The organisms belonging to class Insecta plays so many roles in the ecosystem, one of which is a pest. The spiders are exclusive predators of many insect pests. Hence, spiders can play a very important role in the regulation of the insect population in any ecosystem. The present study of spider diversity from Vijaysinha Yadav College Campus Peth Vadgaon, Dist. Kolhapur, Maharashtra is the first attempt to find out the diversity of spiders in the selected area. A survey was carried out in the rainy season from July 2023 to October 2023 on the campus of Vijaysinha Yadav College, Peth Vadgaon, Dist. Kolhapur. The College building and vegetation of the campus were surveyed in the morning between 08.00 am to 11.00 am weekly. A total of 31 spider species belonging to 19 genera of 09 families were identified. &nbsp

Zinc homeostasis and signaling in health and diseases: Zinc signaling

    Get PDF
The essential trace element zinc (Zn) is widely required in cellular functions, and abnormal Zn homeostasis causes a variety of health problems that include growth retardation, immunodeficiency, hypogonadism, and neuronal and sensory dysfunctions. Zn homeostasis is regulated through Zn transporters, permeable channels, and metallothioneins. Recent studies highlight Zn’s dynamic activity and its role as a signaling mediator. Zn acts as an intracellular signaling molecule, capable of communicating between cells, converting extracellular stimuli to intracellular signals, and controlling intracellular events. We have proposed that intracellular Zn signaling falls into two classes, early and late Zn signaling. This review addresses recent findings regarding Zn signaling and its role in physiological processes and pathogenesis

Between Renaissance and Baroque: a study of the keybord works of Frescobaldi

    No full text
The present study is an attempt to enlarge upon the proposition that the age of Frescobaldi was, like all others, an age of transition, in his case the transition from Renaissance to Baroque. His position within this change is central, both in time and importance. In our first two chapters, the various categories of keyboard works which he enriched will be considered, with their prehistories, his contributions, and analyses of individual pieces. In chapter I the works mainly of instrumental origin will be dealt with, and in chapter ll those of more vocal derivation. In the final chapter, the information thus gleaned will be used to demonstrate his exact position within the transition, particularly with regard to its two most important aspects, the harmonic field and the interaction of vocal and instrumental elements
