Absence of a Lower Limit on Omega_b in Inhomogeneous Primordial Nucleosynthesis
We show that a class of inhomogeneous big bang nucleosynthesis models exist
which yield light-element abundances in agreement with observational
constraints for baryon-to-photon ratios significantly smaller than those
inferred from standard homogeneous big bang nucleosynthesis (HBBN). These
inhomogeneous nucleosynthesis models are characterized by a bimodal
distribution of baryons in which some regions have a local baryon-to-photon
ratio eta=3*10e-10, while the remaining regions are baryon-depleted. HBBN
scenarios with primordial (2H+3He)/H<9*10e-5 necessarily require that most
baryons be in a dark or non-luminous form, although new observations of a
possible high deuterium abundance in Lyman-alpha clouds may relax this
requirement somewhat. The models described here present another way to relax
this requirement and can even eliminate any lower bound on the baryon-to-photon
ratio.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figures (available upon request by email), plain te
Testing TeV Scale Quantum Gravity using Dijet Production at the Tevatron
Dijet production at the Tevatron including effects of virtual exchanges of
spin-2 Kaluza-Klein modes in theories with large extra dimensions is
considered. The experimental dijet mass and angular distribution are exploited
to obtain stringent limits ( TeV) on the effective string scale

eta_c Production at the Tevatron: A test of NRQCD
We use NRQCD to predict the cross section for production at the
Tevatron. The non-perturbative matrix elements required are obtained, using
heavy-quark symmetry, from the matrix elements determined from the CDF
data. Our numbers are, therefore, predictions of NRQCD and provide a very good
test of it. Even after taking into account the small branching ratio of the
into two photons, a substantial rate for the production of this
resonance at the Tevatron is expected.Comment: 6 pages, LaTeX, 1 ps figure, Revised version to appear in Physics

NLO-QCD corrections to e+ e- --> hadrons in models of TeV-scale gravity
We present results on NLO-QCD corrections to the process e+ e- --> hadrons
via photon-, Z- and graviton-exchange in the context of TeV-scale gravity
models. The quantitative impact of these QCD corrections for searches of extra
dimensions at a Linear Collider is briefly discussed.Comment: 10 pages, LaTeX, using axodraw.st
NLO-QCD Corrections to Dilepton Production in the Randall-Sundrum Model
The dilepton production process at hadron colliders in the Randall-Sundrum
(RS) model is studied at next-to-leading order in QCD. The NLO-QCD corrections
have been computed for the virtual graviton exchange process in the RS model,
in addition to the usual gamma, Z-mediated processes of standard Drell-Yan.
K-factors for the cross-sections at the LHC and Tevatron for differential in
the invariant mass, Q, and the rapidity, Y, of the lepton pair are presented.
We find the K-factors are large over substantial regions of the phase space.Comment: 24 pages, 12 figure
