    Analysis of Strategic Interactions in the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Through the Prism of the Game Theory

    Introduction. The paper attempts to analyze possible and probable strategic moves of the primary and secondary actors in the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Methods. To analyze this conflict the author uses the mathematical theory of games and some mathematical models and methods. The main methods and models include the following: Nash equilibrium, sequential game, Zermelos theorem, Zermelo-Kuno algorithm, and games with commitments. As the publication is an analytical and computational work, it mainly includes literature related to methodology and theory. Analysis. The publication not only contains the analysis of the strategic interactions between Armenia and Azerbaijan as primary actors, but also includes Russia as a secondary participant. Results. As a result, the author has drawn several conclusions. Firstly, the strategic interactions between two actors differ from strategic interactions among three actors in terms of possible payments and preferences. Secondly, in the strategic interactions between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the most likely interaction profile will be “A2 , B1 -C2 ” (not recognizing the independence of Nagorno Karabakh and not declaring war on Armenia) with a payment of “0:0”. The third conclusion is on the qualitative difference between the sequential game and the game with commitments among Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia. In the second case, the Nash equilibrium consists of not recognizing the separatist regime by Armenia, not supporting Russia’s desire for Armenia to recognize and not declaring war on Armenia: SPNE = {E2, R4, A8}. However, unlike the first option, the equilibrium obtained in the game with commitments takes on a more stable structure in relation to different political processes

    [ES] La llegada de las criptomonedas no solo ha supuesto una nueva oportunidad de inversión para los más interesados, sino que la aparición del proyecto Bitcoin en 2008 trajo consigo una nueva tecnología de redes de seguridad prácticamente impenetrable: el Blockchain. En este TFG, se explica con detalle esta innovación tecnológica, desde su origen hasta su situación actual, haciendo hincapié en su funcionamiento y en aquellas particularidades que lo definen como una herramienta de gran potencial y de múltiples utilidades en los distintos sectores de la economía. A continuación, se realiza un barrido de la situación económica global actual y cómo la irrupción de esta tecnología puede influir de diversas formas. Posteriormente, se estudia en profundidad la incidencia del Blockchain y su aplicación en el ámbito financiero, cómo este sistema tecnológico puede solucionar los distintos problemas que atraviesa el sector y las aplicaciones a futuro que se pueden llevar a cabo. La revisión bibliográfica realizada indica un aumento, en los últimos años, del conocimiento de la tecnología Blockchain, así como una mayor implementación en las empresas de todo tipo e incluso gobiernos. También se describen los motivos que han llevado a todas estas organizaciones a interesarse por esta tecnología, y las diferentes iniciativas y proyectos que se están llevando a cabo en esa línea de desarrollo del Blockchain. Todo esto se traduce en un impacto de miles de millones de euros en el mercado económico a nivel mundial, unas cifras que pueden ser todavía mayores en los años venideros gracias al enorme potencial de desarrollo de esta tecnología y al amplio cartel de oportunidades de negocio que supone la implementación de Blockchain en los distintos sectores. Las conclusiones extraídas del estudio son que el Blockchain tendrá un impacto tremendamente positivo en el panorama económico global, no solo a nivel de producción, PIB o mercado, sino en la mejora y optimización de procesos y mecanismos que suponen ahorro de tiempo y costes, lo que acaba traduciéndose en mejoras del rendimiento en los múltiples sectores implicados, ya sean las finanzas que es donde se centra el estudio, pero también en el sector sanitario, de consumo, automoción, político, logístico, energético o alimenticio, entre otros.[EN] The arrival of cryptocurrencies has not only been a new investment opportunity for those most interested, but the appearance of the Bitcoin project in 2008 brought with it a new technology of security networks virtually impenetrable: the Blockchain. In this TFG, this technological innovation is explained in detail, from its origin to its current situation, emphasizing its operation and those particularities that define it as a tool with great potential and multiple profits in the different sectors of the economy. Next, a sweep of the current global economic situation is made and how the irruption of this technology can influence in various ways. Later, the impact of the blockchain and its application in the financial field is studied in depth, how this technological system can solve the different problems that the sector is going through and the future applications that can be carried out. The bibliographic review carried out indicates an increase, in recent years, of the knowledge of the Blockchain technology, as well as a greater implementation in companies of all types and even governments. It also describes the reasons that have led all these organizations to be interested in this technology, and the different initiatives and projects that are being carried out in that line of development of the Blockchain. All this translates into an impact of billions of euros on the global economic market, figures that may be even higher in the coming years thanks to the enormous potential of development of this technology and the wide cartel of business opportunities that involves the implementation of Blockchain in different sectors. The conclusions drawn from the study are that Blockchain will have a tremendously positive impact on the global economic landscape, not only at the level of production, GDP or market, but in the improvement and optimization of processes and mechanisms that involve savings in time and costs, which ends up translating into performance improvements in the multiple sectors involved, be they the finance that is where the study is focused, but also in the healthcare, consumer, automotive, political, logistics, energy or food sector, among others.Medzhidov Dzhanakaeva, R.
