    The determinants of food heritage based on age in Klang Valley

    Many countries have reported experiencing external pressures on their culture and tradition, which include losing their food heritage and identity. With that, Malaysia, as a multi-cultural country, is also giving greater concern in preserving its food heritage and identity. This paper empirically examined the public perception of food heritage determinants. Using Klang Valley as data collection setting, 676 respondents comprised of Malays, Chinese, Indian and others were surveyed. The collected data were analysed using the descriptive statistic, mean value and cross-tabulation analysis toward two age group (30-35 and >36 years old). Results revealed that in food heritage determinants which consisted of historical elements as well as practices and integration elements had presented positive perception with the majority of the respondents agreed on each attribute and were significantly different (p0.05) when comparing the age group. This concludes that age group has impacted on some of the attributes which led to different opinion in regards to food heritage determinants

    Globalisation's Impact on Local Food Identity in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

    This study aims at the impact of globalisation on local food identity in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. This study surveyed 422 domestic tourists from Peninsular Malaysia using questionnaires as the research instrument. Tanjung Aru, Likas, and Universiti Malaysia Sabah are the study venues. Results showed that respondents agree with the statements under the globalisation awareness (item2,  =4.15±2.534); localisation (item 2, =4.04±0.666); food intake (item 2, = 4.01±4.007). Regarding local food identity, respondents agreed with the statements under sustainability ( = 4.41± 0.693). There is a moderate relationship between globalisation and local food identity with   = 0.593 (p <0.05). Keywords: Local food, Globalisation, Identity, Tourism eISSN: 2398-4287 © 2022.     Uncovering the Food Heritage based on Age Differences

    Food can be used as markers for the identity of an individual or society regardless of the geographical, social and political differences separating the populations on one nation. It is a contested medium that establishes national boundaries and identities.  The study aims to examine national food heritage awareness in the Klang Valley area based on age. The study involved 676 respondents using a self-completed questionnaire survey. Purposive sampling is being used in selecting the sample based on age, which required respondents to be 30 years old or older and have knowledge of heritage food. Statistic analysis such as frequency and cross-tabulation on age category (30-35 and >36 years old). Results revealed that there is only one common definition agreed by both age category (p>0.05) which is the traditional food are considered as food heritage. Both age using electronic media to gather information regarding on gazette National Food Heritage (p>0.05). However, on the knowledge on the authority responsible on gazette National Food Heritage respondent with adult age ( > 36 years old ) are more knowledgeable than younger adult (30-35 years old) (p<0.05). In awareness of food heritage, most of the respondent recognised traditional food from rice-based categories (n=411) than other categories. There are differences on the association National Food Heritage related to preservation, image, food identity and sustainable (p<0.05) in adult (>36 years old) than young adult (30-35 years old).  Respondent chooses the main criteria 'traditional value' which showed significant differences (p<0.05) between the age. There is a different understanding between young adult and adult on food heritage which authority need to highlight and create awareness in the national food heritage, especially in developing better promotion based on age groups.    Keywords: Awareness; Food Heritage; Age; Demographic.    eISSN: 2398-4287© 2020.     The Significant of Food Heritage Endorsement in Building Food Identity

    Many countries reported having experienced external pressures on their culture and tradition, including losing their food heritage and identity. With that, Malaysia, as a multi-cultural country, is also much concerned in preserving its food heritage and identity. This paper aimed to determine the impact of food heritage endorsement towards building food identity from a food experts perspective. A qualitative approach used to gather information, specifically by using a semi-structured interview with eight informants from government agencies and the food industry. The results revealed that the panel of experts corresponded to the impact of the endorsement of food heritage towards national food heritage in four themes, which were: creating an image; documentation of food heritage; preserving the traditional food; and national identity. The impact of endorsement towards national food heritage would help the nation in building food heritage in the direction of the country’s identity, which contributed towards national food identity or national food image.     Challenges of SME in The Tourism Industry: A review

    One of the local economies in the tourism industry is small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs).In 2020, data on the tourism industry worldwide decreased because of restrictions on the entry of tourists. This study aims to dig up on the challenges of SMEs through literature studies. The method used is to review and analyze all extant articles published in Google Scholar from 2017 to 2021. Articles will be analyzed by the keywords: SMEs, Challenge, and Tourism.     Determinants of Food Heritage towards Food Identity

