TACA
The airline industry is energy intensive, has high fixed costs and its demand is very sensitive to the economic cycle. After the industry worldwide undergoes deregulation, starting with the United States in 1978, two distinct business models develop. Traditional carriers operate hub and spoke networks, offer onboard service and engage in price discrimination, whereas low cost carriers operate point to point, charge for all services and have simple tariffs. TACA begins operations in Central America in 1931 and, by 1943, has a footprint that extends from the United States to Argentina. In 1998â2001 TACA faces increased competition and a significant market downturn. In 2004 TACA CEO Roberto Kriete launches CentroamĂ©rica FĂĄcil to stimulate air traffic in the airline\u27s base countries
Radiation in (2+1)-dimensions
In this paper we discuss the radiation equation of state in
(2+1)-dimensions. In (3+1)-dimensions the equation of state may be
used to describe either actual electromagnetic radiation (photons) as well as a
gas of massless particles in a thermodynamic equilibrium (for example
neutrinos). In this work it is shown that in the framework of (2+1)-dimensional
Maxwell electrodynamics the radiation law takes place only for plane
waves, i.e. for . Instead of the linear Maxwell electrodynamics, to
derive the (2+1)-radiation law for more general cases with , one has
to use a conformally invariant electrodynamics, which is a 2+1-nonlinear
electrodynamics with a trace free energy-momentum tensor, and to perform a
volumetric spatial average of the corresponding Maxwell stress-energy tensor
with its electric and magnetic components at a given instant of time .Comment: 7 pages. Accepted for publication in Phys. Lett.
Does Autoenrollment Affect Employer Contributions?
Summarizes research on how automatically enrolling employees in 401(k) plans in order to raise participation rates increases costs for employers and affects their matching contribution rates and, in turn, the retirement security of eligible employees
Geometric back-reaction in pre-inflation from relativistic quantum geometry
The pre-inflationary evolution of the universe describes the beginning of the
expansion from a static initial state, such that the Hubble parameter is
initially zero, but increases to an asymptotic constant value, in which it
could achieve a de Sitter (inflationary) expansion. The expansion is driven by
a background phantom field. The back-reaction effects at this moment should
describe vacuum geometrical excitations, which are studied with detail in this
work using Relativistic Quantum Geometry.Comment: improved versio
