The purpose of this study was to analyse the anger expression styles, the continuous anger and personality types of players who play football in the professional league. The research group consisted of 133 soccer players who are playing in sports teams in the Turkish Super League: Ankara Sport Club, Gençlerbirliði Sports Club and Hacettepe Sports Club in the first league, Turk Telekom sports in the second league, and Keçiören Gücü Sports and Ankarademir Sports playing in the third league in the 2008–2009 football season. The Eysenck personality inventory was modified to Turkish by Bayar in 19831, having been developed by Eysenck and Eysenck in 19752 and the continuous anger – anger style scale (SOTO) was modified to Turkish by Özer in 19943. The state trait anger scale (STAS) was originally developed by Spielberger in 19834. All these were used on soccer players participating in the study to determine the continuous anger and anger styles in this study. In the interpretation of data, a meaningfulness of p<0.05, was applied by using regression analysis, the Kruskal Wallis Test, the one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) test and the Tukey test to find the differences among the groups. The SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) programme was used to find the accounted values and to evaluate the data. According to the results of this study, regarding the education level variable, while there was a meaningful difference between the continuous anger sub-dimension and anger control sub-dimension than continuous anger – anger expression styles, no significant difference was found among personality type sub-dimensions (psychoticism, extrovert, neurotic, false). In addition, a significant relationship was found between psychoticism, extrovert, neurotic, and lie sub-dimensions and the personality type sub-dimensions of professional players’ constant anger-anger expression styles

Strength is among the most frequently researched subjects in the field of sports sciences. The main reason for strength’s being researched this much in sports is thought to be its being an important motoric characteristic that affects sportive performance  most of the researches focusing on strength have focused on relationship between strength and sportive performance, relationship between strength and the other motoric characteristics, and the effects of different exercising models on strength development.   Among those strength exercises, plyometric trainings have become the mostly preferred exercising models. Plyometric trainings are strength development methods that include jumping drills and pliometric exercises for the upper extremity. While plyometric exercises are the methods used by elite athletes frequently, they have been used on adolescence athletes as well in recent years. However, although there are some reservations on the implementation of plyometric exercises on adolescence athletes, it is also stated that provided that these exercises are done relevant to their aims and in a systematic way, they contribute to a healthy strength development.     This study focused on the content and characteristics of plyometric exercises different from adults, their effect on strength development.

Atrial fibrillation designation with micro-Raman spectroscopy and scanning acoustic microscope

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is diagnosed with the electrocardiogram, which is the gold standard in clinics. However, sufficient arrhythmia monitoring takes a long time, and many of the tests are made in only a few seconds, which can lead arrhythmia to be missed. Here, we propose a combined method to detect the effects of AF on atrial tissue. We characterize tissues obtained from patients with or without AF by scanning acoustic microscopy (SAM) and by Raman spectroscopy (RS) to construct a mechano-chemical profile. We classify the Raman spectral measurements of the tissue samples with an unsupervised clustering method, k-means and compare their chemical properties. Besides, we utilize scanning acoustic microscopy to compare and determine differences in acoustic impedance maps of the groups. We compared the clinical outcomes with our findings using a neural network classification for Raman measurements and ANOVA for SAM measurements. Consequently, we show that the stiffness profiles of the tissues, corresponding to the patients with chronic AF, without AF or who experienced postoperative AF, are in agreement with the lipid-collagen profiles obtained by the Raman spectral characterization.Turkiye Cumhuriyeti Kalkinma Bakanlig

Aneurysms of the sinuses of Valsalva are defined as dilatation of the aortic root region be-tween the aortic annulus and the sinotubularjunction. Isolated aneurysms of the sinus of Valsalva are rare cardiovascular pathologies. Sinus valsalva aneurysm may be of congenital or acquired origin. It can occur congenital, secondary to connective tissue disorders or in associa-tion with congenital cardiac defects. Acquired aneurysms may occur secondary to infections and trauma. Small-sized unruptured aneurysms may be followed without surgical treatment; however, surgery may be required in all other patients and surgery is the gold standard treat-ment method. In this article, a 12 -year-old patient with Marfan syndrome who had aortic regurgita-tion and giant aneurysm of the non-coronary sinus of valsalva and was treated appropriately will be presented

WOS:000300336900025This study investigates the communication skills of the footballers who play in Professional teams (Konyaspor, Kayseri Erciyesspor and Bursaspor) in Turkish super league in 2010-2011. The participants included 76 footballers from Professional teams (Bursaspor, Konyaspor and Kayseri Erciyesspor) in Turkey. Firstly present data, related to the aim of the research, is given systematically by scanning literature. Thus the theoretical frame is formed about the subject. At the end of the study, it is understood that footballers' communication with coaches, managers and between each other is very important to door to the success and achieve a common goal. At the end of the study, the study showed that if there was a good communication among footballers or the others (coaches, managers and footballers), it means that there would be success in the performance. On the other hand, the results indicated that if there was a lack of communication between footballers and coaches or the others in the club, footballers in the team would play a losing game. Hence, the communication among them influences the teams' success and enhances the team's performance. Performance athletes and high performance athletes realize that good communication is important for high level sports