    Many studies on traditional food and food products towards identity have been carried out, but there is insufficient study relating to heritage context. In exploring this issue, conceptual frameworks have developed and examined the relationship between the determinants of food heritage and food identity. A total of 898 self-administered questionnaires were collected from the public in Klang Valley area, Malaysia and using statistical analysis using partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) from PLS 3 software to established the validity and reliability of the model as well as the relationship between the two factors. Results revealed that there are eight construct determinants of food heritage and one construct of food identity that represent the conceptual model, and there is a moderate relationship between the two variables.© 2016.     Pada era pandemik Covid-19 keberkesanan dalam penyampaian maklumat secara atas talian adalah signifikan dalam meneruskan aktiviti harian disamping berhadapan dengan norma baharu seperti perintah kawalan pergerakkan. Penyampaian maklumat secara atas talian merupakan suatu pergerakkan maklumat secara maya yang dilakukan daripada pengirim kepada penerima. .Keberkesanan penyampaian maklumat adalah penting dari pelbagai aspek terutamanya dalam aspek pendidikan pelajar sekolah yang tidak dapat meneruskan proses pembelajaran secara sedia kala. Namun, keberkesanan membawa kepada pelbagai makna dan erti mengikut konteks yang digunapakai oleh pengkaji-pengkaji lepas berdasarkan pergerakkan di dalam sesuatu ruangan. Walaubagaimanapun, terdapat pelbagai aspek yang mempengaruhi keberkesanan penyampaian maklumat secara atas talian. Oleh itu, objektif kajian ini adalah untuk melihat faktor keberkesanan penyampaian maklumat secara atas talian dalam proses pembelajaran pada era pandemik Covid-19. Makalah ini menggunakan sumber sekunder untuk menerangkan keberkesanan penyampaian maklumat secara atas talian. Sumber sekunder yang digunapakai adalah artikel, jurnal, buku, tesis dan laporan. Analisis kandungan dilakukan dalam kajian ini bagi merungkaikan faktor keberkesanan dalam penyampaian maklumat secara atas talian. Hasil mendapati keberkesanan pergerakkan maklumat secara atas talian dipengaruhi oleh angkubah-angkubah penting iaitu dari aspek ICT, aspek kemudahan, dan aspek penerimaan dan seterusnya mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran pelajar dalam pendidikan. Kesimpulannya, melalui kajian ini ilmu pengetahuan dapat diimplikasikan dan dari sudut praktikal pula dapat membantu pihak bertanggungjawab seperti Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia dalam mewujudkan proses pembelajaran yang kondusif serta efektif secara atas talian

    New Norm for Traditional Food Business by SMEs Entrepreneurs: Case Study in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

    Traditional food represents the cultural identity that becomes income sources for Small and Mid-size enterprises (SMEs) entrepreneurs in Sabah. The sudden presence of the COVID-19 since March 2020 has impacted traditional food entrepreneurs. This research examines what strategies SMEs entrepreneurs are implementing. Factor Analysis is used to analyse 21 parameters of a new norm for the traditional food business. This study succeeded in developing three dimensions: enhancing existing business, new norm business and improving business skills. Entrepreneurs need to prepare strategies to meet new business norms.     The Ageing Population is a phenomenon that arises in global countries due to modernization and globalization. The elderly will be marginalized when travelling less due to the inaccessibility to the essential need later in life. This research examines the accessibility factor related to the travel pattern of the elderly. Factor Analysis is used to analyze 29 parameters of the element implemented accessibility towards their living requirements. This study developed four main factors: personal, land use, transportation facilities, and temporal. The research *ndings can assist the government and various agencies in implementing policies and strategies to ful*l the mobility needs of the elderly.     Examining local traditional food entrepreneurs in selangor and sabah States during covid 19 pandemic

    The study aims to explore local entrepreneurs’ profile criteria during covid 19 pandemic in Sabah and Selangor states. Two (2) themes have been identified for this study which are 1) Food category and 2) Business criteria. Twenty (20) informants from selected business categories are being identified and interviewed using a semi-structured question and online video and phone recording due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The finding shows that entrepreneurs from both states share similarities in food categories and customer backgrounds. They also implement technology such as online delivery applications to sustain their business during the Covid-19 pandemic
