    Job Satisfaction of Bank Employees in Bangladesh

    This study attempts to evaluate job satisfaction of bank employees in Bangladesh.  It focuses on the relative importance of job satisfaction factors and their impacts on the overall job satisfaction of employees. In this study the targeted population is employees of Bank. The Banks include private and public Bank. The data was collected and administered by means of a structured questionnaire. The study showed that organizational factors such as work conditions, pay, fairness, and promotion significantly influenced employee job satisfaction in Bank. However, individual factors such as age and gender did not significantly influence employee job satisfaction in Banks. The overall job satisfaction of the bank officers is at the positive level appeal to their customers. In such situation, job satisfaction of bank officers becomes an important issue that has to be taken care of in order to achieve ultimate goals of the banking sector in Bangladesh.     Problems Faced by Garments Workers: A Study on Matrix Sweaters Limited

    This paper examines the problems confronted by Matrix Sweaters Limited workers. The study also attempts to identify the possible reasons for dispute among the workers. Results from the study have revealed that wage discrimination is the main problem for Garments workers and low salary for garments worker is the vital reason for industrial dispute. The analysis have also exposed that workload is not justifiable to labor act. The hypothesis test has proved that female garments workers faced more problems in compare to male workers.     Hard Combination Data Fusion for Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio

    This paper presents a study of hard combination data fusion for cooperative spectrum sensing in Cognitive Radio (CR). We evaluated the performance of cooperative spectrum sensing with the hard combination OR, AND and MAJORITY rules. Energy detection technique is used to sense the presence of primary user (PU) signal. Simulation result shows that cooperative spectrum sensing with OR rule is the best among hard combination data fusion in Cognitive Radio and gives the better performance than AND and MAJORITY rules.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v2i6.181

    Compliance of IAS-30: A Case Study on the Specialized Banks of Bangladesh

    This Journal aimed at scrutinizing the prevailing accounting standard for the banks and find out the extent of compliance by them. To find out the degree of compliance the study has gone through the annual reports of all the sample banks. Very naturally it is hoped that all of them are required to comply with the standard to uphold the stakeholders' interest. Banking industry's nature of operation is totally different .Recognizing this aspect some specific IAS (International Accounting Standard) have been prescribed for them. One of which is IAS 30(Disclosures requirements for banks and similar financial institutions). Although IAS-30 has been superseded by IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standard)-7, ICAB (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh) prescribed to comply with IFRS-7 from on or after 1st January, 2010.     Formulation and development of a topical combination cream for arthritis management

    Purpose: To design and prepare a non-prescription cream for cost-effective, potent, rapid and longlasting relief from arthritic pain.Method: The cream was prepared by formulating the aqueous phase using glucosamine sulphate, potassium chloride and chondroitin sulphate sodium, and then pouring it into the oil phase under suitable conditions. The physicochemical and antimicrobial properties, in vitro and ex vivo drug release, and overall physical and chemical stability of the formulations were characterized.Results: Sodium metabisulfite (0.5 %) and butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) (0.01 %) showed a very strong synergistic effect on overall stability of the cream.Conclusion: This study confirms that the formulated cream is potentially suitable for the management of arthritis pain in patients.     A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that can dynamically form a temporary network without the aid of any existing network infrastructure. Wireless connectivity on vehicles is an important mode of communication. It is more challenging to provide high-bandwidth networking over fast moving vehicles. Ad Hoc network can be formed on fast moving vehicles where the interior node acts as rely node. A dynamic routing protocol is needed for a node to exchange data with another. In this research work, we consider the traffic density of a typical district town where traffic density much lower than a metropolitan city and vehicle speed is regulated according to traffic law.     Job Dissatisfaction and Turnover: Bangladesh Perspective

    The process of job turnover can be described as job dissatisfaction is the first step, followed by intention to leave, which finally, can result in actual turnover (Mobley et al. 1978; Bannister & Griffith 1986). This article aimed at identifying the empirical evidences of turnover in three different situations: i) being dissatisfied with the previous job, ii) availability of job in the market and iii) (search for) better alternative job as well as identifying the factors affect job dissatisfaction.  In order to collect data for this study a comprehensive questionnaire was distributed to 150 employees of different private and public organization in Bangladesh who already leaved their previous job, of them 140 usable responses were received (drop-out rate: 6.67 percent). The results showed that the rates of turnover in three different situations are 33%, 25% and 52.5% respectively. The most important factors which affect job dissatisfaction are working environment & administration, supervisors & working hours and security of income (future) etc.  A final conclusion of this study is that, the organizations experience excessive rate of job turnover should consider the said factors to retain their employees.
