On the Space Time of a Galaxy
We present an exact solution of the averaged Einstein's field equations in
the presence of two real scalar fields and a component of dust with spherical
symmetry. We suggest that the space-time found provides the characteristics
required by a galactic model that could explain the supermassive central object
and the dark matter halo at once, since one of the fields constitutes a central
oscillaton surrounded by the dust and the other scalar field distributes far
from the coordinate center and can be interpreted as a halo. We show the
behavior of the rotation curves all along the background. Thus, the solution
could be a first approximation of a ``long exposition photograph'' of a galaxy.Comment: 8 pages REVTeX, 11 eps figure
Axisymmetric Stationary Solutions as Harmonic Maps
We present a method for generating exact solutions of Einstein equations in
vacuum using harmonic maps, when the spacetime possesses two commutating
Killing vectors. This method consists in writing the axisymmetric stationry
Einstein equations in vacuum as a harmonic map which belongs to the group
SL(2,R), and decomposing it in its harmonic "submaps". This method provides a
natural classification of the solutions in classes (Weil's class, Lewis' class

Blockchain technology and traceability in the wine supply chain industry
In a global context, marked by the increase in digital transformation in all sectors of society, digitalisation in the wine industry faces various challenges. One of these challenges is ensuring the wine supply chain transparency and security to the more informed consumers and technology users. This study is part of an ongoing research project. It presents a literature review whose objective is to analyse the benefits of using blockchain technology in the wine industry supply chain to tackle these challenges. This technology, combined with other technologies and supported on Internet-of-Things-based interconnected systems, can guarantee protection systems with high security. This research demonstrates how blockchain technology can add value to the wine industry’s supply chain and identifies the main challenges of implementing this technology in the Wine Industry. Also, it is presented a potential proposal to develop a traceability system for the wine industry. Generation of Closed Timelike Curves with Rotating Superconductors
The spacetime metric around a rotating SuperConductive Ring (SCR) is deduced
from the gravitomagnetic London moment in rotating superconductors. It is shown
that theoretically it is possible to generate Closed Timelike Curves (CTC) with
rotating SCRs. The possibility to use these CTC's to travel in time as
initially idealized by G\"{o}del is investigated. It is shown however, that
from a technology and experimental point of view these ideas are impossible to

Relating organizational knowledge with ISO 9001: 2015: An empirical approach
In a business market environment highly marked by competition, standardisation has proven distinctive in answering continuous challenges. Thus, organisations have been investing in obtaining ISO certifications, being "ISO 9001 – Quality Management System" among the most popular. The present empirical study aims to discover what is, in the opinion of managers expressed by their answers to the questionnaire, the relationship between the implementation of Knowledge Management practices, the Quality System and Organizational Performance while verifying if the introduction of Knowledge Management principles in the Standard ISO 9001 has affected the company's overall organisational performance. The proposed analysis methodology is supported by applying a questionnaire to 36 Portuguese Small and Medium Enterprises sample. The investigation results allowed us to infer that, in the managers' opinion expressed by the answer to the questionnaire, Knowledge Management acts as a mediator between the Quality System and performance while not directly influencing organisational performance. Within the companies studied, holders of the certification ISO 9001, through the application of Knowledge Management practices, show improvements in the management of the Quality System, with a consequent increase in organisational performance.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Oscillatons revisited
In this paper, we study some interesting properties of a spherically
symmetric oscillating soliton star made of a real time-dependent scalar field
which is called an oscillaton. The known final configuration of an oscillaton
consists of a stationary stage in which the scalar field and the metric
coefficients oscillate in time if the scalar potential is quadratic. The
differential equations that arise in the simplest approximation, that of
coherent scalar oscillations, are presented for a quadratic scalar potential.
This allows us to take a closer look at the interesting properties of these
oscillating objects. The leading terms of the solutions considering a quartic
and a cosh scalar potentials are worked in the so called stationary limit
procedure. This procedure reveals the form in which oscillatons and boson stars
may be related and useful information about oscillatons is obtained from the
known results of boson stars. Oscillatons could compete with boson stars as
interesting astrophysical objects, since they would be predicted by scalar

Spin-orbit interaction induced singularity of the charge density relaxation propagator
The charge density relaxation propagator of a two dimensional electron
system, which is the slope of the imaginary part of the polarization function,
exhibits singularities for bosonic momenta having the order of the spin-orbit
momentum and depending on the momentum orientation. We have provided an
intuitive understanding for this non-analytic behavior in terms of the inter
chirality subband electronic transitions, induced by the combined action of
Bychkov-Rashba (BR) and Dresselhaus (D) spin-orbit coupling. It is shown that
the regular behavior of the relaxation propagator is recovered in the presence
of only one BR or D spin-orbit field or for spin-orbit interaction with equal
BR and D coupling strengths. This creates a new possibility to influence
carrier relaxation properties by means of an applied electric field.Comment: 4 figure
Nonequilibrium charge dynamics of light-driven rings threaded by a magnetic flux
We study theoretically the charge polarization and the charge current
dynamics of a mesoscopic ring driven by short asymmetric electromagnetic pulses
and threaded by an external static magnetic flux. It is shown that the
pulse-induced charge polarization and the associated light-emission is
controllable by tuning the external magnetic flux. Applying two mutually
perpendicular pulses triggers a charge current in the ring. The interplay
between this nonequilibrium and the persistent currents is investigated and the
