    Lidar detection of metallic species at the mesopause level

    The measurement alkali species present in the atomic form at the mesopause level has been performed by lidar for more than ten years. Atomic and ionic calcium density profiles are obtained for 3 years by the same technique in the visible range, at 423 nm for atomic calcium, and 393 nm for ionic calcium Ca(+). The experimental set-up and the preliminary results have been presented elsewhere. The 423 nm wavelength is directly obtained by the emission of a dye laser pumped by the third harmonic of a Nd-YAG laser. For the generation of the 393 nm wavelength, frequency mixing was used: the emission at 624 nm of a dye laser pumped by the 2nd harmonic of a Nd-Yag laser is mixed with the fundamental infrared emission (remaining after frequency doubling), in a non-linear KDP crystal, which gives the 393 nm emission. The behavior of the two atomic species, calcium and sodium, which are in the same altitude range are compared. For 45% of the observations, no ionic calcium was detected: the ionic calcium abundance was thus below the detection threshold. Contrasting with the density profiles of the atomic species, sodium and calcium, the ionic calcium profile present important variations on small time scales.     Abstrak - Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi adanya pengaruh dari faktor internal yaitu Inflasi dan pengaruh faktor eksternal yaitu Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR) dan Return on Assets Ratio tahun sebelumnya (ROAt-1) terhadap Return on Assets (ROA). Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Perusahaan Asuransi Umum di Indonesia waktu 6 tahun (2010-2016). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Dengan menerapkan metode regresi data panel dinamis dan menggunakan data model Distributed Lag dengan model Common Effect. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel Inflasi berpengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan, variabel Debt to Assets (DAR) berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan dan variabel Return on Assets tahun sebelumnya (ROAt-1) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Return on Assets (ROA) Asuransi Umum Persero. By applying the dynamic panel data regression method and using the Distributed Lag model data with the Common Effect model.     The development of communication technology, especially mobile phones makes the competition of cellular service providers (mobile operators) becomes increasingly competitive. This condition makes the service users have many options and sometimes they decide to switch their brand to the other operators because of some reasons. XL Axiata, is one of the most popular cellular operators in Indonesia that had experienced the impact of brand switching. XL Axiata lost the number of its users from 59.6 million users in 2014 to 42.1 million users in 2015. The phenomenon of brand switching then shifts XL Axiata’s position to the fourth place. This achievement is worse than the previous one when they reached to the second position and become one of the most dominant market controls. This study uses four variables; quality of service, price, satisfaction, and brand switching. Testing the hypothesis in this study is supported by the data in which there were 107 respondents using analytical techniques Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through AMOS 22. This study produces 5 processes to reduce brand switching performed by XL Axiata users. However, the most influential process to the reduce brand switching is to improve the quality of service in order to increase the satisfaction of the customers. Increasing satisfaction will further reduce the phenomenon of brand switching by XL Axiata users

    The study aims to find out and analyze simultaneous and partial influences of work environment, work motivation, and work satisfaction on the perfomance of middle schools teachers in West Dolo District of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. The study involves 43 respondents who selected by census method. Data analysis is quantitative approach running with Statistical Product and Service Solution 18.0 (SPSS0 with multiple linear regressions analysis. The result of the study concludes that: 1) work environment, work motivation, and work satisfaction simultaneously have significant influence on the perfomance of middle schools teachers in West Dolo, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi; 2) work environment has significant influence on middle schools teachers’ perfomance in West Dolo, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi; 3) work motivation has significant influence on middle schools teachers’ perfomance in West Dolo, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi; 4) work satisfaction has significant influence on middle schools teachers’ perfomance in West Dolo, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi

    Pulsed mononode dye laser developed for a geophysical application

    Following the extension of the lidar technique in the study of the atmosphere, the necessity of having a high power pulsed laser beam with a narrowed bandwidth and the possibility of selecting a particular wavelength within a certain spectral region arises. With the collaboration of others, a laser cavity using the multiwave Fizeau wedge (MWFW) was developed. Using the classical method of beam amplification with the aid of different stages, a new pulsed dye laser device was designed. The originality resides in the use of reflecting properties of the MFWF. Locally a plan wave coming with a particular angular incidence is reflected with a greater than unity coefficient; this is the consequence of the wedge angle which doubles the participation of every ray in the interferometric process. This dye laser operation and advantages are discussed. The feasibility of different geophysical applications envisageable with this laser is discussed

    Analysis of a 7 year tropospheric ozone vertical distribution at the Observatoire de Haute Provence

    A seven year (1984-90) climatology of tropospheric vertical ozone soundings, performed by electrochemical sondes at the OHP (44 deg N, 6 deg E, 700 m ASL) in Southern France, is presented. Its seasonal variation shows a broad spring/summer maximum in the troposphere. The contribution of photochemical ozone production and transport from the stratosphere to this seasonal variation are studied by a correlative analysis of ozone concentrations and meteorological variables, with emphasis on potential vorticity. This analysis shows the impact of dynamical and photochemical processes on the spatial and temporal ozone variability. In particular, a positive correlation (r = 04.0, significance greater than 99.9 percent) of ozone with potential vorticity is observed in the middle troposphere, reflecting the impact of stratosphere-troposphere exchange on the vertical ozone distribution
