have made an analysis of the courses offered by the Schools of Library and Information Science in the United States. An effort is also made to compare the curriculum of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Syracuse University and University of Washington is compared with that of American Library Association’s (ALA) Core Competencies. Most of the core courses recommended by ALA were covered in the courses of the curriculum followed at the library and information schools. Furthermore, the comparison of the core curriculum is made with the curriculum recommended by the American Library Association in United States, Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) in United Kingdom and University Grants Commission (UGC), India
Cyclic Kite Configuration with Variable Mass of the Fifth Body in R5BP
This paper presents a numerical investigation on some characteristics and parameters related to the motion of an infinitesimal body with variable mass in five-body problem. The other four bodies are considered as primaries. The whole system forms a cyclic kite configuration and moves on a circle, the center of which is taken as the origin. We assume that the motion of the fifth infinitesimal body is affected by the other components of the system but it has no effect on their behavior. We started by setting the equations of motion of the fifth body by using Jeans’ law and Meshcherskii’s space-time transformations. Further, we determined numerically, using Mathematica software, the positions of Lagrangian points and basins of attraction in various planes. Finally, we investigated the linear stability of the Lagrangian points and noticed that all the Lagrangian points are unstable

Dynamic Response of Bowstring-arch Highway Bridge Subjected to Above and Below Deck Close-range Large Explosion
Explosion incidents that are unforeseen can lead to the occurrence of extreme loads, resulting in the generation of remarkably high stress levels within the materials comprising various structures. This can cause significant damage to crucial elements and potentially trigger a disproportionate collapse or even initiate a progressive collapse. Bridge structures, which serve as vital lifelines for cosmopolitan areas and strategic bordering environments, hold immense economic and political significance. The failure of these structures can have severe consequences with far-reaching implications. The use of a steel bowstring-arch bridge is a practical choice for congested crossings and remote border areas where spans are short. However, the current design codes for bridges do not take into account high-strain loadings such as blasts or impacts, nor do they provide recommendations for preventing these occurrences during construction or throughout the lifespan of the bridge. Explosive incidents cause greater damage in terms of material damage and loss compared to earthquakes. There has been limited investigation into how steel-concrete bridges respond to explosions in the past. This study examines the numerical analysis of a bowstring-arch highway girder bridge made of steel and concrete. The bridge is supported at both ends and is subjected to close-range concentric explosions above and below the deck at the center and end of the bridge. To model the bridge and predict its behavior, the authors utilized the Abaqus software suite. For the analysis, a significant quantity of TNT weighing 1.63-tonne has been positioned at the midpoint of the bridge and is defined using the Eulerian-Lagrangian scheme. The transmission of the explosive shockwaves within the bridge material under the given loading circumstances is illustrated and elucidated. The behavior of the bridge is examined in relation to plastic deformations, primary stress, displacement, size of the crater, and overall energy of damage
